Did Biden mean misery for all when he spoke of unity?

President Joe Biden said in a CBS Evening News With Norah ODonnell interview set to air Sunday that he doesn’t think a $15 minimum wage will be included in the stimulus bill working its way through Congress – a sign Democrats’ decision to use budget reconciliation to pass coronavirus relief is preventing them from achieving their policy goals.

Does he need to pander to all factions of the party, yes. Does he really support $15/hour. Who knows.
It's not going to happen anyway.

As for men playing girls sports, you made that up.

It means: not your niece or nephew or acquaintance ... who is in college and believes they know everything there is to know... Nor some random "blogger" or a poster you happened to read. It means somebody who can actually take a vote on it or, in any way, make it happen.

Then you should have no problem showing a quote from President Biden stating that he favors open borders.

I see. So you walk back your comment. Thank you for your honesty.

And, with all due respect to your son, tell him from me that I, one of the staunchest left wing liberals in this forum, believe he's wrong.

As a matter of fact, I don't know of any liberal in this forum (or any forum) who favors open borders but... who knows. I don't know everybody in this forum.

So I guess you missed his refusing $50,000 loan forgiveness for students, even though the progressives are pushing hard for it?

You have to understand the continuum has changed. It looks like this now:

    normal<<<----->>>trump

Biden has indeed swung far left.

No I didn't. That was one of Joe's executive orders and Joe was in favor of a fifteen dollars min. While on the campaign trail.

Trump is gone from the presidency. You are living in the past. Liberals will not be able to blame Trump much longer and will have to take responsibility for their own messes. Like by 2022.

I am not a part of any political elite, so do not know congressmen who can take a vote on it or make it happen. I have a suspicion that you, perhaps, are. If so, you might try asking your liberal niece, nephew or acquaintance who may vote although not part of the liberal consequence, what they want. I am betting that they would prefer free healthcare than 13,000,000 illegals imported. I'm against both, so don't really have a dog in the fight.

You can’t be serious. Where have you been ?
Guess the right is out of touch.
A losin* president is the delusional key note speaker at the CPAC convention, bragging how he still won the election.
As long as Trump is breathing and the gop lightweights all kiss his ring, the loser is still the face of the gop.

I don't think so. I think his purpose was to recruit more people to the left to improve the political power of the democrat party. We will never escape misery as long as we have the government we have.

False. I am a "Trumpublican", IE: I supported Trump, I think no such thing. Most don't. All that most people want, including the majority of Americans, is for our borders to be secured. We want illegal immigration to be stopped. We have no problem with legal immigration. We have no problem with asylum seekers also. Provided that they are actually looking for asylum because they are being targeted by their government. Not just claiming asylum so that they can get a foot into the US and then disappear never to be seen again because they can live a better life in the US than in their own country of origin. And no, their skin color has nothing to do with it. We don't care what country you come from or your skin color. Come here legally and you're welcome. Come here illegally and we want you out. Period.

Seriously, this is what Trump has brought to the Republican Party and still holds sway over what they do.
Here is the Democrat platform in the last election and what they will try to pass for legislation for the next four years. Obviously, you don’t agree, but at least you and everyother Conservative know what they stand for.

    https://democrats.org/where-we-stand/party-platform/

NOW, HERE IS THE REPUBLICAN PLATFORM AND WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE DONE HAD “THEY” BEEN ELECTED TO RUN THE GOV.

NOTHING. ( No platform....) That’s cool, you’re voting for incompetence. That’s what Trump has done for republicans and conservatives.
    .

HOW THE SHT CAN YOU. VOTE VOTE THEM.

Tell us, where did republicans stand on this issue ? I’ll tell you, nowhere. They haven’t had a plan they could articulate since Reagan. Repos are Whigs, the do nothing party.

the repos voted for the Trump platform in 2016. So really, the pandemic and a recession no longer exist. They had no platform

Ahhh, the good old "cognitive" argument. Just like the failed "sleepy Joe" argument. LOL

Is that really the best you have to offer?

Oh wait, that was a rhetorical question.

Exactly! Anybody you know personally is not "anybody of consequence" (on this issue, I mean). But you did claim that democrats (and specifically Joe Biden) was in favor of open boarders. And yet, you can't provide any quote.

    That says a lot!

Not only am I not. I don't know any democrat, or even heard or read any democrat, who is. It would appear like you have. That's why I was asking you for a quote. But now it looks like you don't know any either. So... that's that....

That was a very interesting, totally disbumbobulated word-salad. Gotta say, that alone is a special talent.

Huh. The vast majority of illegals CAME HERE LEGALLY AND overstayed their visas with the help of their employers who still hired them. Of all the whining Trumpers do about walls, NOT ONE PIECE OF LEGISLATION has been promoted to address the REAL cause of illegal immigrants. You certainly didn’t mention it.

I liked the part where Bridget referred to “regular women.” I have no idea what that means unless she is talking about bowel movements .

There's no $15/hr bill going through congress.
Covid relief bill passed. NO $15/hr included.

    Actions speak louder than words.

So, now what do you have?

What executive order? Post it? Are you referencing men playing female sports yet?
Why not show the actual EO? If you are not making it up.

    Why?

What bill is he trying to get pushed through Congress regarding open borders?

This is so true. We used to say that Republicans were "ideologues". That they would put ideology above anything. Even in particular circumstances in which their ideology did not fit. Now they swung to the other extreme: no ideology at all!

They have substituted "ideology" for "cult of personality".

    Extremism is weird.
