Because they think that people are stupid, when they tell them that anesthesiology should send separate bill.
Anesthesiology IS A PART of surgery, that is it, there is NO WAY it can be separated.
It has been done intentionally to hide charges, but yea, people are stupid they do not understand how insurance companies are committing a crime.

Funny...how is it I wasn’t charged this extra bill by the anesthesiologist for my hernia surgery? How is is my mother wasn’t charged by her anesthesiologist for her mastectomy?

How do you see raising the minimum wage as being beneficial to anyone other than the person making minimum wage? Minimum wage was never intended to be a living wage. It is a starting point. Maybe we should set a maximum wage, say $40 per hour. Anyone making over that amount would then be required to give it to the government to give to the poor.

Because you are the beneficiary of the corrupt system.
Mafia takes care of their people.
You have told me that you worked for them for many years.

Ok, I will admit I am wrong on how Medicare is paid in and paid out. However I don't see how you are paying for me "NOW". I don't know what you mean the I "agreed to that stupid system". If you are referring to Medicare, it was started when I was 7 years old. Not that it matters what system you are talking about because I didn't agree to any government system. I carry private health insurance.

    Kreo,
As you are well aware I am a little slow. Please explain again how you see that others are stealing from you; how you see that you are paying for other's private insurance.

Making it illegal to hire low-wage workers seems very hurtful to those workers. Why do you want to hurt the most vulnerable, sky-dive gurl?

But, YOU keep proposing you would like there to be fewer of this kind of agency - pointing to the FACT that each one comes with its own overhead. And, you're OK with it failing to meet healthcare distribution needs (leaving us well down the list of industrialized nations), as well as being rife with special purpose overhead.

And, I keep proposing that we get rid of ALL of that by having one system while doing a far better job of getting healthcare to our citizens through private enterprise providers.

How come you don't like getting rid of all these various special purpose government programs by having Medicare subsume them with one program that has proven to be run highly efficiently?

I know you complain about fraud. But, I already pointed out major categories of fraud that would no longer even exist - not just be reduced.

Let me speak for two major hospitals.

San Joaquin County Hospital has 196 beds. San Joaquin County is a large country. Alameda County where I live has a number of hospitals.
Washington Hospital here has 355 beds. Fremont has Kaiser hospital as well.

San Joaquin has inmates inside handcuffed to beds. The building is a mixture of ancient to fairly new. The new part is much nicer.

I swear that as a patient, this will truly annoy any patent. The night shift of nurses speak Tagalog meaning they speak a Philippine language. Do you believe you can take them chattering all night long? They seem to not care now noisy they are as patients try to sleep.

The Surgeon there was in residence. She to me seemed satisfactory yet short on talking to patients She told me she was job hunting in AZ.

I had surgery later at Washington Hospital in my city. I believe their service was vastly superior. The hospital was almost new as to appearance. They do not have an ancient wing with a new wing. At San Joaquin the place is bombarded with illegal aliens. It has been since 2011 that i was a patient in Washington but there the patents seemed more natives to Fremont.

Hospitals are notoriously bad places to try to get a night's sleep. They keep wanting to check to see if you're dead yet, etc., etc.

I don't share your aversion to language. The next time you're in, how about having them teach you some Tagalog?

Might I suggest, "Where are the keys to these handcuffs?"

Nobody said you had to buy private insurance. Except the authors of the ACA.

Remember that the ACA was created by bipartisan committees in the House and Senate with full representation by Republicans. That process lasted many months, with all committee members free to disclose progress. NO Republican has EVER attempted a legitimate overhaul of our healthcare system in such a manner! Not ever!

The reason for the mandate came from insurance companies and Republicans.

Insurance companies pointed out that they can't remain in business if customers can jump in only after they get sick.

And, during the Clinton years Republicans came up with the idea of requiring everyone to buy insurance, thuse solving this problem that insurance companies have.

They did this as part of their counter to the direction that Clinton was pushing.

I probably make more in donations that you make in a year. I prefer helping the poor with my tax dollars and you prefer helping with the corporate billionaires. We just have different values

If you weren’t serious I would be laughing because you just totally made up something I never said. I don’t see how raising the minimum wage means making it illegal to hire a lower wage earners. Why don’t you want to raise the wages of the most vulnerable when the profits are in the billions? PS I’m not a sky dive girl… I’m a sky dive woman

Your lack of understanding is not evidence of fraud. It is merely evidence of your ignorance.

And please keep making those donations. I would not be surprised if you did donate more than I make. I don't make much. What I do make I earn through my hard work; what I have I have because of my ability to understand the value of a dollar.

I think it depends on the hospital or surgery center. Some have staff anesthesiologists some subcontract it out. I have a friend who is an anesthesiologist. He owns his own company and contracts with hospitals. When he did a block for my wife’s wrist surgery we got a separate bill from his company. It wasn’t fraud.

    Highly efficient at wasting money.........:roflol:

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/merrill...dicaid-fraud-is-costing-taxpayers-billions/2/

    http://www.upi.com/Health_News/2013/04/10/HHS-budget-up-4-billion-Medicare-cut/UPI-35481365627852/

$60 to $90 billion in fraud per year is hardly "more efficient". The CBO has identified $48 Billion in "improper payments" Medicare alone.

Thus, 213 million private insured with $174 billion in fraud = $816 in fraud per insured.
44 million covered by Medicare with $48 billion in "improper payments" not counting all the fraud = $1,090.90 per insured.

That's just with the known improper payments, not all of the fraud.

I'm not talking about Canada, take NYC and soda regulations. You think the nanny staters will stop there? When the system slowly goes broke, they'll look to other means of revenue. Smoke weed or tobacco, your taxes go up, drink alcohol, your taxes go up eat Hostess HoHo's......your taxes go up.
