I seem to be getting some half decent wood. The blond wood must be some kind of pine or maybe a sweetgum. Been watching woodworking videos and found a few projects worth trying when I get time.

As Hank Hill would say, I'll tell you what. Breaking down pallets is hard work. It makes muscle work. But after a while the benefits outweigh the pain. I am being to feel a lot closer to healthy. And I sleep much better.

There is something to be said for being tired after physical exertion.

We've got a stack of pallets that will slowly get torn apart also. May not happen until summer, too many other things need to happen in the yard.

It gets so hot here, tearing down pallets in the summer is misery. I will probably..... if still alive and functioning use that time to clean up the wood and build something.

I'm excited. Divorce was final 2 weeks ago and home sale closes on the 29th and we got our asking price in 2 days on the market. My monthly bills will total $850 + groceries and I will have no more financial ties to the X.

My 20 year old son graduated his 2 year diesel tech school and is about to be making $10/hr more than my X. My military service paid for his education.

My 2nd grandchild, due in May, is a girl. I just spent 2 weeks with my other granddaughter in Delaware. I sent lots of pictures to the X of me taking her to movies, gymnastics classes, swimming, to restaurants, bowling, and to see Santa Claus. X is green with envy because she is not very welcome there because of how she dragged my son and his family into her affairs and our resulting divorce. She also can't afford to take off of work to see them. Revenge is sweet because she did it all to herself and her boyfriend also dumped her.

I hope all of you and your families who live in Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee are safe. Its heartbreaking seeing the massive devastation and knowing families have lost loved ones.

20211211_131525.jpg I guess this is table top. Used the rain to make it out of pallet wood. It was going to be a miter saw table but my wife wants it. So it's a table/bench when finished. The frame is poplar and the slats are oak. 20211211_121956.jpg This is the underside. With no thickness planer or joined it is what it is. Next time everything will be run through the table saw to fit better.

Apologies ,but I am retired and always hated working for other people. But you can learn to do anything with you tube. Besides bathrooms suck. A walk in closet lined with cedar is nice.

@politicalcenter did you get any bad weather last night? We got some warnings but all was well. We only got the warnings. It looked like the storm was headed towards your area.

I showed my husband your table and he said it was great. Great use of something that proves one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. You did well.

Fixing to go ride this, down some dirt roads and a little sort of redneck biker homeowners association if you will.

The only rules to speak of are don't poach the deer and leave other people's things alone.

Didn't mean to post that yet. You can shoot guns and hooten holler all you want.

It's a 20-in e-bike. Kind of a lazy man's bike if you will but it will haul ass at 20 mph on dirt roads. IMG_20211212_154719_2.jpg

We went to Shy Wolf Sanctuary, in Naples, FL, yesterday. Going to animal sanctuaries is a favorite activity, except for the part where I have to hear about how cruel people can be.

This guy is the wolf we were allowed to pet. He was horribly abused. They fixed him up, except for his ears. They had to remove them completely, since the poor thing was in pain.

He was super friendly, and let us all pet him. Such an amazing experience.

We got to see 60 animals, not all wolves.

People who volunteer to work with abused animals are a special breed.

Me and some friends occasionally fish at a Bridge on 41 east of Naples. The snook fishing is phenomenal.

Over a 100 mile drive from here in DeSoto county.

It was 90 minutes for us; just a quick drive on alligator alley, which has so many birds to see, it’s hard to be bored.

Oddly enough we launched a boat one of those days and one about 3 miles by water and saw not one alligator.

Saw plenty of birds but hell I can see more Gators without ever leaving the county
