Hey, parents- ask your public school kids if they know what the founding document of the United States is. They won't know. It probably never even came up in class.

Because, you can't have everybody knowing that they all have equal individual rights. That's no way to run a society, so the schools seem to think. They got better ideas than equal rights. Things like black rights and gay rights and and the right for men in skirts to hike it up and tinkle in the ladies' room.

So, instead of equal rights we are all segregated into tribes, warring to see who can claim the most greivences against the other tribes.

It's by design. It isn't withheld but it certainly isn't presented either. Your kids don't know what it means to be an American. They never heard of the Declaration of Independence, much less studied it.

But conspiracy nonsense is so much easier, when one can alter it, on the fly, in an online format. The permanent nature of print, in a book, is much more problematic for a Party that lives in a universe of "alternate facts."

DEFinning, ask your kids about the Declaration of Independence. If you don't have any kids I suppose anyone's kid will do. They won't know the first seven words, much less any of the principles contained in the document.

Seems to me the public school sector is largely made up of leftists. The teachers unionist ran by ought right communists. So, maybe the democrats removed the Declaration of Independence from the curriculum.

LOL-- like that would have satisfied those who went through the trouble of replacing the entire board, at the library. That is, unless by, "just moved the books to a different section," you had meant the basement, locked in a closet, which requires the filling out of a special request form, in order to wait for the library to retrieve it, provided they could read every digit in your hand written library card number, and your signature matches the one on file, and it is accompanied by a permission form/liability waiver, filled out by a parent or legal guardian, and notarized.

Some weeks later, whenever it is brought up to the circulation desk, the patron would obviously need to pick it up immediately-- how could such filth remain in the main library, even if it was in a paper bag, locked in a drawer? I would expect no more than twenty-four hours, for pick up, before the book would be returned to its tomb, requiring the process to start over, with a new set of documents.



This is not "sides of the aisle," as much as it is closed-minded citizens & Republican pols, versus other county residents. Also, you are expecting reasonable compromise, from a side which is considering closing down the county's entire library system, rather than return a dozen books to its shelves-- LOL, once more.
