The Republican Party has been taken over by fascists. Trump is their leader, and conservativism, within the GOP, have been forced to sit in the back of the bus.

I am progressive. Not a conservative. But my sympathies in this have always been with conservatives. I guess I prefer conservatives to fascists. But now they need to step up and FIGHT for their party and their ideology!

Of course, it's possible that a bad defeat for Trumpist candidates against Democrats, especially in "safe-red" areas, might shake your party back into conservativism and away from fascism. But relying on Democrats alone to give you back your party is not going to work. You will HAVE to do it yourselves. Denouncing fascism, denouncing Trump, denouncing corruption and anti-democracy, with a louder voice than Democrats. You will have to stop defending your party less and your ideology more.

Conservatives are the ones in danger of losing their party forever. We're not! So our fight is not for you. It's for ourselves. Democrats may be reluctant allies. But, in the end, you will need to fight your own battle.

    What a load of crap.

If you're looking for a party taken over by extremists, look in the mirror.

Both parties have been. Moderates are a dying breed. And nothing good will come of it.

I disagree. I think the Democratic Party has shifted to the right of LBJ and FDR. The leadership of the Democratic Party is way more to the right than it has ever been historically. And that's sad, but it hasn't shifted THAT far. Whereas the Party of Trump has gone haywire to the extreme right.

Anyway.,... this is a call for REPUBLICANS, if they ever hope their party to be conservative again. If they fall asleep, soon they will stop seeing conservatives in any position of power again. That's when you'll realize that Fascism will have prevailed in their party.... maybe forever.

Only one party has openly continued to support a candidate who attempted to overturn our elections and install himself as an unelected autocrat. I used to think that both parties had their crazies, but neither was represented by them. But if the GOP remains the party of Trump, then yes, they are represented by the the most looney of their extremes. I'll see what I can do in the primaries, but it isn't looking good.

You make my point. Republicans are getting rid of the conservatives. And the only reason is, not that they can show that those who are "purged" have stopped being conservatives, but that they dared question "The Beloved Leader". Conservatives would have never allowed that.

I completely agree. Both parties have always had crazies. But, in the Democratic Party, they are still pretty much in the background. Just like they always have been.

Cheney? Do you know who Cheney is? A measly House Representative who voted 97% with Trump. She has no power to reduce ... crap! Her problem is that she was in a Party whose leader had no interest in governing, but only in personal profit and becoming an autocratic dictator at ANY cost. And who had ZERO interest in reducing the size of government, but rather to increase its ability to overreach and control EVERYTHING (i.e.: a fascist)

You don't even know what the word fascist means ffs.

If there is any one body looking for perpetual power and rule, it's the ****ing DNC. Hell they are the ones flooding in mass migration in the hopes of replacing enough white people and thus shrinking the republican vote to the point that they are always voted in. At the cost of our social and economical harmony.

I mean they even have the super deligates which all but insure who passes through the primaries to the general.

    But w/e.

So you just claimed she was a conservative without really knowing what that word meant.
So you really are clueless as to what conservative means?
Then why does he upset you so much?

In this context I can only assume "fascist" means someone he's terrified of. But can't articulate why.

    It's the standard OMBS
The person you are talking to is a Marxist by every definition of the word. Part of Marxism is to conference it's acolytes that it's vastly different from fascism. And it works.
When it boils down to it there are only two factions. The governed and the governor. This minutia, this poster is too get us focused on one another while the government hires a legion of agents for the IRS.

I'd say don't waste time with the lemmings. Use them.

The conservative ethos is the best government is the government that governs the least.

Until you understand this you will never get why conservatives that support Donald Trump. You'll be sitting here looking at the neocon fragments of yesteryear not understanding why conservatives aren't neocon.

The easiest and quickest way to tell who the fascists are it's very easy look at who wants to disarm the people. That's always the fascist. Look at who wants to control your ability to get nourishment your ability to travel.

I think there's only one group of people that want the power grid to be the sole arbiter of who gets to drive anywhere i.e. electric cars

Whats the plan? Take control through the free market, capitalism, liberty and freedom while respecting the constitution?
Without their social justice mandates, we would be in feudalism 2.0
Liberals are like libertarians but with common sense.

Rather suspicious that those telling conservatives they need to "stand up and fight" would never want to have anything to do with the conservative movement themselves.

This sounds a lot like progressives calling for reforms in the Catholic Church, even though these progressives would never want to be Catholics themselves, and if truth be told, would probably prefer the whole Church just disappeared, if they had the choice.
