what do you do when it's shower time after gym class in middle school and high school? Do you offend all of the female population by sending in a child with the same exact plumbing "but is really a boy"? Or, do you send in a developed girl "who is really a boy" into a shower room with naked boys? What about the coach? Which coach sees her/him naked?

Please don't put words into my mouth. I said nothing about the foster care system. It is always best to place children with loving and supportive, stable family members. i would bet you this child has a slew of them who would have loved to help out when she was younger. Now that she is 7 and mom has her convinced she is a boy???... it is far less likely that extended family will taker her on and move her in with their own children. If we intervene when the abuse starts.. and yes.. a mother who decides her 18 month old girl "thinks she's a boy" and begins regarding her as such is abusing the child... there is a much better chance of avoiding the foster care system all together and providing a healthier family home life for the child.

There is abuse occurring. The parent's rights do not exceed the welfare of the child. Intervention is a preventative measure... Not a method to punish the mother.. but a method to save the child from suffering further and more damaging abuse.

When the mother takes the child on a trip to a foreign country and returns with the surgery having already been completed.. what do you tell the child? "We were waiting for solid proof your mother was a moon bat. Now that we have it, we can help you. Oh BTW.. sorry about that little makeshift appendage down there. Hope you weren't ever planning on having kids.. or a bf for that matter"

BTW.. my comments on pedophilia were in response to someone else asserting that it is genetic. I'm not saying transgenders are pedophiles. I am saying both are products of sick minds and young children should be protected from it.. not subjected to it for the sake of the rights and agendas of others.

that right there is where political correctness won't help. Nobody would dare state that indoctrinating a child into being a transgender is abuse. The media would be all over you

    Yes

Who's promoting violence? This sick bastard of a "father" turned his child into a transgendered child instead of allowing it to grow up like a normal child.

This is exactly what I mean when I say the homosexual agenda, which is forcing us to accomadate them whether we want to or not.

How are the boys supposed to take their showers with a girl, pretending to be a guy, taking a shower with them? You expect 7 year old boys to pee in front of this girl. yOU people are crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are transgender people mental patients? Not unless they have sought psychiatric or psychological help. Without that they aren't patients at all. They are just mentally ill.

They aren't making it a public issue. Honestly the rest of us are. If I wanted to get a drivers license and was told I couldn't because I am female or straight or a certain height or weight.. or because the government or ?moral majority" didn't approve of my sex partner... I would raise seven kinds of hell and shout injustice and violation of my basic human rights from the roof tops to any and everyone who would listen... and rightly so. These are all things that are no ones business but my own and the government and public at large should have no say in it or deny me a legal drivers license because of it.

The same is true for a marriage license.

If the government and the rest of us stayed out of their personal lives by ceasing to attempt to dictate their human rights and relegate them to a second class status because we don't approve of where they choose to place their genitals... they would have no cause to make their "issue" a public one.

They make their issue a public one by trying to force us to accept a 7 year old girl as a boy and allow her in a public boys bathroom.

I don't think anyone has tried to force you to accept anything and what you are speaking of is a transgender issue.. not a lesbian or gay issue. This is why I take issue with the lumping of all of these people into one category. It's like saying straight men and sexist abusive men are one in the same and have the same issue. They are not. Straight or gay or even bisexual.. is about love and relationships. Transgender is about self-perception and self-acceptance.

Sticking transgenders and queers into the same category as LGB in an attempt to legitimize transgenders and self=proclaimed "queers"... does nothing but reduce the legitimacy of LGBs. It is something you would expect the religious right to do.. and it astounds me that so many LGBs do not speak out against it.

That is an interesting point that has always stuck in my craw.

Why the hell have the LGB adopted the T?

Earlier in this thread when someone addressed homosexuality when addressing the transgender parent... one of the LGB, I don't remember which one, jumped up angrily shaking the fist saying this had nothing to do with homosexuality... which happens whenever somebody who doesn't care enough about them makes the mistake of addressing them as one in the same... and I quickly had to agree that it was irrelevant...

Well... is it? Is it irrelevant? Do I utter this mantra because I take the LGB which accepts the T as one of their own by their statement that they are not indelibly linked?

I now wish to explore this.

If you believe you are a woman, and you are attracted to women, is that gay?

If you believe you are a woman, though you are a man, and are attracted to men, is that not gay?

Is "gender identity", and God I cannot tell you how much it irks me to use a linguistics term when addressing sex, not at its root, a sexual issue?

