Biden claimed that inoculation using the vaccines would result in immunity from Covid. Do you thick he came up with that himself or was repeating what medical experts told him?

But we give up tax revenue provided by foreigners. Depending upon the product, especially if it's a product with an inelastic demand, one we subsidized with government funding, or a natural resource, we may be passing up revenue without harming sales appreciably.
If the producer faces a highly elastic demand, it may only reduce the producer's profit.
Government provides services we want and/or need. Someone has to pay.
"Starve the beast?" It has a long history of not working.

Maybe we should focus on paying for services we want.

You try to shift the blame all day long, but the bottom line is that Donald Trump, (who is your political leader and idol), stood in front of the TV cameras and issued the close-down guidelines in a prime-time address. Those are the facts. As for "respective governors", we have one here in Florida whose name is DeSantis. He took Trump guidelines as an order, and closed down Florida long and hard, but if you ask him now, he lays 100% of the blame on Trump. Blame-shifting and inability to own ones actions is an old Republican tradition, so its not surprising its happening here today.

If that's what he said, then that's what he said. It would be dishonest to blame someone else for his words. No one forced him to say it.

There may be a net benefit to decreasing taxes, but then there are circumstances where cutting taxes is arguably a bad idea.

    Why?
And who said Sweden was completely honest?
Did Sweden have open travel in and out of country during the entire pandemic?

Difference between 1919 and 2019, schools basically shut down for covid.
And I did post evidence the 2 viruses were different types.
But one can look at the number of cases vs number of deaths between the 2 and get some correlation.

So, how can anyone claim we were wrong when all the evidence says we weathered this quite well overall.
Sure there's differences, but viruses are viruses and these 2 transmitted the same. Cases per 1M people would be very very similar.
    There were not.

What is your expertise in the area of economics?
Where did you get your degree?
What work did you do as an economist?

Both were repeating what medical experts had told them. The lockdowns were an extremely bad policy and the vaccines have not provided immunity. Those are the facts. Both Presidents did not make these statements out of thin air.

Viruses are not viruses. The Spanish flu virus is orders of magnitude more deadly than Covid.

I have a MS in engineering and my name on 17 patents. I have read extensively on economics. Compared to engineering, economics is trivial.

Did someone force your leader to make those statements on prime time address? I know you love your leader, but sheesh man........

I said they transmit very very similar. That was shown to you in my link earlier.
And these 2 viruses did transmit very very similar.

So that means the # of cases per 1M people would be very very similar if the same actions took place between the 2 time frames.
I am not correlating deaths in this at all.

No. Both made statements based on the advice and recommendations of medical experts.

I have a BS in EET. A few patents, read on economy as well.
I don't pretend to know more that those with econ degrees or teachers of econ.

I suspect you would not want an econ major to tell you the details of designs.

You can’t compare the effects of viruses without consideration of their lethalities. It doesn’t make sense.

Why not? They may well have some specific knowledge and valid ideas. The technicians I worked with always had good inputs whilst the engineering director was often in left field.

Sigh....... go ahead and vote for more politicians whose only job is to parrot other peoples words and later blame it on someone else.

    Why?
Deaths are a consequence of a virus.

How much transmission each has is comparable.

The technicians were also trained in your field.
Would you trust a technician in the econ field to give you input on a design?

That doesn't mean someone trained in econ could not offer a good idea, like I think things will work better if this valve was slightly larger. Because they may have some personal experience on a similar product.
But to take their knowledge of engineering over your other engineer coworkers all the time would be kind of foolish.

So it seems as if you agree that the lockdowns recommended by the CDC and coronavirus task force were an extremely ill advised policy which caused more harm than good. Were you vocalizing this starting in March of 2020?

I am forming my ideas and opinions based on what I have read and my experience in solving problems. Again, economics is very easy to understand.

You have some major comprehension problems. I have not said anything about them being effective or not effective, I am simply saying the lock-down guidelines were issued by Donald Trump in a prime time national TV broadcast on March 20, 2020.

So you agree with locking down the economy and closing schools for ~ 2 years ?? If so then why are you pointing out that Trump announced the guidelines formulated by medicl guidelines?
