The first step is establishing that Jesus existed, that has been accomplished so now as you said is to learn if he is the Son of God. For now science has not yet been able to factually established that all they have discovered is that Jesus Christ did perform and live a very miraculous-religious life that no normal humans could have. Science is short of confirming he is the Son of God and IMO science is holding their confirmation because of lack of factual evidences that science require of, all they have for now is theories just like any science theories that is still under research that is this case Jesus is or could be the Son of God based on events in his time, his ministry, his none fear of the authorities, his appeal to the people he touch and interacted, his life and most of all how history took a 360 degree turn because of his resurrection. No other religious person has successfully resurrected even in the east the belief in reincarnation for the holiest monk has not resurrected.

    - - - Updated - - -

The final step is proving he is the Son of God, unfortunately as we can see it even if science has proven the existence of Jesus Christ there are still people who refused to believe in it and this goes back to Eisenhower great quote “Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.”

Jesus Christ himself was around and they still did not believe they had to put him to death to destroy him and his teachings and when it did not work they still refused to believe. In fact, there are still people and this include some Christians who do not believe in the effectiveness of modern medical vaccination for the prevention of diseases and sickness.

    1. Science has beyond reasonable doubt confirm the existence, historicity of Jesus of Nazareth also known as Jesus Christ. Without the Bible especially the Resurrection modern science would not have got involved but most of all there would be no Christianity at all.
    2. The silencing of Jesus Christ has failed because Christ followers the Apostles started to write down everything about Christ which is preserved in the Bible and from there modern science continue on to confirm it without the Gospel writers the Pharisees would have succeeded in eradicating and silencing the teachings of Christ and thus prevented us from knowing that God is real.
    3. Conspiracy are based on unfounded facts and evidences which enemies of the church and Christ have resorted to that is why they are not able to provide evidences to proof that Jesus of Nazareth the Christ is a myth all they have succeeded is [providing their mythical claims.
    4. There is always and will be those who will never believe in facts and Eisenhower put it best to quote; ““Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses -because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.”

History is short in confirming Christ was the son of some god. There is no factual evidence in any way, shape or form that Christ was the son of some god, only myths and legends.

To learn of Jesus is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.

No it hasn't. Otherwise such information would be MUCH more widely distributed than on a few fundamentalist websites. Mainstream churches and the Catholic Church would have issued statements about such "evidence".

All "evidence" is either The Gospels....or things written years, even decades after Jesus' supposed life and death.

So FIRST you say there was a conspiracy that eliminated all the "other contemporaneoous evidence"....then you say the conspiracy failed.

Which is it? Did the Pharisee conspiracy work....or fail?

Now, you're back to the "prove a negative"..."PROVE that Jesus didn't exist"....which immediately creates the "Okay, PROVE that Santa Claus doesn't exist."

Except there is no newsreel film footage or video footage of ANYTHING you are claiming....so your analogy, which is false and flawed....also shows the ERROR in your own premises.

    Bad move, dude. :)

    - - - Updated - - -

If somebody has a different view of what that wisdom is than yours....you label it "evil".

    Right?

    - - - Updated - - -

Isn't it INTERESTING though....that people (Christians) who ONCE relied on FAITH...

now want SCIENCE and HISTORICAL FACT.....to prove what they believe?

    It's like....faith isn't "enough" for them anymore????

Most of the positive arguments I've seen on the "Jesus never existed" side involve false representations of comparative mythology (mostly the claims about the similarities with Horus) or are based on arguing that Paul did not believe in a flesh-and-blood Jesus. The later typical rests on an interpretation of a verse from Hebrews, which most Biblical scholars don't even believe was written by Paul.

Richard Carrier is the only person I can think of who has done truly academic work in advancing this position, but even he admits that the academic consensus is that Jesus existed, and that arguments to the contrary require some substantial evidence if they want to present a competing theory. He obviously feels he has fulfilled that requirement, though I respectfully disagree. Still, I highly recommend his speeches and writings.