If being transgender has nothing to do with homosexuality... why is it part of the homosexual group? Why do they identify with each other? Why to transgenders include themselves with lesbian, gay, bisexuals... and why do they include transgenders with them?

    I take it back...

It does have something to do with homosexuality after all. And quit making the distinction when you identify yourselves with them. They are indelibly tied.

What happens if the credible, board certified psychologist agrees with the previous psychologist and says that the child has a gender identity disorder?

I am not that bad, geez.

But WHAT IF, in this case, the expert IS right?

Then the child has a mental disorder and it should be treated with therapy.

This. Is why the adoption of the T bothers me so much. I am willing to accept that some gay people are just born that way. I do not believe all are. I do not think anyone is born with PTSD. It is onset by trauma. I do not believe peos are born, but made. I think some gays are made, and I think some transgenders are made. I think the ones that aren't are also gay. I think there are physiological indicators which explain what is wrong. I do not believe that you can treat a person born with both genetalia into being normal for instance... and I don't care who they have sex with... however as you CAN screw a kids head up and convince them abnormal behavior is normal, lgbt's should not be given custody of children, and this case is a brilliant example why.

Why should the child be treated with therapy? You know what the standard treatment for someone with gender identity disorder? Surgery to become the preferred sex. Then the person is happy and able to lead a normal, happy life. That says to me that GID is a real 'illness' but not a mental one - if it WAS a mental illness, then medication for mental illness would be needed even after any surgery.

It is a mental disorder. That term comes from the DSM IV... there is nothing, absolutely nothing physically wrong with them.

Not if it WAS a mental illness... it IS a mental illness... and medication is not how you cure mental illness. Medication is how you suppress symptoms stemming from a mental illness.

Wasn't homosexuality in the DSM whatever before, and it was removed?
I don't believe it is a mental illness. Mental means there is a problem with the brain. As the brain believes the body is one sex and the body identifies as the opposite sex, how do we know the brain is correct and the body is wrong?

You need to have this conversation with CMF.

She is the expert. She can explain, whether or not you choose to listen, much better than I.

Because the development of the brain is environmentally influenced and the body is not. Because of chromosomes and DNA. Because the behavior can be induced and is based almost entirely in social constructs. Because it is all in your head. Because of a lot of conversations you don't want to have.

If it is all in your head, then why surgery to change the body? Why not medication to adjust the brain?

MEDICATION IS NOT THE CURE TO MENTAL ILLNESS.

    Why doesn't it always work?

Why do people undergo secondary surgeries to revert back?

Why is the national suicide rate 3%, and transgender suicide around 31%? That is almost 1 in 3.

BECAUSE ITS A (*)(*)(*)(*)ING MENTAL ILLNESS!

Is there anything to show when the transgendered folk commit suicide? Do they kill themselves after reassignment surgery, or before?

I read that on a quick skim of an unsourced transgender website... and decided that couldn't be right... and I can't figure out how they got to that number... so... I did more quick research and it appears 16 in 2000 post-reassignment is an actual number
"Transsexual Surgery: Its Pros and Cons" By Anne Lawrence, M.D.

That is 800 in 100,000. National suicide rate is 11.1 in 100,000.

    Normal happy lives my ass.

Interesting - can you show your source for that? Not that I don't believe you, just want to see it for myself.

I do believe that surgery is the best option for these people - as long as they live their chosen sex for a certain period of time to be 100% certain what they want to do.

    http://www.genderdysphoria.org/genderdysphoria_srs.html

So... maybe even fewer kill themselves after surgery... at a rate insanely higher than normal... hard to say.

68% (of 19) achieved a satisfactory outcome... and it looks like those who didn't, killed themselves at about the same rate as if it had not happened at all.

You know... you don't hear about people in Afghanistan killing themselves because they are trapped in a mans body. I guess they just don't have time for that sort of nonsense.

    But by all means...

    Experiment on children.

I think that is where I am having issue with CMF. Not sure his/her solution is based in today's society. The comment of "why is that 7 year old still with the parent", means Child Services would need to be called. If they take the child away, you don't know where the child would end up. So for me, the burden of proof for mental abuse would have to be strong.

I personally consider transgender and homosexuality closer to a difference in beliefs...not mental insanity. Perhaps being "messed up" has something to do with it, and not genetics. But, you can't take away kids from messed up parents, or you'd have the justice department shuffling kids around every family.
