Without a strap it would be fair - all animals would be exactly the same.

    Oh no....esssssss!!!!!!

We cannot possibly abide that, can we!

We must artificially keep this beast pissed off and goad it beyond its natural willingness for our amusement.

    Jolly good!

Well, you should have included an explanation of your opinion.

I realized we do eat meat. But, that doesn't cut it as an excuse for rodeos.

Read the OP. it's about urban areas dictating what goes on in rural areas also.

Again, the lack of education on horses just flies right over that head, doesn't it
Do you conflate everything you read because you lack the talent to actually dispute something
Or have you done it so much its just out of habit now?

Now you can read post #85 as it pertains to posters like yourself

Really, and you know this from your extensive experience with professional bucking stock, or just spit balling?

You can always tell when a poster starts in with uneducated banter about a subject they are totally clueless in.
    Would you like an example?
Some horses will run to the other end of the arena before they start bucking which introduces speeds up to 40 mph which endangers the animal, the cowboy, and the spectators.
Some will stand in an open chute confused and trying to move him out risk injury to the cowboys on the ground and the animal in the open chute gate.
The flank strap keeps their minds on their job and guarantees they will buck on the first jump out thus clearing the chute clean, making sure the horse doesn't bolt to the other end of the arena or freeze in the chute providing a safer experience for all involved.

What else did you not know about professional bucking stock you would like to share.

I’m just saying that if none of the horses had straps, they would be equal. That’s a fact.
They might behave differently from each other, but they would be equal.

To be honest I’m ambivalent about this. I have no strong view either way. Allow it, ban it - makes no difference to me.

You need to recognize that the values of society change over time. You may embrace some of those changes and reject others. What we see as barbaric today was acceptable two hundred or two thousand years ago. Not today. This may just be another change.

I don't need to know anything about horses to understand something you don't...you are abusing horses for your entertainment. You cannot deny it. Initially you excused it because, you said, they got the best water and feed. You just do not see how entirely irrelevant that is or that it is beside the point that the horse is useless as an entertainment beast if after two goes in a rodeo without prods it would no longer have value...as a rodeo animal.

    Good!

We don't need rodeos at the expense of artificially making animals uncomfortable, do we?

You just don't understand, do you.

No rodeo.....no danger or risk of injury to the animal.

    Get it?

You say...danger, risk avoided because of flank strap.

I say, flank strap is abuse of the beast, making it uncomfortable so it will do things merely for your amusement, things it does not want to do.

My aunt raised and rode quarter horses. She was one of the best in the nation for decades. She died at the age of 79 immediately following her last ride. Her horses LOVED to run the barrels. You have no idea of the bond between barrel racers and their owners... none. You have spent your entire life completely separated from the food chain and nature. You (like myself) are living in a way that humans were never designed to exist. People who spend their lives engaged with the natural world have a far more rewarding and meaningful existence. They have something to live, fight and die for.

This is not attack on rodeos, it is an attack on civil society by elite globalists (Newsome is an acolyte of the WEF). It is attack on independent people who live self sufficient lives. Free people who are engaged with their ancients bonds to nature are the deadly enemy of coercive state power and their traditions must be dismantled.

Here is my aunt kicking ass and taking names....

Yeah, I get it. You would rob these animals of the absolute best life any horse could possibly wish for because bucking (which they do naturally) is hurting their feelings because they have to do it 16 seconds a month for amusement. You would prefer they pull wagons or work ranches 7 days a week because that isn't for amusement.

And by the way, This flank strap you claim is an abuse to horses, ranch horses are trained to use a double girth roping saddles where the second girth is around the rear of the belly to keep the saddle from lifting when roping cattle.

Perhaps it will be replaced with gay bareback riding!

We are neither making excuses for nor asking permission of your ilk to hold a professional rodeo and to attend one. It’s a part of our history and culture and we are not going to give it up or ask permission of big city dwellers to do it.

The principle is the same. Big city jerk wads getting themselves off trying to dictate to rural people how we must live our lives in the environment around us. Sheer condescending arrogance is what it is. This is one of those hot button culture war issues we rural regions will not yield on.

Imagine an entire party fighting to provide drag queens to 5 year olds and fighting to have the right to teach them gay and trans sexuality issues.
What is it about the left who coddles pedophiles.

Or you posting anything on topic.

Indeed it is. They do it on guns too but our sheriffs don’t go around enforcing that either. We get sick and tired of those people trying to tell us how to live on so many different issues. Fortunately our sheriffs, school boards, city councils, and county supervisors, and our congressman are a good buffer between us and those people.

They would be happy to ban horse racing and meat eating too if only they could.
