The probability is higher than that of misuse.

    Your point is moot.

I bought Sturm Ruger Stock in 2006 when it was $6.50 a share, today it's $53.67 a share! Thanks Obama!

You mean doing something that will be useless because "we just have to do something"? LOL, nothing like emotion and fear driven politics to "get something done".

I mean, if that is as far as your mind can go... then I should not expect more from people who think as you do.

Yeah, there is nothing like the lethargy and nihilistic outlook of one who has decided to give up on solving a national problem. :(

Well let me see, on this issue Democrats have failed to be progressive or Liberal, of course taking the rights to own choice weaponry from gun owners of whom a vast majority of are law abiding citizens is neither Liberating or progressive.

As the Democratic party attempts to manufacture guilt and fear in the American people to attack the NRA which is notably supported more so by Republicans, they completely ignore irresponsible pharmaceutical companies who produce and distribute the drugs that openly boast side effects of violent manic behavior, drugs prescribed to the majority of school shooters of our time. Now is it responsible for a medical professional to prescribe drugs with these kinds of side effects to patients and immediately release them unsupervised into society?

Of course the corporate Democratic party could never possibly point fingers at its own big money lobby and gun control propaganda has been perfected over its extremely long lifespan becoming sophisticated enough that the Dems hardly need change a thing to make if ineffective in swaying the masses.Unfortunately this short term statism will be short lived as people wake up not only to the crimes of our fathers but the crimes our government is committing today.

A government movement chanting no more dead children sounds extremely hypocritical when their current leader supports a drug war and a drone policy that both kill hundreds of children every year, however for all his class warfare tactics our President sees the concentrated suburban children infinitely as superior to foreign children and poor urban Americans who he has slaughtered by the action of our military and our CIA.

As the current Democratic establishment gains steam just as the Bush Theoconservative's they show that they are willing to turn on American citizens in order to maintain their ego and control domestically and abroad, Gun Control is just that, and act of sophisticated Demagoguery to exercise control, to flex their muscle at the opposing corporate party and show their power over the masses.

Oh no, I am sure I can think up a bunch of useless things to legislate based on emotion and fear!

Have you just equated the abolitionist movement to the gun control movement?
In other words: equated gun ownership to slavery?
    How arrogant can you get?

Ah yes, now the NRA makes State law. Gosh, you learn something new every day.

Unfortunately for your made up reality, the DOJ has said that most guns used by criminals are through straw purchases (already illegal) and theft (already illegal) and that more regulations will just increase those. Very few, if any, guns used in crime have ever come from a gun show.

Hey, Gopher, how about answering the question thrown at you instead of changing the subject. How many of those so called 2 thouand lifes would have been saved if the "Assult weapons" ban had been in effect since Jan. 1, 2013???

mhmmm, if only we had a law banning guns then criminals wouldn't have them.

Why don't we just skip the fluff and ban murder?

Friend, I grew up in poverty and NEVER ONCE did I even think of taking a gun out and killing someone. Poverty isn't an issue here. We had more guns per capita back in the 40's and 50's, so why didn't we have this problem back then?? In my opinion it's because back then we payed a price when we steped out of line at home, there were consequences for our actions, there hasn't been that in most homes for 30 years or better.

The only ones that got off a hundred rounds so far was the Holywood bank robbers and they WERE using ASSULT WEAPONS (they were full automatic weapons, gopher, there isn't one semi that fires faster than another semi). And what's funny is, all the so called "Assult Weapons" that have been sold will be grandfathered in if they ever DO pass an "Assult Weapons" ban. That's right, Gopher, you can't have a retroactive ban.

Your in the majority??? Hahahahahahahahahaha...., since WHEN??? Hey, Goph, about 1/2 of the lioberals own guns too and want nothing to do with you so called "Assult Weapons" ban. The only people that do are women and those that know nothing about weapons or how they function.

And I'll bet the over 30,000 people that die by cars every year would also rather be alive. What's your point.

I don't get the impression Tim McVeigh was raised in a "liberal" household.

And the more Lepierre speaks, the more help he is giving on legislation going through.
His latest is a lie he told while speaking. He said " Diane Feinstein, has had a bill "laying" on her desk, just waiting for a chance to initiate it."
Truth is; Diane Feinstein has been "Working" on a bill",it has not been "laying"on her desk.

BS, these laws have been waiting in the wings since the last AWB expired. Also, the NRA and GOP are protecting your rights from the recent onslaught of control freaks in Congress. Not all liberals are frigging nut cases like DiFi and there are plenty of Democrat gun owners and even liberal gun owners.

The attack on the NRA is a partisan attack because they are not on the progressive (read that authoritarian) side of the equation.

Hey Bluebird! Before you move on to your next NRA bashing rant could you please substantiate your last one? I'm still waiting for you to quote the racist comments that you claim were made by LaPierre. Thanks in advance!

Back in the 1930's just about anyone with the money could walk into a local hardware store and buy one of these.

Overall crime rates in britian incrased 40% after the gun ban. Wiki has the write up if you want to go look at it. Same happened in Aussie land, Can't find number for Canada. In the US the only thing that ahs changed in the last fifteen years is that more and more states have adopted so called castle laws, gun overship has proliferated and the number of concealed and carry permits has increased and crime has decreased even murder rates have fallen.
Lot-mustard is the best study to date on guns and violence in the US.
