Every politician that has been in office to this date has a worse track record then Donald Trump.

Absolutly true. I believe Trump is now up to over seven thousand lies or deliberate misstatements. Actually you could probably combine every President in history and Trump would still hold the record. A President we can be proud of.

I might be wrong but I seem to remember a past shutdown where the Social Security checks didn't go out.

I was curious, so I searched for it but couldn't find that had been an instance of SS checks deliberately not being sent to recipients.

They weren't deliberatly not sent. The government was shut down and the checks didn't get issued as I remember it. Nope, I was invorrect. It was new claims that were delayed during the Clinton shutdown.

During the Clinton-era shutdown, new Social Security claims were not being processed because the agency furloughed 61,415 employees. As the shutdown wore on, the agency adjusted its plan and recalled workers to start processing new claims. Whether new claims are processed at all or with a delay due to fewer workers will depend on how many employees the SSA decides to maintain and how many they decide to furlough.

To tell you the truth, Mr. Truth, I struggle to be able to remember when or even IF I ever dealt with any Federal Government civil servants who were either Republican or Conservative. There may have been some, but I don't recall them. But the clock-watcher, slacker, barely-adequate ones? I remember them, because I had to deal with them, and they all had the, uh, 'attitude' of the Democrat Party about them.... I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard one of them say things like, "Well, after all, perfect is the enemy of good enough...."

Got a link? I was not able to find one. I'm trying to figure out HOW this could have happened, but maybe you have provided the essential clue -- if these were for brand new claims that weren't established yet, then, they wouldn't have been set up fully... so, no check....

Trump Would Be ‘Proud’ to Shut Down Government

December 11, 2018 at 12:34 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 258 Comments

Prior to his meeting with Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer, President Trump brought reporters into the Oval Office and — in an extended, heated exchange before the cameras — clashed with the two Democratic leaders over congressional support for funding for his border wall, declaring that he is “proud to shut down the government for border security,” Axios reports.

Keep in mind. No fool can ever be fooled.

The only one's in the middle are those that are without a paycheck, at the moment. This isn't their 1st time either.
And it's not affecting very many people.
They are, I bet, the same one's affected at each shutdown. And each party knows it. It's not affecting their base very much.

Blame always starts at the top. tRUMP said so 6 yrs ago.
The Buck Stops Here. Is a famous quote.

But, are not considered, the greatest generation in USA history. I think that group is the Baby Boomers, parents.
So, in 20 yrs, the Millenials will be the most educated and greatest generation. As the boomers die off.

Election results mean a lot more. Dems don't normally run on a border wall. Dems retook the House winning 40 seats. What do you think that says about appeasing Donald Trump as a winning strategy for the now majority party lead by Nancy Pelosi. To me it says the poll numbers are consistent with recent election results and a hell of a better guide to future success, than following Trump's tweets.

I can understand why you feel that way. I did for many many years as well.

But you have to remember taht the people who say things like that are constrained by the laws and regulations they are paid to enforce or interpret.

Believe me, I am doing a project for the National Park Service right now, and I've found it frustrating, to say the very least (and I DO mean very least!!!!!!, these peple are driving me nuts).

I've encountered them from the political side as an elected official as well. Which is how I can to appreaciate the fact that bureaucrats are the folks stuck in the middle between politicians who execute the will of the wealthy, or of a public that generally does not understand or care much about the subject at hand, and that same public on the other end.

I know a lot of Federal employees. I find that the bell curve between superstar and lazy incompetent is about the same as it is for any large corporation or state or local agency.

But, if you're in the market for one who can explore, research and generally talk an idea to death, I can hook you up!

The is an issue that Trump wants the populace talking about and it allows him to vilify the Democrats as enemies. Don't fall for it people, Republicans/Democrats are all Americans and your fellow man. Don't let divisive politics keep a weak "man" in the WH.

Obama with the approval of Crooked Hillary, John Kerry and a few neocon RINO's armed some of ISIS, those jihadist who would fight against Assad.

Obama's biggest failure was pulling American troops out of Iraq that allowed ISIS to invade Iraq.

Obama will be being blamed for all kinds of crap a 100 years from now.

The Obama administration was one of the most destructive administrations in America's history.

Who put Trump into the White House ?
