    Meh.

You can create usergroups. If you want a nice circle jerk where no one questions your beliefs and you can all nod and say "oh yeah, I agree, How can you be so right all the time?", then start a usergroup and refrain from posting your beliefs on an open forum.

    Problem solved.

This from teh guy who started this thread?

    http://www.politicalforum.com/forum-help-feedback-etc/219610-how-far-can-we-divert-debates.html

What posts like this demonstrate is the ability of abusive posters to justify their actions. When someone stood up to our hero above, he had no problem specifically asking the asembled moderators to make the bad man stop!

Course, he, and other troublesome atheists are all about questioning?

Well, I would say that running around accusing people of being rapists and murderers, being castigated by fear and irratonality, with an almost ritualitic frequency and complete disregard for rebuttal or evidence to the contrary are not simply questioning someone else's faith:

They are launching a campaign of harassment. And it is not confined to atheists.

Is THAT JUST the questioning of Islam?

Is this a discussion of our Holy Book?

And the many unsavory comments had to be deleted from the same thread, I mean comments like asking people to wipe their ass with the Bible are spot on in terms of objective criticism.

Once again, I ask the mods to reconsider a simple solution: ban the use of deliberately prejorative phrases like, Nazi, rapist, etc.

This would bring this forum in line with many other forums:

People who use these tactics are not discussing anything, nor are they questioning anything. Nothing good comes from tolerating this tactic on this forum, but we continue to allow it ...

And we continue to accept the excuse that it is JUST questioning someone? Right. :bored:

Yeah christians have done a lot.....BS
Christian waged war, christians burned people at the stake, christians burned and drowned women for being witches, christians hindered science, christians rape and molest kids and the list goes on and on.
The catholic "faith" is by far the most evil thing on earth and should be banned.

Wow, Obama's a Muslim? Weird how he's only gone to Christian churches his entire adult life for worship, then.

Uh, no, by including YHWH in the federal infrastructure, the foundation upon which the nation was built would be destroyed.

And this is why Christians are made fun of: scaremongering about nonexistent threats.

The Constitution and Treaty of Tripoli disagree with that notion.

And atheists raped and mirdered their way across the Steppes *Ghengis Khan, purged millions of innocent people in the Cultural Revolution and in Stalin's purges, and props up a little dictator who has allowed millions of people to starve to death while calling himelf the correct way.

Clearly atheism is evil and should be banned.

OK mods, this guy is three threads doing the same thing to multiple posters, and, just like above, the ritualistic ranting of Christians being evil and worse, is not debate - its simple flame bait and trolling.

If atheists need tod efend their faith by calling others rapists, then atheism has no defense or support.

Do atheists need this? Is there a reason why we tolerate these antics? Not just onec from a poster, but over and over and over and over ... that is not debate is it?

Oh, the Constitution was not written by Christians? Interesting notion.

I didn't realize that the Treaty of Tripoli was one of our funding documents. Most people would have gone to the Bill of Rights asthe next most important document - but what would they know?

Contrary to this, Genghis Khan is said to have worshipped (possibly Shaman or Tengriism) and guaranteed freedom of religion and the rights of Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, and Hindus. He also protected enemy envoys and ambassadors, no matter what message they brought and eschewed torture and mutilation of prisoners.

The poster is stating his opinion...

Yeah dude, didnt you know the Khan family was loved by all during their time! I mean even though they raped and murdered the country side, they let those dead men, women, and children have freedom of religion!

Have you ever read anything about Ghengis Khan or the Mongol Empire? He united tribe after tribe into a confederation.

"Genghis Khan has been branded the greenest invader in history - after his murderous conquests killed so many people that huge swathes of cultivated land returned to forest.
The Mongol leader, who established a vast empire between the 13th and 14th centuries, helped remove nearly 700million tons of carbon from the atmosphere, claims a new study.
The deaths of 40million people meant that large areas of cultivated land grew thick once again with trees, which absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Firstly, the forum is running so slow I wandered off then.

    Secondly, not a dude.

Thirdly, Khan doesn't appear to have been atheist. Therefore, Neutral's assertion that atheists did a, b and c don't relate to Khan's activities.

Not entirely; further, they certainly didn't found the USA on Christian principles, it was founded as a secular nation.

Treaties supersede all US laws except the Constitution, ergo, a unanimously ratified treaty stating the the US was not founded on Christianity (especially when it was negotiated by the diplomatic corps of George Washington and signed by President John Adams), well, I should imagine that's pretty conclusive proof that it wasn't founded on Christianity.

You have no idea what the hell you're talking about. The treaty testifies to the founding of the US government, not the United States; and it is not arguable that the overwhelming majority of the Founders were professing Christians.

C'mon people, atrocities have been committed by human beings, some of which are Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Buddhists, Hindus...or whatnot.
We can't help what's past, but we can make a better effort in the future.
Looking at all the hatred hurled back and forth, it seems we have a long way to go and no one is particularly innocent.

^ Best thing posted on here so far. To single one group out as being evil, when evil comes from all walks of life, is arrogant at best.

Things that Temujin did differently from the majority of other leaders of the time: allowed his subjects to worship whomever they pleased, allowed meritocracy within his armies.

Temujin wasn't a nice guy, but you're not going to find a monarch of that era who was, really. The 13th century was full of murderous leaders, so claiming that Temujin was somehow worse then any others is rather stupid. He was simply a better leader then, say, King Richard or Salah al-Din.

The United States is the US government, thanks for playing. It is nonsensical to speak of the United States as divorced from the government. The constituents of the government might be Christian, but the government is a secular entity without any Christian foundation and is totally divorced from any and all religion.

The biggest failure is to believe there are "seculars" states.

Only the constitutionally illiterate believe that, so it's no wonder you have nothing to contribute here but threadbare imbecilities.
