Yep! They attacked Bork (who would have been far more Liberal) and then Thomas in new and disgusting ways and turned their approval process into political attacks. These Democrats think they will be in power forever? Now they cry when Republicans turned it back on them?

The same thing with the filibuster. If they do it, they will regret it huge in less than 4-6 years. It's so myopic and destructive for the nation as a whole.

    So what?

It is a chance worth taking.

The Dems can get some stuff passed, and IF (in the future) the GOP gets all 3 of House, Senate and WH, then they can reverse it.

Still, Manchin will never go along.
So it seems like a moot point.

Law of averages says there is SOME legislation Manchin does care about, right? Submit that to the Senate and watch that get filibustered...

Even a paper thin human like Joe Manchin must want to leave some record of accomplishment at some point (seems to me)

It's only moot if it's never put to an actual vote.... Anybody can say anything before that...

If Democrats can revoke the filibuster all they have to do is pass HR1 and implement the Wyoming rule. Republicans will never see the majority in the House of Representatives again and the popular vote will be much more powerful in selecting the president.

When is the last time a new Republican president was elected by the majority of voters again?

Judging by the Reps here at PF, it seems his message is a very welcomed one. While others may see it as being against the country and moving forward, his followers are 100% in support of his stance.

Yes, it's "different" now. A Demokrat is president.

Positive things can get done if Dems listen to Manchin and do more than pay lip service to unity and bipartisanship. Otherwise, I'm perfectly content with gridlock - the less that gets done in Washington the better.

    True.

I (Like ALL True American Patriots, who believe in Free and Fair Elections) feel that passing HR1 is a MUST.

Nobody packed the Court in 2020. Instead of doing the Left a solid and retiring while Obama was in office, Her Holiness RBG decided to stay on the bench longer than she should have and then croaked while a Republican was in office. She gambled and lost, and all of you have Ginsburg and her hubris to thank for that.

Wishful thinking on your part. They knew there was a good chance Trump would lose and getting Barrett on the bench for the next 20+ years would be a sweet consolation prize if he did.

    Thank you RBG

Yeah, but HR1 is not the hill Manchin will die on..... Maybe he doesn't believe in moving anything forward, making him a true DINO...

Nope... the position should have remained open under the ULTRA-FLEXIBLE McConnell rule...

LOL... see what I did there?? I indicated a Republican follows a rule...

    I crack myself up...

ROFL! You will end up dissolving the Union with your quest for unending power. No normal Americans are going to tolerate you Authoritarian Leftists seizing power like that.

Dissolving the union by implementing voter reforms and making the House of Representatives proportional like it was intended to be?

ROFL indeed. Then again y’all were screaming civil war when your leader was slapped down with one of the biggest electoral losses in recent history so I am not surprised you call for dissolving the union because the system no longer leans Republican.

As to dissolving the union, who will pay for red areas if they can no longer demand the financial support of the blue cities?

I thought being 100% focused on stopping the other party is considered a sacred duty among politicians. What could be more normal?

You will find if a divide happens, those Red areas, with all the natural resources not subsidized for the Blue areas will prosper in huge ways as they establish their own economies not hindered by an oppressive, over regulatory, Washington D.C. and Blue State Capitols.

Destroying the Biden agenda is saving the country, not saying "to hell with it".

I know there's been a deliberate disinformation campaign by Democrats to memory-hole the actual meaning of "pack the court", but what happened in October 2020 wasn't it. Here's a link if you need a refresher:

    Court-packing | Definition of Court-packing by Merriam-Webster (merriam-webster.com)

There were 9 SCOTUS seats in September 2020, and there were still 9 SCOTUS seats in November 2020.

Don't worry though, I'm sure the leftist foot soldiers will be along to rewrite the dictionary soon enough.

Manchin's record of accomplishment is saving Senate dems from themselves and their own stupidity and short-sightedness.

That divide already exists. If the blue and red areas spit the blue areas would still be a major economy, likely only dropping one spot from where the US as a whole sits.

Red areas would not be able to say that. I disagree that the only thing holding red areas back is regulation but I know that everything is the Democrats fault in your mind because Republicans are the ultimate innocent victims in everything.

Under McConnell, the GOP is the party of NO. He has no ideas to propose that will benefit the people, and is determined that no one else benefits us, either. The people of Kentucky need to stop reelecting this nasty piece of work.

Whatever it takes. The agenda always justifies the tactics in Democrat politics.
