Nobody needs to apologize for me being a Muslim.

If you read this thread along with "Islam has no case", and "Islam spreads to South America" you will see what I mean by spreading hate.

The thread starter has shown his true reasons for this thread. It's to bash Islam and Muslims, even after we have answered his questions with respect...

Very well said, by the way.

Do Muslims claim Jesus was not crucified?

The Gospels say Jesus was the son of God because that was the belief of the authors. Why/How would a Muslim have anything relevant to add to this?

Is there any way to verify Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel were prophets?

I'm not a Muslim, thats probably obvious, but like you I am curious about their beliefs.

Pretty much, for the majority of U.S. citizens information is limited to internet, international papers available in magazine/book stores and mainstream media.

Technically you are a Muslim apologist. Thats not a bad thing, is merely a term to describe one who defends an idea or ideology etc.

Being a Muslim and being a Muslim apologist are not mutually exclusive.

Well, this is what you say but in spite of your claims we still see mainstream media reporting multiple groups claiming both responsibility for heinous acts and affiliation or authorization of God through the teachings of Islam.

Do you claim this is propoganda and if so -
Does mainstream media feed the people of this country outright lies?

So while you a Muslim say Islam does not teach us to randomly kill people, do you believe there are any instances where you would say Islam teaches us to kill people for specific reasons?

Would you say that you are authorized to speak for Islam and declare official policy for the "church" for lack of a better word?

Woud you acknowledge others who claim to be Muslim with as much credibility as you claim otherwise regarding Islamic teachings regarding taking anothers life?

No, we don't believe Jesus PBUH was crucified. We believe God replaced him with an imposter and brought Jesus PBUH up to Heaven.

We also believe the Gospels were corrupted by man.

There is no proof any if these people even existed, let alone be Prophets. So calling Muhammad PBUH a false Prophet is meaningless.

He isn't curious about anything. He just spews his anti-Islam garbage after pretending to be interested in actually learning about Islam.

If you are seriously interested there seems to be a few members (including me) who'd answer your questions while actually knowing what they are talking about. I suggest learning from those members.

    Well of COURSE he does!
The Whackjobs are easy to spot.
They will dodge or cut & run from direct questions, intelligent posts etc... - then demand you respond to them!
They label anyone disagreeing with them.
    They're stupid as sh1t.
On the upside, they are pretty funny and good for a few laughs, as long as you know better than to take WIPs (Whackjob Internet People) seriously.

    Why do you say this?
This may be your opinion but I doubt you can provide any real proof for your beliefs.

Personally, I would be more comfortable with a Hindu, Christian, Buddhist etc. than a Muslim because you don't often hear (if ever) of Hindu's, Christians, Buddhists etc. killing people (members for religious transgressions, non-members in religious and territorial conflicts, minors for religious transgressions, strangers for arguably political reasons).

You don't often hear of Christians, Hindu's, Buddhists justifying the denigration and oppression of women as condoned by God.

You don't often hear of Christians, Hindu's, Buddhists persecuting members of other religions or wanting to bring down political organizations to replace them with theocracies.

You don't often hear of Christians, Hindu's, Buddhists destroying historical monuments of other religions because they are sacriligious.

You don't often hear of Christians, Hindu's, Buddhists being so insensitive and hateful as building self-serving monuments next to landmarks where others who claim affiliation with them committed atrocities on a par with the holocaust as it intentionally targets innocents and civilians.

Which oh yeah, you don't often hear of Christians, Hindu's, Buddhists specifically targetting innocents and civilians to commit atrocities upon for arguably political reasons.

Now you can say, oh, here is just another hater spouting garbage about Muslims who doesn't know what he's talking about.

I would ask you first though, why would I do this?
I'm not a Jew with a history of conflict with Muslims.
I'm not a Christian although I admit I'm sympathetic to Christian values being raised in a predominantly Judeo-Christian culture.
The only Muslims I ever met and got to know never harmed me, threatened me or even treated me discourteously, however I do admit I did not like they way they treated women

So why do I care one way or another about Islam or Muslims other than the actions they have done which admittedly has been filtered through news organizations which may have added their bias.

But again, why does this one religion appear to be in such contention with the rest of the world if they are simply peaceful people practicing their faith?

Because your media is so reliable... I'm very confident that is where most of the members like him get their info: propaganda....

That's your meaning. On here, it's used to try and insult whoever disagrees with their lies about Islam.

I know this. However these people are fundamentalists and every religion has them.

Yes, you are fed extreme amounts of propaganda through you media. It's not even funny.

Islam gives us permission to kill people in certain situations, such as war and self-defence. We are not allowed to just murder somebody because they offend us or our religion.

