Trump's lawyers were more than ready for him to be found guilty of something.

Trump’s team is out with a lengthy document responding to the Carroll verdict, starting with a statement from a Trump spox:

The 'jury' could literally find anything. And I have an ever decreasing respect for the judicial system as a whole. Given that the plantiff had no real ability to actually prove her case, how do they even come up with 'well, we'll call him an assaulter though we have no verdict on the rape claims' LMFAO.

That doesn't even meet preponderance. There has to be SOME nexus connection, something that they can actually show to say 'the plantiff is entitled to this relief', and well, using the Access Hollywood tapes wouldn't(or shouldn't) be it LOL.

It's a mockery, is what it is. For any other defendant not named Trump.

This is like accusing someone of robbing your house, and using as evidence not any proof of your home being robbed, but that they spoke about home invasions.

    It's hilarious.

So to claim this is a mockery is, itself, a mockery.

Mr. Donald Trump has, in all probability, some form of legal defense fund. His loyal followers will contribute whatever's required to cover the cost of the verdict. That is, if it loses on appeal. The appeal process may outlast Mr. Donald Trump.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

Well, if they could literally find anything, my vote is 20 years for Seditious Conspiracy...

Or perhaps they couldn't literally find anything....

Hey, your boy isn't officially a rapist today (probably not for lack of trying)... shouldn't I be hearing the sound of champagne corks? Or at least PBR pop tops?

No, it's using as "pattern of behavior" that the person spoke about how they break into empty houses and how he gets away with it.

the deposition played out in court pretty much spoke for him. However, given Trump's nature, it was probably best that he didn't speak, otherwise who knows, he may confess to something even worse than what the lawsuit was alleging. But not showing up pretty much made up the minds of the jurors I think. He should have done that at the very least. Johnny Depp showed up in his civil trial. So did OJ. But not Trump.

Identifying the robber by name as part of your evidence probably wouldn't hurt either...

And here is another "expert" on the judicial system not understanding the judicial system.

Also commenting on a case that they were not in attendance of, didn't hear the testimony from and have no idea what was going on with the deliberations in the jury room.

But they know better than the jury....

So, you are arguing the jurors are trump haters too, as well as the judge, the plaintiff lawyers, etc. I will grant some emotionalism may have been present because Trump did not have the cajones to show up in Court. Not showing up spoke volumes to the jury, but what was worse was his own deposition where he was very narcissistic and arrogant, and that leads to the preponderance of the evidence by her and other witnesses who testified on her behalf. Trump teams did score some minor points but it wasn't enough.

Trump will appeal the decision and delay payment as much as possible. Second, since Trump's and the GOP donors are the one's paying, Trump is not paying one dime. The RNC is and anyone who contributes to the RNC will. In addition, she can now ask the judge to pay for legal fees in addition to the $5 million. This is just the second round, it is not the final round, and it will continue in the next year or so.

Thankfully, he can't drain "The Trump Foundation" to pay the verdict.
