Yes, it does, by enforcing responsibility on heterosexual couple.
Responsibility does no happen without the government.

They get same benefits, that is true.
But government treats different types of couple differently.
    Equal right means equal treatment.

Tell it to child support enforcement agency.
It is extremely important to understand that gay rights are the special rights, special exception given them by the government (unelected officials actually).
That will help us eliminate unnecessary confusions, legal battles and forced celebration of homosexual events.

In regards to marriage, gay couples get access to the same benefits as hetero couples.

Marriage is not a public resource.

Marriage is not about procreation solely and is not necessary to one. If it was then sterile people would not be allowed to get married. Also polygamy would be allowed as that is conducive to procreation. Marriage is about family. Sharing. Being with the one that you love. Being able to make decisions for the other when they are unable to. And many other things.

You either acknowledge this or you don't: it would be legitimate for a Christian or Jew to say that they have a religious objection to burning a Bible.

The term was also commonly used with regards to marriage whether procreation occurred or not.

And you you still haven't stated any regulation on heterosexual sex that is on any state or federal law set. Or regulations on procreation for that matter.

If it regulates a relationship between man and woman, then it also regulates relationships between man and man as well as between woman and woman.

Can you name one benefit that a same sex couple gets that an opposite sex couple does not?

Claiming it to be obvious does not make it so. You haven't shown yet that heterosexual sex is not private. Personally I will be real upset if someone has been monitoring my heterosexual activity.

Aside from the fact that it factually does, that responsibility for offspring occurs whether or not the couple who produced the offspring are married or not. So that little tibit of yours does nothing to show that heterosexual sex is regulated nor that same sex spouses are receiving any special benefits.

And still no details as to how they are treated differently.

I would say that these would also be things that should make poly allowed, but that's another thread.

How do they know who is homosexual to determine who gets the rights?

It is actually very simple - no government regulation, no benefits.
Exception is made to reward private activity with public benefits.
Homosexual activity is strictly private event while heterosexual have consequences for the society, so it needs to be regulated.

    No need to determine anything.
If man and woman have relationship government regulates them.

Government e.g. assumes a man as a father of the child, if child is born while married.

It is just your opinion. It would only be true if heterosexual couple treated the same, it is not the case under current laws.

Yes, benefits ARE the same, but responsibilities are different. Government did not remove gender from the marriage laws, when it does, we can have meaningful conversation.
