I tell the truth about slavery. I don't intend any reader to get the idea that this moment, i somehow approve slavery. I even told them of my Army time where I was treated as slaves got treated. Democrats claim then the Army was not like slavery.

But plantations woke up slaves. i got woke up loudly in the early am by the Army. Slaves reported to a place to eat. I did that in the Army. Slaves responded to men who yelled at them to do this or that. Gee, me too. Slaves were told to obey or get punished. Gee, same thing as happened to me.

But how often were they sold? Many slaves died on the property they were born on.

Do you not yet understand that in the ACW, many confederates took some slaves with them who cared for them. I mean, actually cared for the owners. Many owners treated slaves well, all things considered. General Washington is alleged to have treated slaves well. So have at him. Trash General George Washington.

 

Yes, slaves had to survive so did have a passive behavior. That or they suffered. I think most did as we did in the Army and fell into line fairly quickly.
