It's your opinion that he was saying that. Don't pretend that your opinion is FACT. Really? What are you all doing? Living life as normal, just like pre-COVID? For the majority of the past 7 months in the US, you're right, 70 year olds haven't mostly been "sitting at the nursing home." They've been sitting at HOME! Are you aware of that? What have you been doing? Are you even in the US?
What someone is saying is a matter of fact, not opinion. The intention of his words was crystal clear to anyone not blinded by Bronze Tanner I'm in the US and I've been doing fairly little different than I was before besides watching in stupefied amazement as most of the US does their level best to sacrifice their elderly, immune-compromised, and children on the altar of Trump's ego
Correct. However, INTERPRETATION is a matter of opinion, not a matter of fact. Your interpretation is your interpretation. How is "most of the US" doing that exactly?
Deaths last year were 2,855,000. Deaths so far this year are at 2,203,600. It's starting to look like 2020 will end up being a fairly normal year, without significant excess deaths. Very few people are dying from Covid alone. The extremely frail and the elderly are dying with Covid. Trump is no more "bad" on the issue of the virus, than are the leaders of Belgium, Italy, France or Spain.
guess going out more causes more deaths, and social distancing and masks prevent more deaths than just covid - that does makes sense obviously we can't all live in a bubble forever, but I would expect fewer deaths from many causes while we do according to Trump the vaccine will be released before the election, so not much longer, may as well wait it out now "Trump Says Vaccine Will Be Ready In As Little As ‘Four Weeks’" Sep 15, 2020 https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2548727558700302
one started by Trump and his ban on China travel, then playing it down, then declaring a national emergency, then shutting down the country? Trump declared he was a wartime president against a horrible invisible enemy I do agree to some extent, most countries follow the lead of the USA, especially if they feel the USA will shut them down if they don't, remember when trump threatened to shut down imports then backed off early on Trump has not been a good leader in this crisis
By not doing what other nations, all very comparable to us in population size have been doing and which have resulted in those nations having much, MUCH fewer deaths, like hundreds instead of thousands
But he's much, MUCH worse than the leaders of S Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand. They did, and are doing, what we in fact were telling the rest of the world to do and are telling them even now. Trump ignored that and did virtually nothing except the tragically and comically ineffective travel "ban" to make his base feel better by blaming the Chinese. He did this to salve his own ego and not admit that he had been wrong. Over 200,000 Americans have died to make the Bronze Baby feel better.
He has been the worst in the world. 217,000 people in the US have died due to him. They were old and many were "frail", they may have died this year anyhow, or they may have lived on for decades. We will never know. They died in excruciating pain, relieved that the agony of breathing was ending and their suffering magnified exponentially by the fact that they were alone, unable to have visitors, or say goodbye to loved ones. But who cares, they were old and Donnie had a "hunch" that the virus would disappear in the spring.
And costing us millions every day, but who cares, the ego of our Child-In-Chief is all important, we mustn't act as if he could have ever been even slightly wrong about anything or was ever a fallible human being. He is a GOD, only HE can save us, and this must be the case, for He has told us so.
has Trump changed his reopening guidelines yet, if not, the States are still following the Trump guidelines during this national emergency Trump declared 3 phases of the Trump reopen guidelines https://www.whitehouse.gov/openingamerica/ https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-conte...ening-Up-America-Again.pdf?mod=article_inline
This "same" risk of death is extra risk, thus double the risk, as David Spiegelhalter has felt obliged to clarify as, for example, here: How much ‘normal’ risk does Covid represent? Note added 2nd May 2020. Some people seem to be interpreting this article as suggesting that COVID does not add to one’s normal risk. I should make it clear that I am suggesting that it roughly doubles your risk of dying this year. https://medium.com/wintoncentre/how-much-normal-risk-does-covid-represent-4539118e1196 And of course, is explained in his report in the BMJ. https://www.bmj.com/content/370/bmj.m3259
Naw... STORMFRONT! Unfortunately they were TOO liberal for my tastes, so I'm back, I just have to remember that conservatives must tiptoe on eggs while liberals may run amok here.
