Sure, just because something is divisive doesn't necessarily mean you should stop doing it. But you SHOULD stop encouraging racism and tension between strangers based on race.

No more than a klan rally is.

I've never heard anyone on the left say it either.

There's no current circumstances. There's just an additional song being sung, for the 3rd year now, at the Super Bowl. BFD.
Whether they have equal rights is not the issue.
Has nothing at all to do with equal rights. And only the law pushes towards equal rights. Racism among Americans still exists.
Equal opportunities still do not exist.

Who's insisting the Black NA has to be played? The NFL started doing such after the Floyd murder. As a means of support for injustices.

What comes to your mind, does not mean it comes into the minds of every single person in USA.
I have not heard any group pushing to end the Star Spangled Banner.
Just an additional song to the NA. There's several songs sung along with the NA at the Super Bowl.

Wow. You are equating a song sung 1X per year at the superbowl to a klan rally.

Because what you say in your 1st paragraph is still true. There's many black communities very down trodden due to past discrimination.

Things don't change over night. 250 yrs of being put down will take generations, money, and education to correct the downtrodden.

Good Grief? What has happened in the last 58 yrs to correct 250 yrs?

And viewership is near all time highs. The NFL knows the future market audience. Which is way way more empathic and caring the the old white boomers that come and complain about a song.

It is seen by more people and people who didn't come for it are asked to be silent and honour it, so sure there is that difference.

What they have in common is that they are both chants/rituals/exercises that deliberately divide people based on race, excluding anyone who doesn't fit the mold.

We the Floyd riots divisive? Or the riots in LA, Ferguson, Baltimore and NYC?

If you really believe in diversity, equity and inclusion, you would not support a bogus anthem that does the opposite.

Do you recall the hoopla over a few country songs a year ago? I forget their names, but someone on this board will know the songs I'm referring to.

I don't feel the song should be played either. It serves no other purpose than to divide our nation further.

Not the song. You know there are 3 or 4 songs sung with the NA. Happens every SB.
I don't feel the least bid divided by a song. Why are you feeling divided?

Well, most fans and the NFL and their future fans, don't feel that way at all.
And since viewship is near highs, it appears those that think it divides are in a big minority.

Like I've said previously, I would have shot her too if she had been breaking into my home. However, that recent audio recording of him lying about what was happening may very well put it over the bar of "justified". Other than that, yeah I agree, it was justified. My point wasn't to argue with you, but to keep the facts straight.

That's because most people with a level head who have actually listened to the song know , there's nothing divisive about it.

People who actually think like this are in the extreme minority. Which is why the NFL is gaining more fans than they're losing.

If the network doesn't rub it our faces with actual on-the-air presence, then it's likely that not many people will notice. But, in this country, "nothing succeeds like excess".

Depending on how this is handled it may indeed cause "outrage", which is exactly what the 'woke' faction wants -- so that they can piss-and-moan about how bad Blacks are treated in this country... etc. It's all about identity-politics, agenda, and publicity! ;)

If people who think you should stop encouraging racism and tension between strangers based on race are in the extreme minority, then you've got a much bigger problem than I thought.

What is divisive about it is it being called a "black national anthem".

I thought you were referring to the song doing those things. Which it's not. But if people are doing those things, I agree.

What's divisive is that it's referred to as the black national, which, as I've said before, is not diverse, inclusive and equitable. What's also divisive is that you can bet your last dollar that anyone who sits or takes a knee when it's being played will have their lives ruined, unlike when libs took a knee.

Again Steve, those who think it's divisive are in the extreme minority. And by the way, Colin Kapernick wasn't affected at all by taking a knee was he? Yeah Right !!! Lol
