if Republicans want to block everything and not play fair, dems can do the same, both are following the rules... and that makes it all ok right?

dems need to add some seats to the SC too

I think the Dems should have adding seats to the SC as part of their 2022 platform and let the people decide at the voting booth if they agree or not

like Republicans let the people decide who would pick the next SC pick like Republicans did to Obama - Republicans do not want to play fair anymore, neither should dems

There is nothing unfair in the least about a Republican senate leader opposing a Democrat president. Unilaterally changing long standing senate rules is unfair.

What is the Republican agenda? Do they have one, besides blocking anything and everything?

the rules also allow dems to do this, so it's not unfair either, dems just following the rules

Decent point. The spineless Republicans -- and there are many -- don't pursue agendas or policies nearly as good as Democrats do.

Changing long standing rules is not at all the same as practicing every day normal politics.

Democrats again lied to get someone into power to force their far left and unpopular agenda on Americans. They sold him as a moderate yet nothing he has done so far has been moderate. Now dems and supporters want to fundamentally change time honored institutions to force that unpopular change.

Translation: You are not happy that the far left didn’t get to ‘stack’ the court.

Stop Biden from what? All he has done so far is prove it is possible to fall up stairs. Biden smokes pole cats.

The filibuster is not a "time honored institution"... But funny attempt... put a smile on my face...

How could that be possible? Democrats filibustered more times in Trumps 4 years of Presidency than Repubs did in 4 years of Obama. Seriously, how could Dems have filibustered anything if what you say is true? Indeed, during Trumps Presidency a majority of Democrats and some Republicans signed a petition pleading to NOT end the filibusters. LINK: Bipartisan Preserve Filibuster Letter.pdf (senate.gov)

My how easily Dems forget....and ignore....

You'd have to ask Mitch... he must fear Biden is capable of accomplishing things which must be stopped.

Stopping is what he does... that should be the Mitch McConnell campaign sign

    McConnell for Senate

Someone has to stop the idiocy from the Biden admin. He is on his way to bankrupt the country, flood it with illegals, chasing manufacturing out at an even faster pace, backing down on foreign policy giving in to our enemies, and worst of all, spiking inflation and unemployment that hurts the poor the most. Of course this is all by design so the far left can institute their fantasy of utopia.

Filibustered nominees, not bills.... Mitch rarely wasted anybody's time forcing a filibuster on actual legislation

Many of T****'s were unqualified... I know it, you know it, they knew it....

You do know that it was the Republicans who lowered Supreme Court approval to 50+ right? So T**** could name multiple justices? You are aware of this aren't you?
You are also aware that the 60 vote rule was also lowered to simple majority in the Senate again by Republicans during the T**** admin? I am sure that you are. Right?
Mitch needs to retire and sooner rather than later. Once that is done then raise all votes back to 60 to pass, it was that way to force the parties to work together as they should.

This is the one thing T**** is working on that I agree with, by splitting the Republican party we should see a 3rd party form soon which will be moderate and draw some current Democrats as well. Eventually it should become the dominant party and not in the too far distance. Then we'll see some deal making and governing instead of posturing.

And then the goal post was moved.

You SPECIFICALLY talked about legislation, which is about bills, in the post I responded to. Indeed your post was about how there was no need for Dems to filibuster because McConnell "never allowed anything to get to that point". NOW you're narrowing it down to nominee's? This whole thread is about ending the filibuster because of what McConnell said about stopping Biden. Your post was tailored with that in mind.

Just stop. You've already dug yourself a hole. Better to stop now than to make the hole bigger.

Btw, LINK: WH: 79 Cloture Votes Used Against Trump Nominees Compared to 17 in Past 4 Administrations Combined | CNSNews

Either way, move the goal post, don't move the goal post.... you lose.

Did you look up what a cloture vote is? It's the Republicans taking away the ability of Democrats to object to a candidate for more than 0 hours. That's not a good thing and should be rarely used but Mitch and the boys used it like candy. Not something to be proud of.

Goal posts where they always were....

I'd like to remove/make the filibuster painful.

Most of the filibusters during the T**** years were on nominees, not legislation.

The rest is you howling at the moon.... enjoy!

you mean like republicans changing SC picks to 50 votes vs 60

the rules allowed repubs to pack the SC, it also allows dems to do it
