if you only knew what terrible time people have with the US customs service... btw, what did Russian customs do to your friend that he panicked so? Russian customs are known to be most benign in the world, whereas for instance US customs are known for strip searching the travellers.

    why?

you might think its like Israel/Palestina, but it isn't, unless you visit Donbass or alike. Moscow and Kiev are so far away from the conflict area, the war (if there's one at all) is as further from them as from Berlin.

They pulled him from line and interrogated him (non-violently). They did however tell him that Moscow would be "watching him".

    Yea...way to greet your visitors.

it isn't merely pictures, its a virtual interactive tour through Moscow streets or any other Russian city, you are free to go looking for slums if you like, and when find some then post them on here.

they didn't like the guy, so they roughed him up by destroying his flutes. Russian paranoia? no examples found.

it isn't even Russia in the pic, its some gypsy tabor in Romania... here's Dzerzhinsk, it indeed looks like slums all over but not to such an extent as the article you posted claims - https://maps.yandex.ru/972/dzerzhinsk/?text=%D0%A0%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%81%D0%B8%D1%8F%2C%20%D0%9D%D0%B8%D0%B6%D0%B5%D0%B3%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B4%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%8F%20%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BB%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D1%8C%2C%20%D0%94%D0%B7%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B6%D0%B8%D0%BD%D1%81%D0%BA%2C%20%D0%B1%D1%83%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%B2%D0%B0%D1%80%20%D0%9C%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%B0&sll=37.617671%2C55.755768&sspn=2.499390%2C0.672984&ol=geo&oll=43.446264%2C56.241809&ll=43.446264%2C56.241809&z=15&panorama[point]=43.450640%2C56.245675&panorama[direction]=308.089583%2C5.666667&panorama[span]=130.000000%2C65.609375

there's a lot of gypsies in Romania, so i presumed the gypsy tabor from the article's photo must be residing there.

Lol so you have no proof that the picture of that Russian slum isn't Russian?

Your opinion of where it is, doesn't negate the source. Just because you say it's not Russian, doesn't mean it's at all true. You're just blindly defending the motherland.

In other words, "No ArmySoldier, I gave you a link to images taken on one particular day. I cannot prove that picture is Russian or not. I have no sources to prove that. I apologize, and swear allegiance to the United States of America".

Ok, I may have added that last part in myself :)

You did nothing. You merely speculated that it was from another country, when it clearly is a picture of Russia, used to show the world the depths of poverty they suffer. Your opinion that it was taken elsewhere is just a pathetic attempt to discredit a source more reliable than yourself.

Russia will have slums just as we do here in the United States...the difference will be found in both the Quantity of them and the Quality. When one considers the conditions found within prosperous Russian cities it is not difficult to imagine what these slums must be like, posting a picture is pointless and will never tell the actual story.

I like Russia for its culture and policy though it's known as homophobe and racist country.

    Thanks for the OP.

Btw, how blacks are treated in Russia?

i gave you the link to interactive tour through the streets of Dzerzshinsk as seen from drivers seat so you could go through and see every street of the town but you prefer to stay in denial.

there's never been poverty in Russia, especially one like shown in the pic you posted.

Ah, got it. So the USSR was so incompetent that they could manage the efficient production of bread.

Lol provide a link to your claim of never any poverty in Russia.

LOL! I've watched countless Netflix documentaries in small towns in Russia. It's no secret. Only Soviet-era Putin worshipers would make such a claim.

    Sources (credible).

on the contrary, the USSR was quite competent since they could manage it alright.

how can there be a link to that which doesn't exist?

care to provide a link? Netflix btw is an American provider, so they certainly have an axe to grind here, not show a brighter side of Russia to you a US taxpayer.
