Michael Regan, President Joe Biden’s freshly sworn in Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator, is seeking to clean up the mess left behind by the previous administration’s politically motivated attacks on science.

“When politics drives science rather than science informing policy, we are more likely to make policy choices that sacrifice the health of the most vulnerable among us,” Regan wrote in a letter to his staff obtained by NBC News.

“Manipulating, suppressing or otherwise impeding science” has “real world consequences for human health and the environment,” the administrator said.

Repairing the damage done to government agencies by the Orange Fraud is a monumental task.

Agreeing with me is great. Just wasn't sure if you were aware of it.

So you believe that Presidents, once they leave office, should be allowed to get away with any criminal activity they committed. I disagree...

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack told the Washington Post that the Trump administration gave only a tiny slice of the funds from its Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) to Black farmers.

“We saw 99 percent of the money going to white farmers and one percent going to socially disadvantaged farmers,” Vilsack said. “And if you break that down to how much went to Black farmers, it’s 0.1 percent.”

“Look at it another way: The top 10 percent of farmers in the country received 60 percent of the value of the COVID payments,” he added. “And the bottom 10 percent received 0.26 percent.”

In hard numbers, out of the nearly $26 billion the previous administration awarded to farmers, only $20.8 million went to Black farmers, according to Vilsack.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/...-funds-for-farmers-says-biden-agriculture-sec

Maybe the worst part of the story is Trump's attempts to buy votes in farm country by giving farmers huge payoffs to compensate them for his idiotic tariffs.

A House panel investigating the coronavirus crisis released documents Tuesday detailing how senior White House officials tried to warn then-President Donald Trump of the danger of Covid-19 last March and leaned on federal agencies to offer non-competitive contracts for protective equipment to favored companies.

The more we learn the more it solidifies Trump's position as the worst US president in history.

Court lets woman’s defamation suit vs. Trump proceed again

NEW YORK (AP) — Former President Donald Trump could face questioning under oath about a former “Apprentice” contestant’s sexual assault allegations against him, following a ruling from New York’s highest court Tuesday.

Evidence-gathering has been on hold in Summer Zervos’ defamation lawsuit since Trump asked the high court last year to declare the that the presidency protected him from being sued in state courts. In a one-sentence ruling, the Court of Appeals tossed Trump’s appeal as moot now that he’s out of the White House.

Ivanka Trump's flagship policy program slammed by government auditors

The Government Accountability Office has issued a damning report about Ivanka Trump’s pet project during her time as an adviser to her father, President Donald Trump.

As Ivanka Trump traveled the world talking up the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, a whole-of-government women’s empowerment initiative, deep problems were developing in the implementation of the bipartisan Women’s Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment Act of 2018.

The only thing accurate is your title "The great unraveling", and we are watching the Biden circus of fools and the dems collage of radicals fall apart.
I'd applaud if they weren't doing such great destruction to the nation, while they actually watch and yet have no idea whats happening.
Unlike the three stooges, who were actually smart and just acting- the people are doing the best they can, and it's pitiful.

Is this to distract from the Biden administration? I don't know what this does since Trump isn't in office anymore....unless it's for political reasons, in which case the Dems are using government funds for political gain not to remove a "authoritarian president".

Also, blocking or delaying funds has nothing to do with authoritarianism.

The funds are provided with certain expectations. The Federal government cannot tell states what to do a lot of the time, but the Fed should not and does not have to give them the funds if they are violating the expectations that come with them.

Lynne Patton — a former event planner for the Trump family who was then appointed to a top role at the Department of Housing and Urban Development — was slapped with a $1,000 fine and a 48-month ban from federal employment for her involvement in producing a video that aired at last summer’s Republican National Convention.

Some of the people who were filmed in the video — New York public housing tenants who spoke about their experience with local and federal authorities — later told the New York Times that they were not made aware that they were participating in a video for the RNC. They said that the interviews they did on camera — interviews that were led by Patton herself — were edited to suggest that were supporters of President Trump, even though several of them were not, according to the Times.

Trump campaign issued $122 million in refunds to donors in 2020

Former President Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign reportedly issued a total of roughly $122 million in refunds to supporters in 2020.

The refunds were given, in part, because of a fine-print disclaimer in communications that officials used to continue charging one-time donors or doubling their contribution amounts.

A New York Times investigation published Saturday found that starting in September, with only two months to go to before the 2020 presidential election, the Trump campaign allegedly set up weekly recurring donations as the default for online donors.

Investigators from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office obtained financial records on Thursday from Jennifer Weisselberg, the former daughter-in-law of the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer.

The Washington Post reported that three boxes and a laptop computer were wheeled out of Jennifer Weisselberg’s apartment as part of a grand jury subpoena on Thursday morning.

