Unless race is the reason the crime was committed then it shouldn’t be relevant. And even if race was the cause people saying I don’t want to be around them is just disturbing, especially since one of the most common attribute of a shooter isn’t race, it’s gender.

And anyone saying they don’t want to be around men because of their propensity to be mass shooters would be laughed out of a room

 

I typically do voice my opinion that race shouldn’t be relevant, I feel the same way with college admissions as well as in law and employment.

But I guess expecting others to not be always cognitively dissonant while they complain about it and then do it when it benefits them is the issue here.

Calling out media narratives is one thing but that wasn’t what I was discussing prior to your comment.

 

I know what you were discussing. Your scolding of forum posters for what they want to discuss is the issue. The media makes a big deal out of race when it comes to the shooting of blacks. Heck, the entire left does for that matter but when it's black crime on white, practically the entire left ignores it, and the media barely covers it. People aren't saying race doesn't matter. They're saying that they're tired of the double standards. (see bold below)

 

I believe the Sheriff noted that all six had been involved in some felonious activity before the shootings. I heard today that the 12 year old claimed the other two made him kill at least one of the victims by threatening the 12 year old's family. I oppose the death penalty for several reasons but these three should all die in prison.

 

Except that wasn’t what was said. Feel free to reread some of the comments on page one — you like a few — that have nothing to do with the media.
