I think the Trump shutdown only should have applied to States with out of control case counts, and social distancing and masks be required for the lesser States

I have from the beginning felt this virus came to the USA late last year, which changes all the models, I said they should have tested for it, but that never happened

once Trump said 15 going on zero, there was no way Trump wanted to find out the truth as in his eyes that made him look bad

one thing people have to remember, a shutdown was never supposed to stop the virus, the goal was to stop hospitals from becoming overloaded

this is why it only should have been done in States that were facing such a risk of their hospitals being overloaded

masks and social distancing are for the same reasons, to keep the rates down until we have a vaccine, which Trump says will be here by the election, so let's all do this just a little longer, we are almost to the other side

now if it's not and Trump was lying to us, even then we would have to see evidence of it getting that bad in a State to close it down

Isolation of the infected, extensive testing and assiduous contact tracing, along with mask wearing , social distancing and most of all, not having ANY large gatherings that are not totally necessary. These are the necessary parts of any lockdown. Without all of these done strictly you might as well not have any. This is what Trump has been doing from the start and that is why we have over 200,000 dead.
