Let's see if soaring crime, including gun crime happens in Australia.

But perhaps you are right. That's what might happen in the US. I doubt it. But you never know...

This is why we say you do it your way and we'll do it ours.

    And in the real world:

Australians may be more at risk from gun crime than ever before with the country’s underground market for firearms ballooning in the past decade.Previously unseen police statistics show that the number of pistol-related offences doubled in Victoria and rose by 300 per cent in New South Wales. At least two other states also saw a massive jump in firearms-related offences during the same period.”

It has happened in Australia and everywhere else when fundamental human rights are violated by the state.

Small detail. The firearm offenses are possession of firearms. LOL.

Glad we're catching them. We don't want them.

    Google: "Garbage In Garbage Out"

Why would anyone still believe tAustralian government generated crime data?

“A leaked Victoria Police document shows that individual police officers have been trying to manipulate computer data to understate crime rates.

An internal email says "numerous" requests had been made to have entries on the LEAP crime database doctored.
The requests to the force's Central Data Entry Bureau to downgrade multiple so-called crime sub-incidents to single incidents were done to "bring down the crime statistics for their response zones".
The email, sent to about 60 data-entry staff on February 11, said requests to downgrade more than 25 sub-incidents to a single incident should be referred to a supervisor. It was marked "high" importance and signed by the bureau's team leader.
According to one source, requests to data entry staff to alter crime data in other ways were also "very frequent”.”

    When will they ever learn?

Too many lawful citizens. Going to have to reduce that number by dramatic gun law reform. I wonder what the optimal number is.

Again, no idea what our gun laws have to do with that. You can have guns and go shooting in Australia if you need 'crumbs', no problem.

As for Citizens expressing themselves and getting what they need, we don't need guns to do that. Our gun laws reflect what the majority of citizens want. A sensible balance.

Our gun laws reflect what is protected by the Constitution. Or will very soon, anyway.

I support Australia completely disarming its citizens except of course for the wealthy and the politically connected

But your government tells you that self-defense against two-legged animals is not a legitimate reason to have a gun.

Never mind the fact that they feel perfectly justified doing that for themselves

Could you please inform the rest of the Australians and the rest of the world who feels like they should be able to dictate the rights of the United States citizens.... Of your last sentence?

We the American people would appreciate it

Doesn't it make you just a little bit angry that the people that rule over you have declared that you have no right to arm self-defense but they themselves have no problem being defended by guns?

What they're basically telling you is that their life matters more than yours.

And don't feed me the line about they face more threats than the average person because when the average person is facing the threat they are 100% effected by whatever criminal assault is occurring.... And 100% defenseless thanks to their government rulers decrees.

A cell phone in your hand is completely useless when seconds count and the authorities are 10 minutes or more away.

I'm afraid that unless America gets control of its mental health crisis soon, we may have to harden our schools to some degree as the Israelis have.(1)
Perhaps when the country regains its sanity we can loosen security around the schools.
The only permanent solution is going to come from upgrading our mental health care system so that it is on the same level as those "developed" countries to which America is so often compared.

    Thanks,

    (1) "What if American Schools Were Protected Like Israeli Schools?"
    https://www.newsweek.com/what-if-am...rotected-like-israeli-schools-opinion-1712864

EXCERPTS "After the Ma'alot Massacre (1974), Israel put into place a nationwide system to fortify and protect all schools of 100 students or more. There have been no other school shootings in Israel since then.

The first thing the country did after the Ma'alot Massacre was to make certain that each school had a perimeter barrier and guarded entry points. This in itself makes a school an unattractive target for a deranged would-be murderer." CONTINUED

This is why anti-gunners can't be trusted. They'll never stop until everything is banned.

We have plenty of examples of it happening in other countries but somehow we're supposed to believe that's not supposed to happen here.

Of course you don't throw a frog directly into a pot of boiling water you put it in tepid water and then slowly crank up the heat.

Death by a thousand paper cuts

My sister did her student teaching at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx in the 1960's. There was an armed guard on every floor. No problem.
