    Taxcutter asks:
    Where from? Italy? Greece? Spain?
The EU is just like Germany - too committed to their welfare state - to re-arm.

EU's welfare state, haha. EU likely will rearm now. This probably will get NATO going again but the only way to beat Russia is economic and people will not do that till they feel sure the move Russia is making - this could come soon though if Russia refuses to man her borders and stop people and arms getting into Ukraine and keeping people dying. The US and Britain have given her a month.

I was not talking about the showman Zhirik, I was talking about a military expert Sergei Kovalev.
Do you admit that you cannot beat his arguments?

Neither I nor Kovalev were defending Stalin, you are consciously and repeatedly perverting my arguments, that is a violation of the Rules of this forum. I will report that.

BTW, you have failed to explain why the Western allies fell in love with Uncle Joe.

    :D

Why did they spit in the face of Poles and support the Soviet lie about the Katyn-Massacre?

The western powers supported this lie even during the Cold War!!!!

Einstein and other prominent Zionists were in love with Stalin, too!

And do not forget that Stalin was one of the most important "founding fathers" of Israel.

He was the first who recognised Israel, he supplied Israel with weapons in the most critical moment and without his vote and influence in the Third World the UNO Resolution 181 would be ompossible.

Stalin voted with 5 votes (Ukraine, Soviet Union, Byelorussia, Poland, Czechoslovakia) for the land robbery in Palestine, and many Third World countries supported him, that is the reason why so many old Zionists are still eager to kiss the bloody hands of Stalin.

    :D

These old Zionists know that Israel was created with the very important support of the bloody Uncle Joe.

And that may be the reason why (according to the Morgenthau Plan) the western powers did no mind the enslavement of Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Who knows if these countries voted for the UNO resolution 181, if they were not subjugated by Stalin?

    Think about it!

    ;)

Thank you for telling the truth about Stalin, but do not forget to mention his Western supporters who helped to hide these crimes from the Western people!

Your propaganda does more harm to the West than to Russia that is less interested in hiding the skeletons in the "allied-cupboard", than UK and USA.

Russian is not SU, displaying the crimes of Stalin (done with the tacit support of GB and USA) does more harm to USA and GB, than to Russia, which was a victim of Bolshevism.

That is the reason why British Secret Services killed Rudolf Hess, after Gorbachev declassified the secret documents about the Katyn Massacre and agreed to free Rudolf Hess who was an old man who spent the entire war in prison and could not commit any crimes during that time.

    Dear Art_Allm,
I do not know which Sergei Kovalev you are talking about. When I googled, I found this one:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Kovalev
And I found another one, which is boxer :)
There is also Sergey Kovalev, who is psychotherapeutic doctor. Probably we all will need one soon :), if we do not stop blaming each other here with anything bad which can be imagined.
Anyhow, I could not find original paper by Kovalev, so I will use some logic and a bit history here to comment on the topic.
    1. Poland. Look for motivation. Why Poland needed to start a war? They were well informed about military power of Germany. Starting a war for Poland would be like a small dog tried to attack a big one with the obvious outcome. I do not think the politicians in Poland at that time were so stupid to start a war. It is known, there were provocations from German side several months before the war stared and Poland did not answer to them. Finally, Germany attacked Poland in September 1939. US was not involved in this stage at all. UK had to enter a war because there was appropriate agreement between Poland and UK.
    2. I have no idea what are the sources for reference of Kovalev when the book/article was written. What I know, all the materials from archives about that war with the stamp “extreme secrete”, and this is certainly the case, started to open only recently. So here the question of the credibility to author arises.

Indeed that is a problem but one which is also being addressed

Britain has no reliance on Russian Gas. There was even a suggestion we might build a pipeline to Europe but unless they are lying massively about North sea oil and Gas I would think that would come to nothing - maybe Norway?

As well as looking at other sources for Gas, Germany for instance has gone back to coal production, not very good for it's green policy but that is the other thing it is speeding up. We could all do that and maybe get a chance to help the planet before too much damage is done. So work is being done and other sources found http://finance.yahoo.com/news/balti...t-russia-gas-reliance-081107194--finance.html

It should also be borne in mind that the country which would be hurt devastatingly economically by the next scale of economic measures would be Russia. People won't do it though unless they believe it is necessary as it will also hurt Europe.

My friend, for caviar you should work a bit more. For example, recognize in forum that Putin is the most democratic leader in the world. :)

Germany is also importing US steam coal from central Appalachia through the Newport News coal piers. But you can't run motor vehicles on coal.

ah maybe it is your coal she is using then. If that is the only worry ways will be found. Germany stands to lose the most. Britain will lose too but not so much I think. The US will hardly lose anything.

You do know what would bring this whole thing to a screeching halt, don't you?

If Germany and the rest of Europe would suspend their welfare state and carried out a crash re-armament program, Putin would back down - - fast.

But neither I nor Putin see that happening, so euro-talk is not overly credible.

It is nothing to do with any welfare state. Our poorest 10% after the very richest are paying the most for the bankers greed. We have no welfare states or money anymore. The UK has always paid more than the 2% required by Nato of defence. Our Government loves wars. England are also collecting your planes. Have got 3 B52's and 2 B2's this last week.

The reality is that it is not military but economic war which is needed. I noticed you ignored the reality that European countries will pay hard for that while the US will not. That is the issue not some imagination that globalisation has left the EU with any money for welfare.

