It's one of those odds things. Sooner or later a person will ask for something that is due to happen anyway. It is then claimed a miracle and the 50000 other prayers that were not answered are forgotten. It is all about saving face and loopholes.

Oh, you have actual numbers and not just ones pulled out of your hat?

Try actually looking. Otherwise, your imaginary friend whispering math into your ear is feeding you a line of bull.

Ours at least wrote it down in a book.

whoever's been brainwashing you is doing one good job at it..

the bible was never written by god..it was written by people and twisted around so as to benefit the church..most of it isn't really history but fiction and that's a fact..what little remains of real history has been changed over the centuries..
believe it all you want, it's a free country..would anyone be interested in buying the brooklyn bridge..I can get a great deal on it..cheap!!

Well, whatever spoiled tin foil hat that got you to believe the vast majority of the people you walk by every day and intereact with are brainwashed and stupid ... well?

Here is the things slick, those of us who have read the Bible know that there are two distinct Canon in the Bible, and the creation process for the two Canon are distinct and different. The second is the recorded historical record of one Jesus Christ and his teachings. Now Jesus being the Son of God and all, and that hostory being his teachings with a known authorship in most cases?

Well, I guess the summarized version was an insult, the result of brainwashing?

No offense brother, but mayeb you should take a good hard look at your atheist peers and figure out why you all sound absolutely identical? Indicates some kind of indoctrination too me.

Also indicates that the depth of atheism is essentially an emotional fad. Just like .. Kaballa or whetever the hell Madonna was.

Furthermore, the threat of eternal punishment for the rejection of the doctrine just adds to my dismay. I personally do not like the idea of a totalitarian dictator punishing me for my thoughts, but thats just me.

Atheism is just No belief in God(s). Can someone not believe in God and also not believe in evolution?

Yep, that is why God gave you something called free will. Stupid dictator.

Is there soem reason that any extremist dolt can deliberately and repeatedly misrepresent Christianity and teh assembled sheep of atheism, so driven by logic, will sit in enraptured silence and nod their heads rather than say, "Wait bro, I think there is no God, but is not what the vast majority of Christians believe - we win no points be dumping strawmen arguements about others out there that clearly conflict with the reality of the faiths teachings."

Atheists all eat small children after boiling them in the blood of vampire bats.

I wonder if anyone will tell me that such statements are faulty?

Totally possible, but highly unlikely. If I met an extremely intelligent atheist who did not accept evolution, I would actually be curious as to why.

I never said stupid and I was referring to jesus freaks..ya know the type, constantly quoting excerpts from the bible supposedly written by people that were enlightened by the holy spirit..but that don't mean god wrote it..people wrote it and in many cases some very delusional people..many people have done some crazy things in the name of god..Bush is a good example..

I had a baptist preacher do some sheetrock work on my house..he's a contractor and he invited me to his sunday sermon..I figured wtf..it'd be interesting..good god, it was just like something out of a movie..people crying, screaming, waving their arms up in the screaming alleluia..fake healing and over all just plain nuts..now that's brainwashing..what else can you call it??
I've been to protestant, catholic and jewish services and at least there people act normal..that's why jesus freaks scare me..their crazy enough to do anything like blow up an abortion clinic in the name of god..

I find it difficult to believe (providing "God" means any of the monotheistic creator gods) but there is a resident poster who claims just that, DBM aka FDS. Perhaps he'll chime in on this.

That's called praising God and it is a joyful thing for a lot of Church goers .... So was that interesting ?

I have never been to one of those fake healing Churches but they are by far, not the norm. Were you covered by rattle snakes as well ?

I’m sure it possible. Anything is possible. I’ve always said, any event will happen if given enough chances. Finding one person who does not 'believe' in Evolution or in 'god' out of 7 billion is certainly possible.

In the garden, God gave the world to man. Man gave it over to evil (pain and suffering). Because of the agreement God made with man and because God lives within his agreements and laws, He can only operate through certain channels allowed by man's Free will.

That's right, God would not be God if He did not abide by His own laws. Children are staring in Africa because man choose poorly. Now he end runs around these bad decision by blessing those that seek Him and sending them with help. (Christian organizations keep tens of thousands from starving everyday) But he will not cross a Humans free will. We get to choose our fate.

Now sometimes bad things happen to good people. Once again, God gets blamed but the truth is, we live in a fallen, dark world and there are always consequences for a person choices. Many times those choices effect others. For instance, our founding Fathers chose freedom for all. God was able to bless this good choice and therefore we as a nation have been blessed beyond others. But, Jesus didn't promise a perfect life. In fact he promised one with trouble. He encouraged us to find peace with in so we can be happy even in the darkness.

I don't know why I am even typing this. I know that your heart is hard and its made you unable to see the things you desperately seek. I am not sure why you hate God, but I am willing to bet the farm you blame him for things that are NOT His doing.

You are wrong! You are special! You and every other human on this planet. We lose our humanity if we lose the our appreciation and respect for life.

Who said anything about losing respect for life? Jumping over board are we?

Life is not special. As we find more and more planets, we will find that there is an abundance of life in the universe.

What I find amusing is people that think humans are so special, that some supernatural being made some deal with us. If this supernatural creature does indeed exist at all (which is highly doubtful) that this supernatural creature wouldn't care about us at all.

If you logically think about this, that is the only conclusion to come too. Even if each galaxy in this universe contained one, just one civilization intelligent enough to fly its specie from one body in its solar system to another, we are talking BILLIONS of intelligent civilizations in the universe. BILLIONS!

To think that humans are special and that some supernatural creature would care about us, is rather egotistical on humans part.

Not egotistic, humbling. That the creator of the universe and all its worlds and life, loves each one. If you think about it, the only conclusion to all the coincidences upon coincidences in the universe is that there is an all powerful being orchestrating it all. It is IMPOSSIBLE that so many accidents happen to make just this world and all its incredible ecosystems work perfectly together.

If life is not special, then offer yours up in the name of Atheism. I dare you to say that you are willing to die for the cause of Atheism. If you do say it, then you need to be the lead man of all the atheists, in a physical frontal assault against all Theists of the world. No heart, no bravery, no macho attitude?

As for what you think the future will hold in regard to finding more planets and more forms of life.... You got .... Just sheer speculation on your part. You have no more idea of what details are going to happen in the next hour than does anyone else.

Quite an outspoken opinion, but I am certain that there are some on this forum that would find equal if not more humor in your opinion.

    Show PROOF of your claim.

If grasshoppers carried 45's, birds wouldn't mess with them.

To deny that humans are special is to lose your position with 'logic': Logically, if humans were not special, then we would all be like the earthworms that crawl, slither, burrow in the dirt, eating whatever was available in that 'dirt' and decaying matter found in the dirt. Welcome to the wonderful-non special-earthworm laden world of rstones199.
