I did not think your question worthy of answering and instead tried to help you understand the fallacy of your comparison.

We got a huge influx, yes; but most of them were decent and law abiding citizens. Houston cops don't cut law breakers any slack.

Would you refuse to vaccinate your children against the Mumps, Measles, and Rubella?

And if your life and health were what was on the line, you'd have a point. It isn't. You don't.

You seem to hold your victim status very closely. Not just with this topic, but on all topics.

You seem not only intimidated by facts but incapable of addressing them, instead resorting to childish fake arguments and refusing to engage any facts in any rational way, not just with this topic but on all topics. Let me know when that changes.

Should you one day value the truth over your political orders, you can practice by citing my post again and making some vague attempt at addressing reality for a change. Tag me when you do.

Also, you might want to work on your reading comprehension skills. I didn't claim victim status for myself. I suggested that you don't use your liberty to victimize others just as I don't plan on using my liberty to victimize others. If you can agree on such simple statements as "Maybe don't murder people" then you understand this logic. If you don't, please seek help.

I'm one of thirteen siblings. In the 1960s, one of my friends got the German measles, so the moms threw a measles party. We had mumps parties and chicken pox parties also. One of my friends went blind behind the measles, but that's going to happen. I'm from another generation, another time, another way of life. Victimhood wasn't cool, manliness was.

To me, you all look like a bunch of snowflakes running from the cooties. It's pathetic really. I'll never be able to look at the men I saw out and about with masks on the same way again. They flinched. They showed themselves. A lot can be read into that. Get sick, and get over it. At some point, we need to let natural selection kick in.

How many have recovered? How many of those who died had an underlying condition? To what extent was the underlying condition equally responsible for the death? Run all that math and you'll get a slightly lower number.

And still a much higher number than we normally have under the flu. This is still a serious pandemic. A "slightly lower number" doesn't change that.

How many people over the last decade died from the flu? Is it increasing or decreasing?

Sure, but it's still a deadly virus, and it puts otherwise healthy people in the hospital and on ventilators, and sometimes kills them, too. It is a killer, contrary to the thread title. It even kills the doctors and nurses treating patients with it.

I don't believe liars. I don't believe it when liars state "facts". Liars lie. I don't know all truth, but I know that liars lie.
I don't believe that what you are citing as facts are at all factual.

And don't give me the whole 'so you think you know better than the church, or you think you know better than the priests.'
I was raised Catholic. That no longer works on me. I do my own reading and make up my own mind.

I'm plotting it out on Excel and I'm not seeing a clear linear relationship . . . at least not a downward or upward one. The trend line looks pretty flat. What worries me is that, even then, this graph is based on numbers without any kind of social distancing measures, and even then COVID surpasses the highest numbers on the graph even over a shorter period of time and even with social distancing measures. So using this an an argument for why we shouldn't worry about social distancing measures is nonsensical.
