    I can tell you what it was like when Trump was in power.

    Inflation and the cost of gasoline did not result in my ready savings going down each month because of my fixed income. My money in the stock market which will be used by my wife when I pass away was not being stripped away. I could find people to work when I needed an appliance repaired or some carpenter work. I was not concerned about China or Russia. I was not forced to choose between driving a gas hog auto in need of repair and buying a very expensive replacement. I was not concerned about what was going to break next because I knew I could get it repaired.

    In short, my life was much much better.

    Unfortunately, the bulk of this thread has been used as an opportunity to bash 'the other side'. When I read the OP I saw it as a call to conservatives who should want their party back. Those of us leaning left can see that the party has been hijacked and hope that it can move back to where it used to be so that Americans have a distinct choice between two parties representing diverging methods to bring America through her tough times.

    Neither Liz Cheney nor you know what a conservative is. Rather, the correct title for your thread so be: 'This is a moment when neocons need to stand up and fight. And it's not fascists in the GOP it's actual conservatives. Trump has moved the GOP more towards true conservatism to rival Ronald Reagan's influence on the GOP...You wouldn't know, though, since you have no clue (nor does Liz Cheney) what conservativism means.

    The new Republican Party is the direct result of the rapid rise of Progressive ideology that has taken hold in mainstream society and the Democrat Party...

    The traditional Republican Party is being ousted for the simple fact that they've done almost nothing to combat Progressivism in America. The running joke about Republicans even from Republican voters is that Republicans don't do anything. What Republicans have done over the past 20 years is do nothing, wait for Democrats to come up with some radical idea, try to stop it or give in and meet them in the middle. That has led to Progressives gaining some things they want while Republicans losing out time and time again.

    I'll give Progressives credit, they at least fight and fight hard for their ideology and will bombard the whole country until they get what they want. Republicans sit back and watch it happen and do nothing then complain about it. Democrats like traditional Republicans because traditional Republicans don't do anything or at worst actually work with Democrats to implement policies that Progressives want. That's why you have nonsense like Democrats voting for Liz Cheney hoping to help her win.

    Conservatives have grown tired of Republican apathy and lethargy which is why it has become open season on RINO's at the voting booth. The old guard Republicans who don't do anything and/or support Progressive policies are getting purged. Conservatives want a Party that fights as hard for their ideology as Progressives fight for theirs. And the old Republican Party of the Cheney's, McConnells, Grahams, etc isn't it.

    Of course Progressives prefer the old Republican Party...they work with you lol...Same reason why the new MAGA Republicans like traditional Democrats such as Tulsi Gabbard and hate AOC.

    This is misinformation. Trump is the most conservative president since Ronald Reagan.

    And I don't believe in using the term RHINO. There are legitimately in the GOP conservatives, neocons and right libertarians. What is wrong is muddying up the meaning of conservative by including neocons. If one is allowed to include neocons as conservatives, one might as well just include devil worshippers as Christians.

    The Right hasn't fought for Conservative ideology in decades...

    It's a terminology thing that admittedly gets confusing to navigate since multiple "groups" identify themselves as "Conservatives". The majority of people who support MAGA consider themselves Conservative while folks who support Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, etc consider themselves Conservative too.

    To put it simply we can call it whatever. If real Conservatism is the ideology of Liz Cheney then MAGA doesn't like it. If traditional Republicanism is traditional Conservative ideology then MAGA doesn't want that either. And since there are only 2 real Parties and they obviously can't take the Democrat Party MAGA has latched onto the Republican Party and trying to route the old school Republicans who don't agree with them. They'd much prefer a legitimate 3rd "MAGA" Party on par with the big 2 but since that's not realistic they're taking the Republican one over.
