    I'd rather see someone give up their huge SUV in favor of a smaller vehicle that took less expensive metal and fossil fuels to operate, than to see an old lady starve. Sorry.

    Would you use a gun to force someone else to sell their SUV and feed that old lady?

    That's awfully authoritarian for someone who claims to be civilly libertarian if true.

    In a "war", we need to have the best of the best. Put yourself in the shoes of the guys on the front. I think the troops will be better able to perform there dutys with AC. AC fights the extreem weather so our men don't have too.

    Where were you when we sent our soldiers overseas to put a gun to the head of a population and country .. yet again in order to secure psuedo-cheap fuel for that SUV.. I guess the crime isnt the gun to head in your eyes.. the key factor is to whose head is the gun pointed at.

    Funny thing .. perspective.. those terrorist that bombed the towers.. the Oklahoma bombing.. etc.. they had a perspective that allowed for justifiable killing and violence too.

    So in the end its SUV over old lady when it comes to something worth killing for huh?

    The AC is there so the troops dont start saying.. F***K THIS BULLSH8T!". They have been there far too long and approaching fatigue. Consider the AC's like welfare for the poor in this country.. its there to keep the drones from getting angry enough to rise up.

    should have went with diesel..but anywho...

    finish the war, and the troops can come home and bring the a/c with them.

    if any republican is re-elected they will continue the war for as long as possible...

    it helps military contractors profit as well as oil businesses.

    From the way I understood it Ron Paul wanted to bring the troops home to save taxpayer money on air conditioners.

    If there were no American troops in Afganistan or Iraq they wouldn't need air conditioners.

    Now think about it.. Instead of manning up and just bringing the troops home, Ron Paul wants to do the passive-aggressive thing and take away their AC.

    Why not just take away their rations until they are fed up and find their own way home??

    I am NOT impressed.

    However, I will agree that Ron Paul should know better. My expectation is that Ron Paul would withdraw troops before denying air conditioning. It was a statement to bring awareness of the magnitude of the dollars wasted overseas and how the money could be spent in the USA. Should Jim Hoffa Junior be arrested for terroristic threats to the Tea Party, or are we all adult enough to understand that the conceptual statement of "taking someone out" is a reference to voting them out?

    Taken in context.. Hoffa was saying the American worker should fight to keep US manufacturing in the US.. Nothing passive aggressive about that.

    Thats not true... plus the troops would survive without AC.. when I was in the military we trained in NTC (death valley) in 120 degree temps for months with no ac. Ac isnt even feasible in war anyway. When you have A/C in your base and you are an armed force.. its no longer a war.. its an occupation. Thats what Ron Paul wants to end.

    Millions of Iraqies live in that country.. for thousands of years. Do you really think that our troops couldnt handle it?

    I think it a hardship... I lived in Arabia 20 years.

    You can get thru the heat and the shamals in the daytime, but you don't recover at night.

    Then Ron Paul should have said "end the occupation" instead of being coy about air conditioners.
