    You're grasping at straws. What makes you think that I'm religious? I am not at all religious.

    Do you think that if 80+% of the cases were in Montana that New York City would shut down?
    This is, at worst, a local problem exclusively reserved to democrat run cities.

    Year ending/deaths
    2011 = 37,000 deaths
    2012 = 12,000
    2013 = 42,000
    2014 = 38,000
    2015 = 51,000
    2016 = 23,000
    2017 = 38,000
    2018 = 61,000
    2019 = 34,157

    Plot it in a line graph like I did if you want. The trend is pretty flat and the highest peak is still below what we are seeing for COVID, despite the fact that we had social distancing for one and not for the later

    Orrrrrrrrrrrr not. I think that the collective Left radically over-hyped this for political reasons having to do with the 2020 election; but then again we won't know for sure until after it is all over when enough statistics have been collected. Meanwhile, intelligent precautions are called for such as masks and gloves and so forth WHILE getting the national economy up and running again.

    And by acknowledging the need for these intelligent precautions you are acknowledging it is worse than the season flu, or at least that you suspect it is. The math is on your side for that suspicion so far. "Maybe look at math" isn't a political statement. There is far more evidence that this disease is more deadly than the flu than there is for some tinfoil nutter conspiracy about a cabal of eeeeeeebil Leftists conspiring to fake the concerns about this disease for political gain.

    Turns out you don't have to be a Biden voter to admit biological facts.

    You mean just like with a normal flu outbreak. 814,587 infected and 43,796 dead out of 328.2 million people -- not counting millions of illegals. Weak numbers, but sufficient for people . . . who mysteriously DO NOT panic over those exact same numbers during a normal flu outbreak. Mysterious are the ways of hysterics.

    Tell me something if you think it will support your weak **** - what is the single deadliest day and week on record from the normal seasonal flu?

    I am in the UK, a friend of mine just got out of hospital, he is fit, in his fifties and was in hospital for three weeks, thankfully he survived, just. If an ICU bed had not been available he would be dead, social distancing is as much to stop hospitals being over run and beds still being available for people like him. Already those in care homes are being told they may not get a ventilator or even be taken intro hospital as their age makes them to fragile to survive. Its a disgrace that the elderly are being given up on. Do not doubt Corvid 19 is a killer.

    Doesn't matter. The rate of infection has slowed to a crawl as have the deaths compared to the hysterical predictions pushed by the Left. Now had the two continued along the lines of leftist prediction then it would indeed have been terrible. As it stands though, the Left convinced the nation to shut down the economy and kick off an economic depression over . . . nothing but the flu.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/02/nyregion/spanish-flu-nyc-virus.html

    I know you didn't ask me but I thought I'd participate and jump in. So according to this, the flu killed 400-500 a day in 1918, and as we know, COVID-19 is about double that on most days. In fact, we haven't had a 400-500 death day in about a month and a half.

    There is the issue with the CDC guidelines on how to categorize Covid-19 and that is definitely inflating numbers(though new tests from Santa Clara/LA give the impression that not so fast, maybe not.) but even with all of that said, Covid-19 is deadlier than the Flu.

    I can acknowledge my desire to turn the economy back on and say that Covid-19 is no joke.

    The reason that the rate of infections and deaths have slowed - to the extent that you can even pretend 20,000+ new infections per day and 2,000+ deaths per day is "slow," it is solely and explicitly because of those "hysterical predictions pushed by the Left" convincing hundreds of millions of Americans to change their behavior and to slow down the spread of this virus.

    The **** do you mean by it "doesn't matter?"

    You want to compare Covid-19 to the seasonal flu after one month of covid-19 deaths in America? Then you should be able to find a remotely comparable month from the hundred or more years worth of data that we have related to the seasonal flu.

    Yeah, according to that paper. When you consider we were some, maybe 20-ish States in 1918, the numbers(combined) might come close to current COVID-19 numbers but let's presume that were the case: Even still, the coronavirus is a novel virus and there should be some degree of safety measures we take.

    Banning sunflower seeds isn't that. We need responsible and smart takes by people in power at this time.

    So the Left's collective 'solution' is continue to PANIC and coincidentlally keep the economy shut down because . . . it's the only possible way that senile Biden could possibly win; that is if the Left keeps the economy down and yet manage to somehow blame it on Trump. For politics the Left is risking sinking this nation into a major economic depression while crooning to the nation that, "It's for your own good." Well, no, it's not.

    NO, the point is that it's more dangerous than the flu. Reading comprehension, man!
