OK, this is an over-personal thread. I think the most likely comment would be "who cares for what you think and feel?" Yeah, probably, not many. I guess some people here value my opinion and I thank them for their kindness, but many do not.

Anyway, for what it's worth: I think I'll stop trying to say anything at all about Covid-19, the vaccines, and other medical matters. I'll abandon my State of the Vaccines thread (I hope other people will keep it going), and others. Why? Because I'm sick and tired of the conspiracy theories and all the BS that is said about it every day, including here. At this point, my attitude is changing to "You don't want the vaccines? You don't believe in masks if you're still susceptible? You think the virus is no big deal? You harbor conspiracy theories about the virus and the vaccines? Cool. Be my guest and earn the Darwin Award. Just don't come to my hospital seeking treatment if you get sick."

My main reason to post this, is to have the ability to link to this post if anybody asks me about Covid-19, so that I won't need to type it all up again.

I'll change my signature to a political one, not the Covid-19 one I've had since I joined PF.

In my hospital, with the vaccine bump, we are less busy. The number of Covid-19 hospitalized cases decreased substantially. I'm no longer needed on the Covid-19 unit, and I don't need to volunteer to take shifts there any longer since they are no longer overwhelmed and short-staffed.

I can return (and have returned) to my previous pursuits.

And even, I'm now strongly considering an early retirement. I can afford it, and I have other non-medical interests I'd like to pursue.

My wife though, says I'm just burned out and we need vacations. Maybe that's it. We have already scheduled a week of vacation but maybe I need more, like two or three or even four, and then I will come back less burned out (at which point maybe I'll go back to posting comments on medical matters - but not now).

So, good people who are still fighting the good fight, carry on without me. Those who dislike what I post, do to this thread whatever you want; chances are I'm not reading you anyway (I have a long Ignore list).

I'll focus my PF participation on politics for the time being. Have you all a nice day.

Sounds like you're making the best decision for yourself. That's very important.

Thank you for what you've been willing to contribute to educate us about COVID and the vaccines.

I sincerely wish you well in your next adventure!

You can not be out of it.

Sorry my friend we have a duty, once we start it.

We need your information to stay up to date.
Stay out of the political crap.

I have done it, and just post your science and medical expertise.

I need your information to keep over 20 people save.
My job is to know what ever is out there about Covid.

You are the best source for people like me.

Thanks, gnoib, but I'm really exhausted. I think I did enough, over the last 15 months. However, if you have specific questions, ask them by starting a private message thread with me and I'll do my best to answer them.

I have to deal every day with the stupid and ignorant public in a 73% Dotard county. We still have our weekly Dotard car parade on Saturdays.

I am so fooking sick and tired of it. Every week I have to call the cops, because of the mask mandate. Couple of weeks ago a person threw a fit and the cops had to restrain her. Turned over tables and chairs, thrown to the ground, hand cuffs, the whole nine yards.
I am tired of it, as you, I am past retirement age, I do not need that crap, I am just to fooking young for it.
A couple of weeks ago I got in a row with a 30 year old, the mask, put it up, cover your nose, I ain't friendly about it any more, do not ask kindly.
So the dump ass tried to punch me out, because I was not kindly asking him, but telling him.
My employee had to call the ambulance and the cops and than we spent 20 minutes cleaning up.
    Who needs that crap.
But if we let up, them idiots will take over

Nope we can not quit, maybe take a break, have a Bier, good company, enjoy a beautiful friend or what ever.
But give in to those idiots, NEVER

Hopefully it was the dumb ass that needed the ambulance and not you.
I'm sorry you have to go through all that just to get people to comply with the law.
The police must be getting pretty fed up with the amount of time they have to spend explaining to people that if a company requires a mask to be worn then you wear one or leave. It's not as if they don't have better things to spend their time on.

First, many, many thanks for your contributions on this topic. There are few enough people online who have any proper qualifications to comment on specialist topics like this. Your contributions have been greatly valued by those of us interested in facts rather than rumours or conspiracies.

