There are no external parts involved in a hysterectomy.

You can stop all the hormones caused by testicles without removing them. They are removed for cosmetic purposes. And yes everybody should believe the truth.

I'm sorry I just don't believe surgery can treat a psychological condition, you are welcome to believe that.

Making your claim that the surgery is cosmetic, all the more absurd

Ive never claimed that it can. Its the APA and the AMA that believes it can.

No, it doesn't in any way.

Than you agree the surgery is cosmetic?

Complete hysterectomies are not "cosmetic", silly.

Nope. The surgery is completely ineffective as a treatment for gender dysphoria.

I was talking about male to female sex reassignment surgery. Appendectomy isn't a cosmetic procedure either but just like a hysterectomy it isn't relevant.

That would make its purpose strictly cosmetic.

No, it's accurate. I entertained your diversion.

Lol, now post ad hominem because your argument was debunked.

    What a class act.

You haven't debunked anything and sex reassignment surgery is still not cosmetic surgery. Health Insurance doesn't pay for cosmetic surgery, but it does pay for sex reassignment surgery. Prisoners don't have a right to cosmetic surgery. They have been held by courts to have a right to sex reassignment surgery. No its not cosmetic. Its treatment for gender dysphoria. Ive presented links to NHS and APA material that confirms this fact. In the two weeks weve had this debate, YOUVE presented nothing other than the thoughts bouncing around your own head to support your assertion that it is cosmetic surgery.

Derived from the APA and NHS. As opposed to your view derived from the random thoughts bouncing around in your head.

This isn't relevant to the discussion. surgery to change what something looks like is cosmetic. I don't believe that it treats anything. thus it is strictly cosmetic if you ask me.

Only because youve convinced yourself that while your opinion is controlling, the opinion of the APA and NHS is irrelevant. So full of yourself.

So you believe that surgery is a treatment for gender disphoria?

    I simply don't believe that.

Weve been over this twice before. I dont believe it is a legitimate treatment for any such thing. I agree with The Dr that closed Johns Hopkins sex reassignment clinic. Its not treating the disorder it is cooperating with it. It is the APA the AMA and the NHS who sell the procedure as treatment for the mental disorder. AND STILL, the removal of testicles and complete hysterectomies ARE NOT cosmetic procedures.

Than it must be cosmetic surgery. Whether it's considered that our not is not relevant.
How can it not be cosmetic if it didn't treat anything? What is it than? I am not talking about what the PC assclowns want to call it. I'm talking about what it really is. I suggest it's cosmetic. You day it doesn't treat anything, but you keep arguing that it is a treatment.

    Why not?

The question is NOT whether it is cosmetic surgery, but whether it is only cosmetic surgery.

Silly fool logic. Ineffectiveness as a treatment, doesnt render a medical procedure cosmetic.

An ineffective medical treatment. Blood letting didnt treat the diseases it was purported to, but that doesnt make it cosmetic.

Becuase the changes made are beyond cosmetic changes. Removing testicles doesnt merely change ones appearance. Complete Hystorectomies dont even change ones appearrance but they have a dramatic effect upon the body's function.

You have not explained how out isn't cosmetic even if it is said to be a treatment for something.

It also wasn't specifically to change the appearance of something. So no (*)(*)(*)(*).

Both of those things change appearance. That is the primary reason for them.

There's even less consensus about what causes transgenderism than there is about homosexuality.

Fact is there are people who've been wrongfully diagnosed and later regretted the surgery - this is why treating a psychiatric diagnosis with genital removal is a dangerous proposition.

I'm sure many people regret elective surgery.

And how do people know it was because of his parents?

I think many if not most transgenders are mentally ill people and don't need to be treated with surgery; they likely have other psychiatric issues or hormonal imbalance.

    - - - Updated - - -

That doesn't even make sense to me.

If it's not done to treat the disphoria, just for "cosmetic" reasons then that means the person isn't really transgender, just a "transvestite".

Surgery has nothing to do with transgender or transvestite. the surgery doesn't treat anything, it helps people cope.
