    Relax dude, and learn to pick up on sarcasm. Y'all tried this act when Trump told a crowd that someone else said he could shoot someone and not lose voters.

    Yes. For his career's sake. If he was being serious, I'll be the first one to call for his badge. If it was a joke, I'd slap him with a suspension.

    Clearly a flippant and sarcastic comment from him meant to be tongue in cheek. Obviously not true either.

    Still unacceptable from an officer on duty. He will probably lose his job and that is not unjust.

    I knew a corrections officer who transferred to adult parole. In his first month he spoke on the phone to a relative of a parolee who he was charged with finding. He made some sort of remark that the relative should tell him where the parolee was so he could go arrest the parolee without violence other wise he may have to go all Darren Wilson/Micheal Brown on the parolee.

    Now of course we all know that the evidence proves that the Shooting of Brown by Wilson was justified self defense, however making such a comment to the relative of a fugitive is unacceptable and the parole officer was fired. Officers should be and are held to a higher standard.

    I don't see anything at all wrong. The passage was stuck on stupid, frozen with on mindset, the officer was using shock or humor to move the mindset. It worked.

    I wouldn't even suspend him. I'd make sure he didn't say anything else like this for the simple fact that today's society is so divided that the other side will run with anything they can to make us look bad. But God forbid some black dude shows up there with a loaded gun and aims it at one of those officers and gets himself shot now...

    It wasn't a joke.

    The Lt. was using whatever means warranted to de-escalate a situation concerning a drunk with something they could relate to.

    That's what a Cop is expected to do.

    That's what the libs call for over and over to avoid physical contact and/or shooting a criminal.

    If it was effective it should be used.

    Yes. If he's being serious then roast him. If he's being sarcastic like most of the rest of the nation is allowed to be, then there's nothing wrong here. If we didn't have idiots all over the country crying about cops only ever killing blacks (that goes for the media, too) then this statement never would have been said.

    Ever been searched by a cop? "Got any knives, needles, guns, bazookas or grenades I need to know about?" It makes you laugh and defuses a tense situation.

    Reply to a TSA agent "nope nothing not allowed, no liquid no bombs, no grenades" and see what happens.

    To people like SBB, he's a cop and made a comment about blacks. It doesn't matter to those radicals if he was sarcastic or not. In their world, he was guilty before he ever said it.

    I'm sure some statements in some contexts would be illegal in that jurisdiction but I don’t expect his statements in that context would be. I think you’d have to reference some specific legislation to support the idea that it was.
