I have heard this repeated so many times, but no one has been able to spell out the gay agenda without invoking conspiracy theories.

So aside from banning heterosexual marriage, forcing everyone to be gay, and raping children, what is the "gay agenda"? I have a hard time believing that a movement to grant equal rights to a social minority would have dark intentions.

It depends whom you ask. Conservapedia says:

It all has a 'conspiracy theory' ring to it, often relying on portraying the actions of individuals acting on their own as being organized by a larger movement. I suppose we an discuss any possible untruths contained above, if you like.

Others like to cite Kirk & Madsen's "After the Ball" which they claim lays out the following agenda:

There was also a satirical article by one Michael Swift in the Gay Community News that originally contained a disclaimer that it was "...an outré, madness, a tragic, cruel fantasy, an eruption of inner rage, on how the oppressed desperately dream of being the oppressor." It has since been entered into the Congressional Record as if it were a factual representation of a gay agenda, minus the disclaimer.

And then there's "The Gay Agenda" series of videos put out by the Family Research Council. (actually, if you want to talk organization, there's a host of these groups connected to each other through the Arlington Group: the Alliance Defense Fund, American Family Association, Focus on the Family, Family Research Institute, Traditional Values Coalition, etc. - and many of them have been labeled hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center. What do they have in common? Religion). Funny, I don't see the National Organization for Marriage listed in the Arlington Group's ranks; they're basically a shadowy group with links to the Mormons.

If you'd like to discuss any particular point, I suppose we could waste our time doing that. The bottom line is that there are a lot of people who have allowed themselves to be persuaded that gay people are essentially the bogeyman. The arguments engender a lot of fear, and no small amount of anger at the idea that their moral disapproval of homosexuality is the least bit open to question, and at being made to look like bigots.

I say, if the shoe fits...

And you won't. No matter what is said in this thread. Because you already have your mind concretely made up before asking the question. So there is no point in discussing this with you.

The Gay Agenda.........Agenda?....What a load of crap.

Bottom Line..."The annoying gays should have no agenda".

Their nothing worth paying attention too. But...They should be equal to patients in Mental Hospitols.

Anyone who does not know, what a Man and Women were intended for..and dispute that. They need to be commited.

Amusing thing is, there were just a couple things on the Conservapedia page that I would have a less than favorable opinion of. However, as you said, they largely rely on conspiracies. Conservapedia is laughable to begin with, my favorite example being Einsteins Theory of Relativity is actually a liberal plot to force relativistic reasoning onto the populace.

I posted this thread in hopes that that someone could come up with something. Just one the things I do on PF, I post threads of which there are no easy answers. I am sure my position is clear in the OP.

A great deal of energy and money is put into denying a social minority equal rights, its quite sickening.

So you took the time to post..... why?

I thought we were in league with the devil? End of the world deal and bringing the wrath of god to all man kind? The fun stuff.

Really, though, I think such aspirations are way to high and we should call it good if we get a constitutional amendment to prohibit republicans from marrying.

    Its coming. Be afraid.

    It's real simple.
It's forcing everyone to accept homosexuality as being normal.

So homosexuals can feel free to be homosexual in parks, restaurants, public places without fear of people staring at them, calling them names and/or puking their guts up.

Keep it private and you won't have a problem with me. Bring it out into the public and we have a problem.

    Well, THAT goal is impossible.

And that leads to the following question:

What else could it really be?

I might actually consider this however I doubt very seriously that you would ask the same of heterosexuals. Instead, I feel your bigotry is showing, being that you have an issue in seeing homosexuals act as everyone else in public. Your strawman is quite evident of this, no one is forcing anyone to accept homosexuality is any sort of norm or whatever, but to be granted the same rights as those in heterosexual relationships.

Social repression is hardly an answer.

If your education has led to this as the best you can do in handling the English language, why should we take your argument any more seriously?
You make it very easy to ignore your input.

Very well said. It was easy to understand. And right too the point.
    But
Most of all, it was being truthfull. In a normal persons way of expression.

If you see two men or two women in a public place holding hands you want to reserve your right to harass them?

    Who's saying anything about hate?

    OK...look at it this way.....
You take good care of your bodys outer skin. By keeping it clean, fresh and healthy. Looking good....Right?

Now your working outdoors in the yard around certain plants and bushes. You spot some Poison Ivy. You avoid touching it....Right?
And you put on gloves, and yank it out by the roots....to remove it.
Why?....Because you know it is bad. And can give you a bad skin irretation problem.

Now, different scenerio.....lets say you spot the same Poison Ivy plant, and just ignore it. In time the plant will grow and grow. To a degree of take-over of the yard. Making it more difficult to remove. And hard to ignore.

Now, Do you dislike the plant when it was small weed?.... Or, would you hate the tremendous annoying bush it grew to be.?

So, I do not hate any gays...I would just prefer they not throw themselves on the normal civilization, and demand acceptance as part of the norm. They are not normal and bad for total mingling society lifestyle.

You compare people to a weed that needs to be uprooted and say you don't hate them?

This is part of the normal persons way of expression, but it is not hate.

So what does hate of lgbt people look like?

What does a society that does not accept lgbt people look like?

I can make the same plant argument about Conservatives, who are WAY more belligerent and "in your face" than any gay person I've ever met.

right gay day parades is forcing us to accept homosexuality. Cross dressing and suing an employer for firing them for cross dressing is forcing us to accept their homosexuality. Sitting in park smooching is forcing us to accept their homosexuality. Acting gay and expecting not to be fired for it is forcing us to accept their homosexuality.

Get out of my face with this (*)(*)(*)(*) and keep it in the closet where it belongs.

Why keep saying STUPID things like the above? So ridiculous and untrue. :(

More stupidity! You are the kind of misguided person, who doesn't even know that homosexual people are likely near/dear to you. Most of us likely look and act just like you do. You really don't know, and that is apparent. It's all so STUPID (the things you are saying here).

I see you have somewhat of a standard, for saying thing to meet a certain level of STUPIDITY. (Carry on.)

People shouldn't fired because they are homosexual, anymore than they should because they are overtly-heterosexual. You and others promoting some bigoted and idiotic agenda, want to deny people the very pursuit life, liberty and pursuit of happiness you yourselves want. It's a form of HYPOCRISY, that you and those who think the way you do, will not admit to. But don't expect people to keep on tolerating that hateful BS.

Get ready for a fight, with that attitude; people aren't going to hide who they are, because a few bigoted people can't pull their heads out of places where their learning is surely stunted. :(

Until you and others with this CRAPPY attitude actually SHOW me where homosexual people are truly FORCING homosexuality upon others, then I say you need to park your hatred and closed-mindedness in a place where no one has to deal with that destructive, ignorant and foolish negativity (evil).

Seriously? From your local news, to national news, to turning your TV on and watching what they now call "family" channels, to the all gay channel.

There is no agenda. It's all just made up conservative nonsense.

    /sarcasm

Two men holding hands? Two women holding hands?.....In Public?
WOW....I am glad I would never see that sort of crap where I reside.

Although it would be interesting to see what would happen if it did. It would be the making of one hell of a pig roast.

In any case, the world is never going to "ban" homosexuals or homosexuality. You can live wherever you must, for as long as you will. (So be it.)
