This woman is a *******ned hero.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.star-telegram.com/news/nation-world/national/article242524441.html

People have a right to earn a living, and the economic toll is far worse than the panic driven doom and gloom crowd driven by irrational COVID-19 fears that authoritarians are taking advantage of to infringe upon the rights of normal people. These people are the modern day Tories.

If this woman had the virus, she'd infect dozens of people.

    Some of them would die.

if ands and buts, we don’t know maybe she had extreme protective measures in place. That being said, it’s horrible this virus has made people make this choice.

many not happy with the Trump shutdown, even in Texas

I wonder if she was open pre-April 30th and just now getting upset due to the Trump guidelines to re-open taking too long?

It isn't the virus making people make this choice, it's the authoritarian government.

That's their choice, the risk is theirs to take. If one feels threatened by a hair salon, or any other place of business, stay home and away from others.

Well, the salons, barbershops, and malls are open all over Dallas and the call to President Trump for 40,000 more ventilators has not yet been made.

I wondered about that too, are her employees making more working now than they did on unemployment as not many probably going out yet

"is not selfish. I have hair stylists that are going hungry because they’d rather feed their kids."

since unemployment is an extra $600 a week right now, wonder why her employees starving to feed their kids, especially with the extra 1200 per parent and extra per child on the stimulus

At any cost? Are you objecting to specific restrictions or are you just railing against the concept of government authority in general? They're two very different positions and what little explanation you provided reads like a confused mix-and-match of both.

Why would anyone want to infringe of people's rights just for the sake of it? Why do you have to presume some kind of maliciousness, they could just be wrong?

I do not think any charges will stick do to her for not obeying the Trump shutdown, but it will be harder on her as she will have to fight it in court

my question is really, are the employees better off returning to work if the customers do not come yet... seems in reality the unemployment checks may be higher than the paychecks and waiting a bit to open (until the Trump re-open guidelines met), may be better for the employees.... but I could be wrong

I live in a republican state and the business can open, but have not, the people and businesses shut down on their own, I think that was a better way to do it, no need to force it - I think most are waiting to see what happens to those that open early to see how it goes

She may not have employees, they may be independent contractors that rent a station and have their own client base. This is common in the hair and nail business. These contractors likely are not eligible for unemployment as they are self employed, they run their own business.

I have long admired the Texas philosophy. I've spent a fair amount of time there, but never lived there.

The Texas government should be ashamed for what they've done to that woman. It's very anti-Texas IMO.

Haven't you figured out yet that innocent people can be infected by others who aren't careful or don't care?

That's a lot of if. And If she doesn't have the virus, all you're doing to artificially starving her family. And some of them would die. But it makes you "feelz" better, doesn't it.

In most cases, it was the decision of county judges (Dallas is very blue fyi) These businesses are going to open on Friday. Long overdue.

Yeah, like that Cuomo guy from CNN who, even while infected, continued to go out in public because those lockdown rules didn't actually apply to him... right?

It's the county, not Trump, I looked and they have like one Republican on the body that probably made the order.

With hurricanes, where I am they don't force us to leave, yet, if they do I'll probably refuse especially during this virus.

I wonder if they put her in "population," or a separate cell. If a customer gets it, it's on them, if the owner gets it in population, it's on the government's hands.

This is just the typical reaction from the plantation folk. They demand that they be protected from you. Why? Because they view themselves as vastly more important than you, and even if it is them who are the problem, they won't tolerate it if you demand that they keep themselves quarantined. Like that Cuomo guy from CNN who, in the depths of his illness, still ventured out in public, Was filmed by people actually, not wearing any protective gear, working out in a gym.

And this cretin still has the balls to chide others because they might get him.... What a tool

the governors that followed the Trump guidelines, Trump was the one that extended the shutdown till April 30th and then issued the guidelines to re-open, you know that right

Trump attacked governors that tried to open barbershops and nail salons early

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/do...-course-says-too-soon-georgia-reopen-n1190061

"President Donald Trump said Wednesday he "strongly disagrees" with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp's decision to allow businesses like barbershops and nail salons to reopen, a day after he praised him during the White House briefing."

If I am not mistaken Great Britain has closed salons for 6 months. We can choose to greatly lessen the effects of the virus or we can keep the Pandemic alive and killing thousands, what's it going to be America?
