Taiwan and South Korea did not lockdown. And there is no evidence that lockdown did anything to slow the spread of the virus. In fact a lockdown may turn out to be the worst strategy to deal with the Corona virus.

You get in crowded lines to buy toilet paper and then go to the crowded garden section of Home Depot to buy plants! Also, you order things online and bring packages touched by several people into your home!

In this case, it is a matter of understanding what pleases the crown.

    True.

They are fortunate to have competent leaders who took the threat seriously from the outset.

Millions of tests available quickly, no conspiracy theories, no loonies defying government action armed with assault rifles, no President advising people to inject themselves with bleach.

Canada's been in lockdown for two months.

    Go see the results.

You have no way of knowing that. You have a 99.7% change of surviving, and the vast majority of those dying are the elderly and those with certain pre-conditions.

The point is that freedom of association should not be infringed, and those that choose to exercise that right should be allowed. There is no logical reason to prevent it. It is a choice.

If she has no symptoms and wears a mask and isn’t cutting the hair of 80yr olds then the odds of her killing anything is slim to very slim. And if someone chooses to get their hair cut so be it.

Seems the people most into science don’t know the first ****ing thing about how deadly this is and who is actually vulnerable.

Let’s see Democrats respond when food supplies start really breaking down and more people start getting murdered for supplies or starving than ever would have died from the virus.

We have fared better than most major countries in EU and much better when you compare us to EU as a whole which is the most logical comparison when it comes to varying population densities and total population.

Did you pull that out of your ass? I haven't read anywhere that the virus has a .3 percent mortality rate.

And we have another mental giant who believes that Trump advised injected bleach. Too funny. How can anyone take someone like that seriously.

Italy, UK, Spain, have all been on lock down. How are they doing. Sweden has not. How are they going compared to Italy, etc...

The US went on lockdown before Canada did.

Based on infection rate the mortality is estimated to be ~ 0.1 %. That's based on multiple estimates from multiple regions in multiple nations. In Kern County CA the infection rate based mortality rate is 0.03%.

Yeah, let's discuss this if it comes to fruition. We can keep the conjecture and hyperbole to a realistic level.

Only thing missing is a source with the current infection rate and death rate. You got that to support your claim?

The infection based mortality rate is much lower (~ 2 orders of magnitude) than the case mortaility rate. And there is a food shortage - namely red meat. That's not conjecture.

Trump shutdown the economy, then extended it to April 30th, then set up the guidelines to re-open

yes, governors could have ignored Trump, but most did not

I've posted the source multiple times. You have enough information to inform yourself as I've done.

yes, as I said, they could have ignored Trump, but most states did not, some did

no, that's now how this works. It isn't the readers responsibility to disprove your claims.

No, the murder for supplies and starvation is. Don't be coy, it shows poor character and judgement.

You can't calculate the death rate without knowing the number infected. You can't know the number infected without testing everybody. It is all estimates and guesses.

Sure, but he's claiming it's .3 percent and he has multiple sources that support the claim. At this point I find that virtually impossible without guessing a total number of infected.

nope, staying home where it's safe - my state has no lock down, but most of us are still social distancing, following the Trump recommendations, even if our republican Governor is not
