I am not 'reducing' anything. I brought the original and ONLY definition of 'antisemitism' there is. Indeed, the origin of the term was due to the fact that at the time Jews were the only 'semites' present in Europe; however the term NEVER included any other semites.

Words have meanings and definitions. You cannot play with them as you wish. Sometimes they change in the course of history, however the meaning of 'antisemitism' NEVER changed. If you claim otherwise, please demonstrate one single incident where it referred to negative attitudes towards anyone but Jews. Emotional appeals to my 'lack of concern for other semites' won't help you here. I work with facts, not rhetorical manipulations.

Here's a fact for you. The word ' antisemitic' originated, circa 1860, as a denigration of Semitic peoples- that is those people indigenous to the ' Semitic ' regions. There weren't a great many jews there at all at that time. The occupation came later.

 

Now that reminds me of something, Marlowe. Are you aware that Israel has been chosen to host the EUFA under-21 Championships in 2013?

The sporting boycott of SA made a definite impact.....so about time it was tried on Israel. Sickening enough that Israel is playing in EUFA at all....but hosting any EUFA competition while they practice apartheid within Israel and oppression in the Occupied Territories is just not acceptable.

Why should we let Israel reduce us to the same level of callousness as them?

Ironic to think that a year ago Platini threatened to annul Israel's membership of the union because of the restrictions it imposes on Palestinian football players..yet in June Israel would not allow the four Gazan players who joined the Palestinian team to enter the West Bank for the second round Olympic Qualifier.

The Palestinian Football Federation faces problems in organising even training sessions for the entire team because of travel restrictions placed by Israel upon people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the difficulty in obtaining an exit visa from Israel.

And still Israel gets a UEFA Championship final........sod that for a game of soldiers killing innocents!
