Jury finds Trump assaulted, defamed E. Jean Carroll... awards roughly $5M

Not only are there other (criminal) cases, pending, but even E. Jean Carroll, has another suit pending against Trump.

So this seems to be the suit, filed in 2022, while the one from three years earlier, is still waiting. Seems odd.

I cannot see any reason to continue that 2019 case after today... she got her defamation award, even if it was for different comments...

Then Tapper had to segue into a reminder that the aforementioned sexual batterer will be appearing on his network in 28 hours....

I haven't read up on the case much can you present a couple of the most damning pieces?

 

A pattern of behavior =/= he sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll. Such may be enough for you to convict someone, but it would never stand up in a real court of law and we both know that.

 

The evidence presented:

1. Oral testimony that was consistent with both deposition and cross-examination that she believed that he raped her.
2. Other witnesses who confirmed her testimony and how she acted after it happened.
3. Trump's own disposition in which she thought the plaintiff was actually his wife Marla for some odd reason, his narcissism, his arrogance, his acknowledgment that he said what he said.
4. Trump not even showing up, which can play huge in a jury's civil trial.

 

the most damning piece is the verdict, Mr Grab em by the psy finally told that is wrong by a jury of his peers

 

Then you don't know what emotionalism is because I never used emotional words or try to entice emotionalism in my post.

 

Two other people claimed that he sexually abused them testified. Both unproven claims.
Hollywood access tape had absolutely nothing to do with E. Jean Carroll. IE: irrelevant.

 

This is not a “conviction” as it was a civil trial not a criminal one and it only needed a “preponderance of evidence” not “beyond reasonable doubt” so lower standard. Watch Glenn Kirshner or Miedas touch or any of the legal podcasts.