I feel I am authorized to explain the basics of Islam. I haven't studied the religion as much as scholars, I'm not an Imam, but I know what I'm talking about. And I learn about things Idon't understand before responding.

Such as? Al Qaida? There is nothing Islamic about them. I'm not judging how Muslims act in the name of God. Most of the the they are either fundamentals or confused. I think they are wrong, and they think I'm wrong. But they are minorities in all religions. They don't represent their religion.

    Hope this answered your questions.

I don't believe anybody is saying or insinuating you do, I'm certainly not.
I did ask if Margot was a Muslim apologist and I supplied the definition with the question to avoid unintentional misunderstandings.

One who makes a defense in writing or speech for a belief, ideology etc.
This is a technical term, not an insult or accusation.

    Seems clear to me.

Just because you don't hear of something doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

You don't hear about the good of Islam. You even saw first hand how Muslims are, yet you still believe what you hear in the media......

I don't mean you're using it as an insult. It's just 9/10 times it is used as an insult.

This is a very fair statement and I agree with your sarcasm.
Media in the United States is extremely biased and from our prespective it is hard, at least for me to determine the source and motivation of the bias.

Not sure what your point is here, but of course the reply box has removed the comment you are responding to.

I appreciate your thoughtful and polite response.
I don't have time at the moment to really give it the attention it deserves but I will and respond.

If you look through my posts you will see that I do have a lot of anger and pointed questions regarding Islam.

You will also see I acknowledge our government has (*)(*)(*)(*)ed with predominantly Muslim nations for decades and frustration, anger and resentment towards America by Muslims is very understandable.

Peace (or at least a mutually agreed cease fire)

    A mutally agreed cease fire?

This is a debate forum, not a war. If someone is approaching a discussion about religion as if it is a war they are telling me two things:

    a. They have no idea what war is.

    b. They are not looking critically at their own positions.

    It's a metaphor, relax.
Anyone with an iota of common sense would get that unless English is a second language (not an insult, I respect bi/multi-lingual people)

    a. Fortunately I have no experience first hand with war, but I am absolutely familiar with the concept.
    b. non-sequitor

    1. Its a crappy metaphore.

    2. No, you are not. You are in a debate forum using metaphor about war to discuss someone else's faith. You have no idea what you are talking about in regards to either religion or war.

Anyone with an iota of common sense would not claim mastery of something they are obviously ignorant about - its not stopping you from claiming expetrise on both war and religion.

What a wonderful magical thing atheism is that we can be ride of academic standards and simply be gifted knoweldge through magic implimentation.

Hey this is not the Islam that kill people. the people kill people. Islam, Christian, Jews ... these are the tickets that the politicians use it to achieve their goal.
I'm A Muslim, and I am proud to be Muslim.
Because I have a Ideology to live.
I have a goal for my life.
I don't know that how much you hear bad story about Islam and I don't Care, because it's innocent of all Bad , because it's The line between good and bad.

We are(all the Muslims) love people because of their religion. If some one some day do an evil thing and said Islam said that believe me that's false.

and believe me the war that USA involved is not the religions war... it's the power war, the Oil war, and It is the beginning of its end.
I like American people but I say WW6 began with this political way.(Islam o phobia)

    Another question for Muslims:

How come Muslims can't get along with anyone else, or even each other?

The entire Muslim world is wracked with civil wars, terrorism, and sectarian violence.

Please explain why Islam brings war and suffering everywhere it goes.

It started with 9/11, an unprovoked attack that killed 3000 Americans.

Oklahoma City bombing, neo-Nazis, the turner Diaries, abortion clinic bombings .... etc.

Yet when other socities have these things, suddenly they are endemic? Out of control?

Or possibly you are focusing on the negative and avoiding all possible positive? Is that Islam's fault?

Did you even read my post? I'm not talking about the terrorist parts of every religion. The Hindu Tamil Tigers are the most lethal terrorist group in the world. But when I see a Hindu, I don't blame or even relate them to the Tamil Tigers. I don't blame Christians for IRA's or ETA's thousands of deaths or even for the American Army. I don't blame Jews for JDL or Lehi actions. Yet somehow, my Jordanian, Iranian and Turkish friends have to deal with people's reactions from an action performed by Saudis and Afghans who were from another religious denomination.

I don't defend the terrorists, I never have, I never will. I will defend those who become associated with terrorists for no reason.
I don't believe that you are a part of some huge international conspiracy to thwart innocent Muslims if that's what you mean. I don't believe you are Jewish because you have positive feelings towards a Jewish state.