The fear of losing the ego, the self image, to death, created the gods, all of them, and their sons, their prophets who make a profit. If there was no fear man would never have invented these gods.

If the gods really existed, as man created them, and if they wanted us to know of them, and what they expect of us, they would be revealing themselves everyday around the world. If they were serious about being respected, loved, worshipped. If they really gave a (*)(*)(*)(*) about humanity. Occam's Razor is your friend.

These gods would never depend upon ancient texts, from thousands of years ago, to tell humanity of their existence. For man is above all else, habitual liars, especially if they can gain personally from the lie. Or if they can exert control over others, relying upon the fear of losing the ego in death.

If the gods do exist, some creative force outside of time, space, matter, they sure would not be these goons that man dreamed up. And if a creative force does exist, apparently this force doesn't care if you know a thing about it or not. It created the universe and then got lost. If IT shows up, I will of course change my mind, based upon a fact.

Common sense. A statue depicting someone that weighs 350 pounds, telling one about self-discipline, really? A religion that asks of the killing of those who don't believe, really? A religion of justice, love, mercy, and forgiveness, and all the laws pertaining to the tem commandments. Sounds like a civilization of peace, love, righteousness, divinity, holy.

Jesus is in the same sense of myth as Achilles was. In that Troy existed. So he must've as well. But was he invincible? Did his mother dunk him in some magical pond?

When you use common sense, its easy to separate myth from fact.

Actually even if they have a different view, I am sure, or at least I hope they have the wisdom to identify evil, when they see it.

To learn of Jesus is wisdom, to depart from evil is understanding. No wisdom can be gained more-so, than that of the word of God. Here is true wisdom.

What are you talking about? Im saying that he himself was not a myth, but like Achilles, the magical nonsense surrounding him was a myth.

Most depictions of Buddha picture him as rather thin. The Qur'an line you refer to is often interpreted to mean (and probably originally meant) killing those who are in the process of killing you. If you cut those religions as much slack as you must be cutting Christianity, they wouldn't be looking so bad. I'm going to stick with keeping my standards high across the board.

What magical nonsense? Him being able to heal the sick, blind, def, and dumb. It is written that He was to do this, along with changing the world, allowing man to ask forgiveness as opposed to sacrifices for forgiveness. The body became the temple, we could speak with Jesus and through Him, even with our sins that He died for, we can reach our Father which is in Heaven.

Him resurrecting people. Virgin birth. All his "miracles".

This is as much of magical nonsense as any of myth about Achilles.

He may not have been a myth. But he was a real scumbucket. Don't believe it? There is an ebook you can look up and read. It is called "Our Holy Hell: The causes, the solutions." Though I don't expect you to. So I will tell you what the first four main chapters are. Make of them what you will. 1. Stupidity and lies of the old testament. 2. Evil of the old testament. 3. Stupidity and lies of the new testament. 4. Evil of the new testament.

In other words: you haven't really looked into Buddha or Buddhism.

    . . . like the Bible does?

The Ten Commandments were laws that included religious persecution.

History has confirmed that Jesus Christ is the same person he is Jesus of Nazareth son of Joseph. Science leaves the confirmation if Jesus is the Son of God to the church to determine that and the church have confirm Jesus of Nazareth son of Joseph is the same person Jesus Christ Son of God.

The Catholic church don’t need to issue any statement the church leave science to scientist the church has since the 1st century accepted and confirm Jesus Christ is the Son of God is God.

The Pharisees and Sadducee conspired to silence and destroy Jesus and his followers they had Jesus put to death but with Christ resurrection the Apostles started to preach and share the good news under serious threat of death in which they did suffer death there was no material wealth, empire, or earthly reward they spread the word of God because Jesus is real and God is real. The Pharisees failed to silence truth.

Enemies of Christ is doing all they can to prove Jesus did not exist or is not God. In order to prove Jesus is not God they have to prove Jesus never existed and that is where they are having a hard time to prove Jesus is not real because all the evidences, facts and history is not on their side all their claims are based on myth and lack of academic and facts.

