What was the plan in Houston when it flooded? What was the plan in New Orleans when it flooded? How do you plan for complete devestation?

Oh, grow up. PR is in the Caribbean. Hurricanes and deaths happen, and anyway they're not all dying. They're struggling.

The response should be led by the local government. They are incompetents and whiners.

Well you know PRs don't vote, so in his mind they really don't matter.

When the ENTIRE ISLAND is wiped out the responsibility lies with the US government.

I don't remember Houstonians whining and blaming Trump like you and the PR mayor are doing. That's the difference.

They didn't have any need to whine because the response to Houston and Florida was overwhelming and immediate.

Yeah, especially when they support their story with documentation like pictures and sound. Who in their right might could believe that crap? Go drink some more kool-aid.

Trump thinks he's manipulating people with his inflammatory commentary. I don't think it's becoming of the president. I don't think its appropriate. I don't think it's helpful.

But so far his opponents keep showing him that it is effective. Everyone just forgot about the nfl and is going to go wall to wall Boriqua podera now.

Now is not the time to figure out who's to blame for what. Now is the time to respond and to react to the immediate needs of the people of Puerto Rico. Figuring out who's fault it is is not going to get more aid to people who need it.

You're welcome. Puerto Ricans are far more concerned with relocating than rebuilding. After all it's nearly the 1st of the month ... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welfare_in_Puerto_Rico Residents aren't going to assist in rebuilding subsidized housing, public schools, or the islands infrastructure. They have no motivation to do so. Puerto Ricans haven't demonstrated a scintilla of the resolve, and commitment we've just seen in Texas.

PR is rather like CA and NO. First the corrupt political class takes the funds needed for the infrastructure then they cross their fingers and hope they get away with it.

“More than a decade ago, federal and state officials and some of California’s largest water agencies rejected concerns that the massive earthen spillway at Oroville Dam — at risk of collapse Sunday night and prompting the evacuation of 185,000 people — could erode during heavy winter rains and cause a catastrophe.”, MERCURY NEWS, Oroville Dam: Feds and state officials ignored warnings 12 years ago, By PAUL ROGERS, 2/12/17.

Assumes extremist alt right disinformation AGAIN!

Exactly how much resolve would Houstonians have had if they were stranded with nothing 1000+ miles from any help?

Houston was surrounded by immediate aid and resources whereas PR was completely wiped out and were abandoned by your BLOTUS's regime for all intents and purposes.

Yeah I support Trumps comments on the issue of this Mayor praising the effort and now a few days later ripping him over the effort. Along with the Governor of Puerto Rico who knows a whole lot more than some Mayor.

Puerto Rico Gov Praises Federal Response | The Daily …

So when do you think Chucky Schumer, Pelosi, or the DNC contacted this emotional wreck that somehow got to be Mayor of San Juan? I'm going with Right after Trump spoke up.

Does no-one on the right find Trump's comments repugnant? To say the mayor spoke against him because democrats told her to? And then to blame the islanders for not pitching in? Even if that were true, which I very much doubt, to voice it when the island has been so decimated is crashingly insensitive. So the mayor said some mean words? Suck it up and show some empathy for what they're going through. People aren't likely to be perfectly rational when their whole life has been turned upside down.

I think this is going to be very big news, and it won't be because of the 'lamesteam media'. It's because it's really offensive.

I don't know seems Trump is doing a better job getting along with Schumer and Pelosi to me.

How do we know it wasn't McConnell or Ryan who made the call?

NO was incompetent local government leadership along with the Feds. Houston and Texas in general seems to be moving forward. Now, tear me to shreds if you can.

This is the Left for you, folks. The claim is first made that Trump "completely abnegated" his responsibility. The proof? Trump slapped back at the local government because, only hours before, the GOVERNOR of PR praised the federal response, this to the disappointment and frustration of the scummy CNN interviewer trying to stoke hatred for Trump.

Now, as you see, the claim is that pictures prove there is devastation, as though that addresses the question of whether the federal government is responding.

It's no fantasy that Puerto Rico was bankrupt BEFORE the hurricane, or that the reason is Puerto Ricans welfare dependency. One third of the islands population on gov't assistance. Not even Greece matches them. Subsidized renters don't rebuild, they relocate. Orlando, and NYC already flooding with "refugees". PR wants more subsidized flights out of San Juan, not temporary shelters and building materials.

Of course they are moving forward, but the response to those areas was huge. Folks were not left hanging for weeks because of political or bureaucratic BS.

What does any of that BS have to do with the lack of response from this administration?

Yea lets see how long it takes before resorts start popping up all over PR.
