Without going through the entire thread I risk repeating someone. There are only two reasons for this stunt and neither has to do with shedding light on the process.
The jackass leading them is setting himself up to replace Trump on the ticket in the event Trump is impeached and removed from office or perhaps to replace Pence.
The other reason which is straight out of Trump's playbook, do something incredibly weird to try and distract from the process itself since they apparently have no defense to offer.

Closed door hearing are far from rare, 32 of the 33 Benghazi hearings were behind closed doors for example. The exception being Clinton's. House rules also specifically state that closed door hearings are not spectator events and uninvited non-committee members are not allowed. This stunt was nothing short of witness tampering. Trump will get his day in court if impeached and that is when he and his handlers will get to face his accusers not before.

Beneghazi wasn't an "impeachment inquiry" - and many hearings were open to the public, I recall seeing Clinton testify twice for example...once, and then again after her illegal server was discussed, and the content highlighted the coverup, and once after

LOL! Yes, by all means have Trump testify. We all know that he wouldn't last 2 minutes without perjuring himself. That's why it won't happen.

When did I say anything about the President giving testimony to Congress? Has that ever happened? Did Bill even testify at his Impeachment Trial?

Actually, I think its a response to being chastised by Trump for not defending him vociferously enough.

You mean the front page news quotes of the people giving testimony?

    Being deliberately obtuse again ?

Nobody is saying they do, however there are rules and they were not followed. The congressmen who violated them intentionally should be disciplined by the house.

So is the process they are protesting. Protests, by the way, often break rules.

Nobody has posted links to any testimony or created any threads. I have seen quotes from people like Shifty...giving his review of testimony or evidence...often it doesn't match what is released, like the phone transcript.

Oh, I definitely voted for her, holding my nose all the way. Anyone is better than Trump.

That was just sarcasticly pointing out yet another of the endless Hillary whataboutisms that got old a couple years ago and now are just ashes. Apologies if you took it as snark, or an insult.

So congress is a grand jury? So if they leak they should be prosecuted? The fact you are still investigating and doing it in secret means everything you have now isn't enough to impeach. If Democrats believed their own propaganda they would have impeached trump 3 times over already.

Bullpucky. Gaetz has not been barred from any of the official proceedings. He'll say or do anything Trump tells him, hence his participation in ths stunt when he could have been in his chair, asking questions, doing his effing job.

He claims he was barred from a hearing? Got proof?

They are not acting as police, struth. They are acting as a grand jury. They do have not just the power, but the duty to investigate the Executive branch of government. This is a vital part of the checks and balances our founders built into our Constitution.

Perhaps. These Republicans have become Trump's sycophants.