Both Jewish and none Jewish scientist have for many years work to uncover all the evidences and they have been successful confirming that Jesus Christ did existed and is real.

In spite of the presence and availability of modern media and print but most of all modern science it is still not enough for hardcore unbelievers to believe. It is really most and very tougher during Jesus time against all odds and personal safety the Apostles risk everything and wrote everything down so that we will know.

God has been worship since the dawn of time many ancient artifacts have been preserved from the Sphinx, pyramids, the Monoliths, etc. all not about profit but about seeking grace, good and safe prosperous life. Jesus Christ ministry was not about profit there was nothing earthly wealth or power or empire to gain to worship God as Jesus said “my Kingdom is not of this world”

The only way to refute lies is with truthful fact that is why the Apostles and early church work hard with unselfish heart surrendering their earthly lives to preserve and share the truth. Thanks to modern science the hard works of early church fathers and the Apostles was not in vain.

One of the mystery that we as humans is trying to understand is as what you said
“And if a creative force does exist, apparently this force doesn't care if you know a thing about it or not. It created the universe and then got lost”.

It would be easy to think or say that, why have God not just made humans like any other creatures live naturally no need to be intelligent, no need to be inventive, no need to greedy, no need for money, no need for palaces, no need pets, no need anything that we know humans are? Why humans why not the gorillas or the dolphins or maybe the eagles or ants why humans created to dominate this earth and universe?

The story of Troy and Archilles has some historicity minus the myth and exaggeration added to it by writers of all sorts. Jesus Christ on the other hand was real so real that they wanted to destroy everything about him.

It is like how the GOP-Trump are all ganging up on Hillary just ripping her apart with all sorts of lies comparable to early witch hunt.

As far as the Quran is concern the self-defense mean aggression to take proactive action, in other word offensive action. To try to convert or have a discussion about Mohammed with a Muslim is consider offensive to them that give Muslims the right to invoke self-defense and in doing so their reaction must be severe and decisive against the presenter. Christians have been cutting and giving so much slack to Islam since 670 AD and the more slack we give them th more they push and want to dominate us to submit to them.
In spite of the factual findings that Mohammed got it all wrong in preaching about Jesus Christ or God their respond to such fact sharing is war and they justify that under the Quran as self –defense it was put out in there by Mohammed to make sure his followers will not leave him and anyone who chose to leave Islam is subject to death.

Just like there still exist the mystery of science there also exist the mysteries of God. The miracles have been claimed to have happened and scholars agree that there are some things that are not explainable and yet are true.

Today modern science can resurrect dead people that are refer to as clinically dead or in a state of dead back then no one knows anything about clinical dead to be dead is dead there exist no medical knowledge to understand or diagnose if someone is clinically dead and can be revive or resurrected. How about the virgin birth, God is the creator the process of the virgin birth in today’s science can explain called parthenogenesis.

To quote Einstein; I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know his thoughts. The rest are details.

The Dead Sea Scrolls last remaining scrolls were made available and it contains stuff about Jesus Christ.

In 1991 the world was astonished to hear that one of the unpublished scrolls included incredible references to a "Messiah" who suffered crucifixion for the sins of men. The scroll was translated by Dr. Robert Eisenman, Professor of Middle East Religions of California State University. He declared, "The text is of the most far-reaching significance because it shows that whatever group was responsible for these writings was operating in the same general scriptural and Messianic framework of early Christianity." Although the original scroll team still claimed that there was no evidence about early Christianity in the unpublished scrolls, this new scroll totally contradicted their statements. This single scroll is earth-shaking in its importance. As Dr. Norman Golb, Professor of Jewish History at the University of Chicago said, "It shows that contrary to what some of the editors said, there are lots of surprises in the scrolls, and this is one of them."

That was why God came to us as Jesus Christ because of those kind of false religions and for that they did just to Jesus what your cartoon reference is about they have Jesus crucified for blasphemy.