Second and much more importantly, thank you for your work at your real job. It has been a terrible year for many in medicine, yet it would have been so much more terrible without people willing to give more than they had to give to help others. While my society was spared the worst of COVID, I know enough people with close connections to places that have been overwhelmed by the virus to be anything less than awed by those who spent any time at the coal face. Thank you.

Third and finally, I am saddened that what amounts to an outbreak of mass mental illness had driven you to silence on this. It says something very sad about the world we live in that the people who understand this issue get burned out by those afflicted by aggressive ignorance & Dunning Kruger on an industrial scale. However, your decision is understandable. You must be more sick of this disease than most of us can imagine.

See you on the politics boards. :)

I respect your knowledge and your choice but this.....

"Just don't come to my hospital seeking treatment if you get sick."

....is contemptible and unprofessional. Pretty sure you just work there, not own it, right?
It's not up to a medical personnel to decide if a person "deserves" treatment based on their personel judgement of the patient. THAT'S NOT YOUR JOB.
Not what you are paid for, no matter how stupid you think their beliefs and actions. But i'm sure you would justify it by saying their choice puts others at risk. The same is true for many things that might bring someone to an ER, like wreckless driving, would you treat that patient?

Good points, but you do realize it is just a fed-up way of talking, right? Of course I don't deny care to anybody who shows up and I try my best to help and do my job professionally even when the patient is contemptible (such as a pedophile).

Good, I should certainly hope so. I get how exasperating it must be dealing with situations made all the worse by their preventable nature, but that's the world we live in.

There are things beyond our control that we only control how we react and respond to.

You just have to be a dick, you just cannot help yourself. Here we have a medial professional that has spent his time treating COVID patients and all you can do is insult him.

You are a piece of work that is for sure.

Perhaps it was Friday, but the CDC came out and said something to the effect that if you're vaccinated, wearing of masks, worrying about social distancing, etc, are no longer necessary. I hate to always look for the hook, but, given that the Biden admin was so utterly ineffective at virtue signaling the "rightness" of all of their draconian lockdown BS, it appears to me, at least, that the Biden folks suddenly looked at how really unpopular and remarkably stupid their feeble message actually was.

Perhaps the good news here is that the truth came out. That what Biden et al were doing was entirely stupid, and perpetuating that was really hurting democrats. And far be it from the CDC not to take political sides.

So, perhaps Center Field taking a brake just reflects the new reality that there just isn't a need to constantly try to whip the public into a state of fear. It wasn't like folks were going to accept the destruction of their lives and liberties forever....

Why do YOU ignore the knowledge imparted by Dr. Ryan Cole? Judy Mikovits or Simone Gold? If the shoe fits DG, you must wear it.

Answer: because his message of truth and facts scare hell out of you.

Yes, after 15 months of incessant fear-mongering propaganda, the masses are fairly well in a perpetual state of fear over a virus with a 99% survival rate, even as some are coming to their senses.

The facts are that Ryan Cole has treated more Covid patients in the last year than your hero Tony Fauci has treated in his entire life.

Tony hasn't seen a patient since medical school.

Eleuthera, you know that I've never had a problem with you and have openly considered your viewpoint. However, this comment was uncalled for. You may not like @CenterField's position (we all meet people whose opinions differ from ours) but is that a reason to be mean? You're better than that.

He has not treated a single one based on his own site.

As for Fauci, you are obsessed with him while I have never mentioned his name once that I can recall. I do not really care what Fauci says, only you seem to live and die by his ever word.

Many thanks for your thoughtful, informed and insightful contributions regarding the Pandemic as a whole.

You do need to heed the advice of your spouse and take that long vacation and recharge your batteries.

    Take care

I appreciate your honest assessment. Maybe you're right and I've been cruel, but like everybody else I try to call them as I see them.

Having been raised in a drug store and thereby exposed at an early age to representatives of the pharmaceutical companies, I have long been struck by the quality of CF's many threads and posts that suggest he asks no questions of pharma or other medical authorities. Taken as a whole his threads have seemed to simply advance the narrative advanced by pharma, that the vaccines are good, and that anybody who questions anything about their product or agenda is wicked. Sorry. We are all judged only by our posts.
