guns are sort of like drugs. when used properly they can help you survive
when they are used improperly they can cost innocents their lives.
Gun control is intended to disarm people who use guns to advance private and public safety while not really impacting those whose actions are deleterious to the public welfare

Except that the statistics clearly show that nations that apply severe controls on guns have homicide rates at least 4x lower than the US.... and I'm not even talking about the appalling number of mass shootings.

 

why does every police department and federal law enforcement agency arm it's officers
why do the people who guard the president carry submachine guns. Mexico has severe gun control laws. So does South Africa. why pretend that public safety is what motivates the almost purely leftwing gun banning movement in the USA?

Utopian fantasies are not a solution. Every country has criminals and crazy people with guns.

...why ours are more prone to going on shooting sprees is a mystery we might wanna put more resources into finding out. Because no amount of gun control is going to prevent the determined from getting them anyway. Or prevent people that are permitted by the govt to have weapons (like military personnel) from misusing their weapons.

 

It's funny how the people that use every new shooting like this as a rallying cry to ban guns don't seem to have any interest and actually getting to the root cause of what motivates people to go and do such things.

It's a sickness in our society and guns are not to blame. Takes the guns away from people like that and they will find another way to kill people like the dollar's worth of gasoline that killed far more than any mass shooting at a nightclub

That’s not something U.S. should be proud of. We must address widespread mental illness and the pathological inequality we’ve been overcome with.

To many Americans have been left out of “The American Dream” and left behind. Violence is the price we’re paying.

 

The very last thing a progressive wants to do is to acknowledge the fact that most of the gun violence in the USA is committed by a very violent percent of individuals that fall within a minority dermagraphic.

Take away gang violence and suicides and the gun violence in the USA looks like many other countries. The rate of gun violence plummets.

But instead of actually identifying where most of the problem comes from, they want to take the guns away from everyone.

Because don't you know it's racist to put your finger too close to the truth

How do mentally ill, Americans with no or very little money, get the help and treatment needed to prevent them going on a killing spree?

 

It's already easier to get then a firearm. Contraband is big business in the U.S. lots of customers.

 

If they would actually seek medical attention or admit they had a problem..
