Trump will be arrested Tuesday....

I think he will probably be indicted soon, but who cares? It will only increase his support across the country. If Democrats think this will be the end of Trump they aren't reading the room.

 

I don't have any "wild eyed hysteria about Trump", he's not being criminally investigated for committing multiple crimes in several different jurisdictions because of me or who you think I am. It's actually impossible to have any fact based conversation with any Trump worshiper because facts are not a part of their mindset. The only "facts" that matter to them is what Trump tells them are "facts", regardless of reality. And like Trump, you decided what the facts are despite the black and white evidence proving otherwise. Monkey see, monkey do. Did you try disinfectant injections yet?

 

“The middle” seems to a dying breed. I could accept some compromises, but the left won’t hear of it, and neither will the far right. Excessive government spending (bills in the trillions of dollars at a clip), abortion, immigration, ever more intrusive government and poorly planned climate change legislation and regulation are examples of where neither side of the political spectrum will budge.

 

I see a consensus developing around abortion rights for women, gun rights for gun owners, and an end to the war on drugs. A couple of other things... limit illegal immigration, deal with street crime.

Trump lawyer M. Evan Corcoran has hired his own lawyer - Will he take the 5th or be given immunity & spill the beans? He could cause even greater harm to Trump.

Corcoran has appeared before a grand jury in connection with U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation into classified documents taken to Mar-a-Lago following Trump's term in office and possible attempts to obstruct that probe. He appeared before the grand jury in early January, according to a person familiar with his appearance.

The New York Times reported this week that U.S. prosecutors are seeking to question Corcoran again, asking a U.S. judge to pierce attorney-client privilege by arguing that they've uncovered evidence of a crime.

Although as a party Democrats are pretty conservative they do have some far left who get a lot of press but have little power. It's time, or at least nearly time for old fashioned middle right Republicans and middle left democrats to create a new party.

TRaitor tRumps been over the line legally most of his adult life and ends up in jail for bribing a bimbo. And the funny thing is even if he runs for president from jail and wins, he can't pardon himself because it's not a Federal charge.

 

If the arrest comes off, this will only energize Trumps rabid supporters. He will once more be a political martyr which will make him even more attractive to them.

As for Alvin Bragg, the foolish and incompetent district attorney who is bringing this case, it will make him the laughing stock among those with some brains and a hero for the dingbats who are of the AOC persuasion.

Bragg most think this is his ticket to higher office. Since he’s in New York City and State, he might be right. Any state that could elect Kathy Hochul governor after she made light of the crime problem in the debates, has to have its collective heads screwed on backwards. Her election shows that the Democrats could nominate a scarecrow for governor and ride it all the way to the Albany Statehouse.

This is just the warm up. Most of his followers will leave him when he boards the PAC ship outside territorial waters when the more serious charges hit as well as the bankruptcy.

I don't think Bragg is doing this to push his career (although that could be a side effect). Recall a few months ago he was asked about the Trump investigation and he said that there just isn't much of a case to bring to indictment. Well he caught hell for that so I think he's simply buckling under political pressure to indict Trump.

Or...there could be some brand new evidence that showed up that changed the course of the investigation, but I think that's the least likely option.

In other words, Trump's lawyer said he made up Tuesday as the day he'll get arrested after reading the Manhattan DAs leak.

Oh... I know! Somebody who has to announce when they put somebody on "ignore" because, otherwise, nobody would notice.... or care...

 

Except he's not their only target.

 

That is a definite possibility, of course. Especially because this is not the strongest case against him, from the viewpoint of legal strategy. But it does signal that Trump expects to be arrested at some point.

Personally, I don't think THIS will be the end of Trump. If he is arrested, it's simply the first opportunity to see him as a defendant in a criminal case. But January 6, his attempt to overturn the Georgia election and his theft of government documents are more likely. Just that Trump has committed so many crimes, it's difficult to spot which one will be his ultimate demise.

It could happen if the political extremes make it difficult to get anything done.

On the left, we have environmentalists who oppose virtually every new energy project, even if it's an oil pipeline or power transmission line. We have eight trillion people in the world, four times more than a century ago. Just to keep people alive, we need to use more resources. On the other side, we have anti-abortion types who act like we can continue adding people to the planet without suffering perhaps irreparable harm are banking on technological advances saving us. We can't afford let these people get in the way of getting something done.
