No, studies have shown that ER usage does not change with coverage.

The "obamacare" exchange market is not-for-profit? No wonder big pharma wanted it so badly! No insurance companies cancelled millions of private policies so they could offer options in the exchange.

Correction: ACA is working, contrary to the lies and delusionalism of the far right. I'm living proof of that!

More Than 4.2 Million People Have Now Enrolled In Obamacare

    Tue Mar 11, 2014

    Source: Huffington Post

More than 4.2 million people enrolled into private plans via Obamacare's health insurance exchange marketplaces through March 1, the Department of Health and Human Services announced in a report Tuesday.

The first open enrollment period on the exchanges, which are intended for individuals and families who don't get health benefits at work and aren't covered by government health care programs, ends March 31 for private coverage that will be in effect this year. At the current pace, sign-ups are below the original target of 5.6 million by the end of February, based on the Congressional Budget Office projection of 7 million by the end of March. Last month, the budget office downgraded those projections to 6 million total for the full six-month enrollment period, so a big surge would be needed in the final weeks to meet that benchmark.

One-quarter of the enrollments up to March 1 were for individuals between the ages of 18 and 34. This demographic is considered critical to the long-term viability of the state-based health insurance exchanges because they are presumed to be healthier and thus less likely to incur costly medical bills than the older people in the market. The White House originally aimed for about 40 percent of the enrollees to be younger than 35 years old.

Signing onto the website is not the same thing as enrolling and paying and the numbers from this Administration are suspect. Like the claim that Obama deports more illegal aliens than previous Presidents turned out to be a lie.

Wow, talk about hyperbole. Most of those that signed up already had insurance previously and only a small percentage of the uninsured are insured with Obamacare.

How can you believe anything from this lying Administration?

The reason why the government allowed under age 26 to be added to parent's coverage was because most in this age group doesn't earn enough money to even qualify for subsidies, therefore would have been added to the Medicaid roll in states who expanded coverage. By allowing them to add those young adults created an increase in premiums for those parents who added them while at the same time reduced the amount the government would have had to pay if they had become enrolled under medicaid.

Is your head buried so deeply in the sand so as to not see what the ACA is doing?

Top notch doctors are retiring in lieu of dealing with the intrusive rules and regulations being imposed by the law.

Hospitals are closing or reducing their emergency care facilities.

To make up for shortages, semi-doctors are being called upon to provide care that normally calls for doctors with extensive training and experience.

Government regulations are limiting procedures doctors may use.

And the price of medical care is skyrocketing and many procedures will no longer be conducted.

While you and yours rail against insurance companies, many are refusing the issue policies in order to cut their losses. And many are simply refusing to cover many under the new ACA rules - meaning the people need to enroll in Medicare/Medicaid which is the same as single-payer insurance.
