Every one of the victims was unarmed. They thought, "it could never happen here". Between that and the fact that both locations were gun free zones, it was like shooting fish in a barrel. I bet those "no guns allowed" signs will be getting ignored a lot in the future.

The NRA has done a real job on the American public convincing them that they are defenceless without a gun. It seems to have embedded a belief that death is inevitable without a gun on you 24/7. As a member of a nation where the only guns we see are police and security and no one thinks of having to go armed to leave the house I do feel sorry for you

The victims in Lewiston were literally defenseless.

What defense against an active shooter do you recommend?

Have laws that prevent him from buying a gun.

With that, he'll never become an active shooter.

So mass shooters aren't responsible for their actions?

There are laws that prevent him from buying and possessing a gun. They didn't work.

Are the people responsible for enforcing laws that are supposed to stop mass shootings for not enforcing the laws on the books?

So we must remove this law?

How many more guns do we need to add to society to make this country safer?

The US has the worst record of any advanced country on this planet when it comes to mass shootings and one of the highest rate of gun homicide.

There is something to be proud of.

All things considered, you damn right that's something to be proud of.

Clearly the best way to avoid AMERICAS dangers is to move to a country less dangerous.. Because I promise you nothing is going to change in our lifetime.. So why folks would endure such a lifestyle when they can simply move is a mystery to me ;)

No, you don't know what you're talking about.

You are proud that the homicide rate here has fallen by 12% while it remains on average 6x higher than in any Western country.

    It's a shame.

But I'm still going to ask my question again:

How do guns make this country safer?

Mate not that different - convict colony remember? In fact we have a LOT of similarities and our mass shooting rates were mirroring yours until 1996

have you compared the rate of white violence in the USA (the most heavily armed major ethnic group in the world) compared to white rates of violence in nanny state countries.

that's as silly as saying if we have laws against people buying fentanyl we wouldn't have 74,000 deaths from Fentanyl overdoses each year.
