Might have something to do with that lack of "out west" coverage that Herk was talking about...

Now, I personally feel that they should spread the coverage, though my team is in the South, and, we get PLENTY of coverage anyway, but, alot of these West teams end up being a surprise to the rest of the NCAA, because they get little to no coverage during the season...

But, be that as it may, there's not a lot of quality teams in the West, as of late, esp. not of the caliber of a Duke, or Syracuse, or Michigan State...

    That also is a factor...

I would think that the lack of quality teams west of the Rockies has a lot to do with the lack of coverage - most of the buzz surrounds smaller schools like LBSU and SDSU instead of the big blue bloods (UCLA, Arizona, et al) in the Pac-12.

I guess this tries to explain things:

Whatever. It's not like other conferences haven't had a bunch of one-and-doners pass through their programs on the way to the NBA. You see it happen in the ACC and the SEC all the time. I don't get it...

The Big Dance starts tonight with the First Four: :w00t:

    South Region
No. 16 Western Kentucky vs. No. 16 Mississippi Valley State, 6:40 p.m. Eastern (truTV)

LOL - We get to see Big Red again...

    West Region
No. 14 Iona vs. No. 14 BYU, 9:10 p.m. Eastern (truTV)

I'm looking forward to watching Iona play. From what I've heard they can light up the scoreboard - BYU could be in for a pummeling...

Save it as a PDF, convert the PDF to a jpeg, and upload to a tinypic or photobucket type of account...

Since I really don't like picking brackets, or even individual games, I'll pick who I'm rooting for. Tonight I'm rooting for Miss.Vall. & Iona. My Final 4 is a combo of who I'd like & who I think: Ky.(to win it all), Missouri, Ohio St. & probably N.C., but I'd really love to see St.Mary come out of that bracket(or anybody besides N.C. for that matter).

Wow, that is big news! You're right, that is another reason not to get near Syracuse.

I'm with you on most of those picks - here's where we differ:

    New Mexico over LBSU
VCU over Wichita State (gotta go with my Rams)
    West Virginia over Gonzaga
    NC State over SDSU
    Purdue over St. Mary's
    Notre Dame over Xavier

Yup. If I wasn't a VCU alum I would have taken Wichita State over the Rams...
