    I'm waiting, possibly in vain, for them to figure out that this isn't just a 2A issue. A governor can't ban a right, any right, by executive order.

    There is zero question that the governor does not have the authority to pretend that she's the one that gets to interpret that.

    But it's no surprise that your ilk supports her authoritarian overreach.

    Assault is illegal. Any religion that believes in performing honor killings, human sacrifice, or stoning will be breaking the law, but their religions can't be banned. Is Islam banned in The United States? No, it isn't.

    Almost every single individual who is in prison is coming back to free society, including those with life sentences.

    What you teach them in prison is what they will bring with them.

    Just exactly what is it that YOU want to teach them?

    This is hardly even a half assed analysis.

    By focusing on skin color you are dodging important factors in crime - for example, poverty.

    This is a typical direction that racists take, and you should resist that.

    Actually I think she’s testing “States Rights”, which is part of the Constitution. Nothing “communist” about it.

    I think she’s set herself up for s loss in front of the Supreme’s. But, it is an interesting case to follow.

    Vermont's population density is 70 people per square mile. Mississippi's is 63 people per square mile.

    Vermont's violent crime rate is 1.87 per thousand. Mississippi's is 2.54 per thousand.

    No State has the right to suspend the civil rights of the citizenry.

    What she's doing isn't just unconstitutional. It's also criminal.

    I said I think She’ll lose. But, as I read OUR Constitution States have the right and responsibility to protect their citizens. The 10th Amendment says they says so. The 10th wasn’t “incorporated” into the 14th as was the 2nd. So, she does have some legal footing for her action.

    If you read the 9th Amendment, you learn that...

    "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

    ...so, no, she doesn't have the authority to suspend the Constitution.

    If Grisham wants to protect the citizens of New Mexico, she can get to work right away on the police shortage...