The news comes after Jennifer Weisselberg, who got divorced from the son of the trusted Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg in 2018 after 14 years of marriage, said that she had seven boxes of financial records from both her ex-husband Barry Weisselberg and from his father Allen Weisselberg. Some of the records had been obtained through divorce litigation, the Post said.

The Trump admin's strategy towards Iran's ability to develop a nuclear weapon is a total failure. Add it to the list of failures.

Iran said Saturday it has begun mechanical tests on its newest advanced nuclear centrifuge, even as the five world powers that remain in a foundering 2015 nuclear deal with Iran attempt to bring the U.S. back into the agreement.

Iran’s IR-9 centrifuge, when operational, would have the ability to separate uranium isotopes more quickly than the current centrifuges being used, thereby enriching uranium at a faster pace. The announcement carried on state TV came on Iran’s 15th annual “Nuclear Day.”

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/10/ira...at-would-allow-faster-uranium-enrichment.html

It may be Israel has set Iran back with an act of sabotage.

THE EXPLOSION AND BLACKOUT at the Natanz nuclear facility in Iran over the weekend raised the specter of past sabotage — including the Stuxnet cyberattack that took out some of Natanz’s centrifuges between 2007 and 2010 as well as an explosion and fire that occurred there last July — destroying about three-fourths of a newly opened plant for the assembly of centrifuges.

Government officials and news reports gave conflicting accounts of what caused the latest blasts, the extent of damage, and Iran’s capacity to quickly recover. Initial reports said there was no harm to the Natanz facility, but Iranian officials later acknowledged damage to its centrifuges.

    https://theintercept.com/2021/04/13/iran-nuclear-natanz-israel/

If so, good for them. But these escalations in measures needed to keep Iran from taking the final steps in their bomb program have the potential to lead to military conflict. Something that would be unnecessary if the Orange Idiot had not withdrawn from the international agreement with Iran.

The Biden administration slapped Konstantin Kilimnik, an assistant of Paul Manafort and alleged Russian spy, with sanctions on Thursday as it escalated economic measures against Moscow.

In announcing the move, the Treasury Department suggested that Kilimnik gave internal Trump campaign polling data to Russian intelligence during the 2016 election.

“During the 2016 U.S. presidential election campaign, Kilimnik provided the Russian Intelligence Services with sensitive information on polling and campaign strategy,” the release reads.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckr...-suggest-deeper-role-of-russian-intel-in-2016

In other words, the Trump campaign "colluded" with the Russian government in Russia's efforts to interfere with the election on Putin's BFF's behalf.

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday rescinded Trump-era limits on consent decrees, which the Department of Justice has used to enforce reforms in police departments accused of widespread misconduct.

Garland, fulfilling a campaign promise from President Joe Biden, said in a memorandum that the Justice Department “will return to the traditional process” that was in place before former President Donald Trump’s administration imposed sharp restrictions on the civil rights tool.

“Together, we will continue the Department’s legacy of promoting the rule of law, protecting the public, and working collaboratively with state and local governmental entities to meet those ends,” Garland said in the memo, which was sent to U.S. attorneys and other DOJ leaders.

An ambassador died and Hillary's destruction of her server that was under subpoena along with a few blackberries that were likewise constitutes actual real obstruction of justice unlike Trumps refusal to cooperate with congressional witch hunts, and said congress not being willing to go to scotus to resolve their differences.

President Joe Biden’s White House officials have removed Betsy Weatherhead, a top climate science researcher at the White House who was brought on board by a Trump political appointee.

The Washington Post reported on Sunday night that Weatherhead had been removed from her leadership role at the White House Office of Science Technology Policy (OSTP), where she led the federal government’s report on the effects of climate change, and reassigned to the Interior Department.

How Trump’s DHS Cozied Up To The Allegedly Fraudulent We Build The Wall Gambit

At first, when We Build The Wall hosted a flashy event on May 30, 2019 near the U.S.-Mexican border, the Department of Homeland Security had no interest in participating.

El Paso’s chief patrol agent Aaron Hull emailed a superior to flag the invitation he had received from Kris Kobach, the group’s general counsel, while clarifying that “We were not involved in any way in the effort.”

“We are declining this invitation,” Hull wrote. “However, I suspect that they will say that we helped/supported/whatever their effort in their press conference today.”

It would take only three months for the DHS to change its tune on the pro-Trump group, which had launched in 2018 to construct sections of border wall on private land with crowdsourced funding. That August, Mark Morgan, then the acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, hosted Kobach and two other emissaries from the group for a meeting in Washington with several other top CBP officials.

It will take years to reveal all the corruption. And we already know about a ton of it.
