GOP senators seethe as Trump blows up delicate immigration compromise

Where've you been, that's the standard since 2012 and it predates Donald Trump. One of the things I've consistently complained about, besides the congress's obsession with the international community is their reluctance to actually do something meaningful for us(on both left/right)

Texas is showing just how feckless Biden's government is. As Texans say, Biden is all hat and no cattle. Yankees go home! You have no evidence at all of the deterence capabilities and who may or may not have been deterred. And there is no one thing that solved this issue. But razor wire, amd a wall, are solid and effective parts of a much larger plan.

 

I don't find it too difficult at all.... I assume the latter always... most of the people who have worked for him have never seen the former...

You have a point. Despite big dutiful wall , and all the money Mexico paid for it, America without single undocumented immigrant in USA, Biden took office and destroyed everything. Biden is worse POTUS.

Mexico didn’t pay for the wall.

Trump didn’t send back all the undocumented immigrant back to their country.

I do give one credit to Trump – finally Trump made republican “Open Border Republican” .

You may not appreciate this, but as a liberal it likes our dream comes true. Republicans are for open border, republicans are debating if they are pro-choice or pro-life. Trump truly friend of Democrat!

 

The real tragedy, Darth, is that nobody has done anything really intelligently useful about this horrific invasion of migrants ever since Barack Obama threw the border open completely, starting in 2014.

Trump had a golden opportunity in 2017, but he pissed it away, choosing to spend billions on a laughably-ineffective 'wall' instead of declaring an emergency moratorium on ALL usual migration for an initial period of five years. He could easily have done this -- and justifiably, too -- especially in 2017 because he had a Republican-controlled House and Senate to back him up for TWO YEARS.

Now what have we got? We've got wide-open borders, with 'migrants', welfare-seeking peasants, asylum-scammers, and criminals of every variety streaming in here by the hundreds of thousands. This is how Democrats increase their 'constituencies' -- and it's how Republicans look the other way and LET THEM!

You’re right it should be an American issue. Bipartisan. That’s what the Senate was trying to negotiate.

And Trump is using his influence to kill it - precisely because he doesn’t want “the other guy” to get the credit.

As of now, all Trump supporters are in the “open borders” camp.

 

You don’t consider Democrats and MAGA American? They all want Open border. Just 2 days ago trump said not to pass any bill which secure southern border. And you know Biden, he is always for open border.

 

Clearly we can't control Washington in any way other than a nonbiased approach and vote them out.

First of all, there is no guarantee Biden's handlers will keep their word.
When Prez Reagan made a deal with the dem's, Ted (Hic) Kennedy scuttled all of the border protections before the ink was dry.
All Biden has to do is enforce existing law. In the Trump years, the labor shortage got many poor off the couches and into the workforce, especially young blacks fresh out of high school.
Todays open border is a compromise to protect the poor from work in exchange for a docile low end workforce subsidized by welfare.
The democrats are kidding no one.

 

May be you are right. Americans are for closed border, and secure the border.