What you failed to say was how the US would compensate Europe for her loss.

Then as you are not reading what is written there is no point for further discussion. I believe you must just like getting the last line which is your first line regardless of what is said in between. Nothing changes your broken record so...you are just wasting people's time.

No, but my post addressed the argument made in response to the tounge-in-cheek suggestion "what do you think about a Hitlercity in Austria?for the same reason..." that "There was no such placeas Hitlercity. Stalingrad is a real name of a real city. "

There was no "real name" of Stalingrad either, before they renamed it after Stalin.

    Read this post:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=359626&p=1063965829#post1063965829

Sergei Kovalev is a senior researcher at the Russian defence ministry.

Kovalev is a very common name, like Smith in English.

Sergei (Сергей) may also be spelled like Sergey.

The Russian name is Сергей Ковалев.

It is obvious that not many English sources mention this fact, but you can find a lot of links in the Russian internet:

    https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en#hl=en&q=сергей+ковалев+историк+гданьск&start=0

For the English speakers I can recommend following books:

Churchill, Hitler and the Unnecessary War: How Britain Lost Its Empire and the West Lost the World, by Pat Buchanan, published in May 2008

    http://www.amazon.com/Churchill-Hitler-The-Unnecessary-War/dp/0307405168

Pat Buchanan is a well-known person, a former advisor of American presidents.

As we see, a well-known American author published a well footnoted book, he quotes a lot of historians, and he believes that Britain (Churchill) is at least co-responsible for WWI and WWII.

Another new book of a great American, a former President of the USA:

    http://www.amazon.com/Freedom-Betrayed-Herbert-Hoovers-Aftermath/dp/0817912347

    Book description:

As we see, many well known main stream person, experts in the field of the history of WWII, rise a lot of questions that must be addressed.

But some people still know the history from "mainstream" Hollywood pictures, and they do not want to learn something new and use their own brain to connect the dots.

    Dear vis,

you discuss that issue with a very specific kind of person.

I explain: I once as a student did live in a house where the owner had the opinion that the Holocaust was an invention by jews to make Germany poor and to steel money from germans. He also said that Germany was the real victim of Britain and the USA, that the Soviet Union wanted to attack Germany and that all that was organized by jews...

I gave my very best to argue that step by step, argument by argument. That german old Nazi did very calm put iun question the most reasonable facts and wanted allways proofs for any kind of clear facts - in the most absurd way.

    That is typical neo-nazi behaviour.

I refuse to answer to such absurd idea that Poland and Britain did start the war. That is simply to absurd to be answered or debated. We also could discuss if you are in fact a woman and just claim to be a man inhere - same level of debating simply the other is more evil.

The more you invest time to make clear what is allready clear and the more you waste energie to deal wich such abstruse ideas as such people do have, the more absurd and insulting arguments they will bring in.

These people do enjoy that. In the end they will tell you Russia did drop the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and also did run Ausschwitz...and that is why all russian are homosexual jews...about that level in debating. Useless.

Do you really want to lose your time with such people?

I mean to say that Poland and Britain did start the 2nd world war..come on!

That is not just weird, that is dangerous, aggressive, really mean and ...simply complete BS.

I do warn you. The man with what you discuss that is not willing to understand the crazyness of his position. A person who does bring arguments like that (as to denie the Holocaust) is truely mentaly ill and for sure also evil.

I will not anymore directly answer inhere about such ideas. I do not talk to Neonazis. If somebody does feel that I did mean him by that term (Neonazi) , that is is personal problem. I did not name anybody inhere, so that can not be considered as insult - if someboday is no Neonazi, he should not feel offended. Simple as that. (it is true in that particular case anyway).

The person I mean does know perfectly fine who is the neonazi inhere himself, because he is one and does denie it.

I mean let's be clear: I can argue a lot of things and also argue about Crimea with you.

I will never have the absurd idea to tell you that Russia started the war against germany and I will never ever denie facts as the Holocaust.

May be I strictly disagree about Crimea with you. Do you feel comfortable to have somebody defending your case about Crimea who is thinking Germany was the victim in WW2?

Again: such person is defending the Crimea issue for you because of a reason you might not like, I strongly do warn you:

It is connected to the need to get a reborn German Reich and that with help of Russia!

    http://www.blog.schattenbericht.de/...iert-sich-mit-militanten-russischen-neonazis/

Some russians do have exactly the same attention , just the other way around:

    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wladimir_Wolfowitsch_Schirinowski

    From that:

"Im Dezember 1993 stellte Schirinowski die deutsch-polnische Grenzziehung in Frage, um mit der Bundesrepublik über den möglichen Verkauf des Gebietes um Kaliningrad (den Norden des ehemals deutschen Ostpreußen einschließlich Königsberg) an Deutschland verhandeln zu können.[3]"

    in english:

In December 1993, Zhirinovsky presented the German-Polish border demarcation in question to the Federal Republic on the possible sale of the territory to Kaliningrad to negotiate (the northern part of the former German East Prussia, including Königsberg) in Germany. [3] "

German Neonazis do like russian fascists because of that!

Russian Fascists do like german Neonazis for the same reason, just the other way around!

It is not about Crimea or Ukraine. It is about the German Reich and the Russian Empire!

Be aware what sort of germans do support Putin here!

    Take care.