A few years ago, I acted in a theatre. Now, this is not to brag about my incredible acting skills, but I learned a thing or two about how people take in information, how actions become interesting and how characterizations happen.

I believe that the way we receive information has gone through a next to evolutionary development. Media portrayed the 9/11 attacks and noticed how incredibly easy it was to antagonize Muslims. They look different, they have other mindsets, another religion, speak another language, they live far away, not many people have close friendships with them, they even have the classical evil-attributes, black hair, bushy eyebrows, distinctive beards, even shaven they get a 5 o'clock shadow really quickly. On top of this, the attack was based around the Israel-Palestine conflict, which the US already had Israel's side on, so they became a natural enemy both logically and emotionally and those who were not responsible for the terror received the same treatment without having done anything.

Now, media would be responsible for this, but in their defence, this caricaturisation almost creates itself. Media was probably not out to get the Muslims, I believe they were just trying to sell papers and air-time. The American capitalistic system does not benefit conspiracies amongst media, it benefits spectacularism and basic psychology.

I believe the fear you are feeling (I'm not sure fear is the right word, I do not wish to call you a coward, but I don't know how to describe your feelings towards Islam) are a result from that. I believe I would have the same feelings, had I seen the same media coverage. And I believe that the reason you write what you write are genuine concern. But I believe that it is misinformed concern.

One cannot deny that there is terrorism, and the terrorists deserve what they deserve. But it is the part of the population that aren't terrorists that get the short end of the stick with the current rhetoric. It's not like denying Hritul the electrical engineer a job is fighting terrorism.

Let me ask you a question, if someone drew a cartoon of Jesus doing some inappropriate act, would that cartoonist have to hire security guards to protect himself from murderous Christians?

You already know the answer, no he would not.

Personal insult reported. Play nice or you will be banned.

When Catholics, Protestants and Jews people over religion, they are DISOBEYING the tenets of their religion. They are being BAD Catholics, BAD Protestants, and BAD Jews.

When Muslims kill people over religion, they are OBEYING the tenets of their religion. They are being GOOD Muslims.

Islam hasn't gone very far. Islam has rarely spread outside of it's "natural habitat", small tribes with many reasons to fight amongst each other.

There are a few major Islamic areas. There is the Middle East, stretching all the way to Pakistan, there is North Africa, there is the rest of Muslim Africa and there is Indonesia. I hope I haven't missed anyone.

Indonesia is doing just fine. The "rest of Africa" part is having problems, but they are mainly caused by extreme scarcity of everything.

So let's talk about MENA, Middle East and North Africa.

There are many things that split this area. Let's name a few.

First, there is tribalism. When Islam was formed, Europe had nations and cities but most of the people around here lived in tribes. Most tribes had quarrels with the near-lying tribes, that's the sort of stuff that happens when small groups of people try to adhere to completely made up borders they can't keep track of.

Then there is peoples. There are Sudanese, there are Egyptians, there are Arabs, Turks, Persians. These peoples are as different as, let's say, Slavs, Germans, Spaniards, Italians and Scandinavians. Now do these peoples normally get along?

Then add some religion. There are Jews, there are Christians, Copts, and the different kinds of Muslims, Sunni, Shia, Sufi and several Smaller ones. That is more diversity than was ever found in Europe, yet Europe was having a war-heavy time too.

Now this much, even Europe had, and frankly, Europe was more war-torn than MENA for most of the time.

Then there is the later historical aspects. First came the colonization. French, English, Spanish, Netherlands, Germans and Turks all had different claims on different areas under different times and they advocated a thinking where "we are better than them" existed everywhere and created additional sparks all over the area.

Then there is the Communist era. The splittings between those who wanted to join the Soviet and did, those who wanted to join the Soviet and couldn't, those who didn't want to join Soviet but were forced to and those who didn't want Soviet and didn't get Soviet created yet another pattern of borders, all over which hatred and animosity was encouraged by Communists and Anti-Communists.

Finaly, there is the Oil. The economical treasure that the black gold provided became even yet another cause for inequality, luck and jealousy over the area.

Many mindsets that were set under the time have then stayed along. Obviously, none of them are still colonies, but nonetheless, the mindsets stay for several generations. Just look at Israel-Palestine. That entire conflict is based in Britain mucking up the borders when they first moved out.

Now if this wouldn't be enough to send any area into bitter conflicts, then I can't imagine a part of the world which wouldn't have peace.

Many excuses but it all comes down to one thing, "We can't get along with anyone, and we can't even get along with each other."

The constant infighting among Muslims has sucked the United States in, and now we're playing the grownup trying to keep the kids from fighting in the schoolyard.

This is a thankless task, but someone has to do it because of all that oil the Muslims are sitting on.
