We've lost 68,000 people so far. We are losing almost 2000 people a day and that is expected to rise to 3000 per day over the next month. Trump really isn't the brightest bulb in the box, is he.

It looks like we are going to lose 300.000 people this year. That seems to be unavoidable.

That is about 5 Vietnam wars a year.

Trump also changed the definition of what a true Republican is.

The Conservatives who oppose him are RINOs.

The republicans no longer exist. They are all trumpers now. Their only platform is whatever trump says today.

You mean down from the original many millions repeatedly touted by the medical community and the fear-porn mongers of the leftist-allied mainstream media . . . you know the people -- along with leftist politicians -- who managed to panic this nation into shutting down and damage its economy?

Right, if he hadn't done such a great job, we would have lost 300 million. If he gets four more years we just might get there. Somehow I think if 60 thousand people died during Obama's presidency, we wouldn't be heralding it as a great success.

It was more than a success if he holds the number of deaths to the minimum count for the perfect scenario as defined by experts in the Democrat bureaucracy ,,, an estimate that assumes everyone, even Democrats, do everything 100% right!!!!!!!!!!!

Birx said the projections by Dr. Anthony Fauci that U.S. deaths could range from 1.6 million to 2.2 million is a worst case scenario if the country did "nothing" to contain the outbreak, but said even "if we do things almost perfectly," she still predicts up to 200,000 U.S. deaths.

The White House coronavirus response coordinator said Monday that she is "very worried about every city in the United States" and projects 100,000 to 200,000 American deaths as a best case scenario.

Birx said the best case scenario would be for "100 percent of Americans doing precisely what is required, but we're not sure that all of America is responding in a uniform way to protect one another,"

Two weeks ago you proudly posted an IHME report that predicted 60,000 deaths by June.

Was that proof that the anti-Trumpers were exaggerating the threat?

Fascinating to see that if 100,000 Americans die, it will still be proof that Trump managed the crisis like a champ.

If changing from 65k to 100k gets you this rampant then what do you say about 1,500,000? Because that’s what we lose every year to obesity, smoking, drug abuse, suicide and alcoholism. All 100% preventable. You do know that 100k Americans die every 15 days from other than COVID19, don’t you?

    None of them are contagious.

    Do you understand the difference?

Without a doubt it worked. For the left it was the only way to accuse and discredit Trump. Hell, the Gov’s of blue states will prolong the shutdown as long as possible. I mean the left has thrown everything at Trump from collusion to obstruction to racism since before the election and President Trump hasn’t even flinched. This shutdown devastated the economy and the left will use that as their only campaign strong point.

However for the virus and the economy the shutdown was a total failure. The only ones that should of self quarantined were the elderly, obese and people prone to sickness. And you sickly people know who you are. You’re the ones that use up all your sick days at work with a belly ache. You’re the ones that seem to get the flu every year and it kicks your butt for two weeks. You’re the ones that always stayed indoors as a kid and never exposed your immune system to sickness. I just have a feeling when testing ramps up that this country is in for a shock when 250 million test positive for COVID19 and showed zero symptoms. In the end this shutdown (hysteria) will cost over $10 trillion and the permanent loss of 30 million jobs.

I agree - they have been off. And yes, they are coming from experts. But sadly, Trump trots out these numbers with such ownership and certainty. He just - so badly - wants to be right about something.

I wouldn't count those theoretical lives just yet.

The Trump administration is privately predicting the daily coronavirus death toll will double over the next month, with new infections increasing from 25,000 per day to 200,000

Every virus is contagious. So what. Get over it. I’m sick and tired of every death being blamed on this epidemic. The elderly with already life threatening diseases are dying. I get it. NY’s very 1st COVID19 attributed death was an 82 year old with emphysema. So the 60 years of smoking was not the blame? Here’s something from JAMA, which is the Bible in the field of medicine.

    APRIL 23RD, 2020
New Study Finds 94% Of Virus Patients In NYC Hospital System Had Underlying Conditions

A new study released by the Journal of the American Medical Association this week found that 94% of people hospitalized within the Northwell Health system, the same system housing the most patients in the country throughout the pandemic, displayed one or more underlying health issues...

...The median age of patients was 63 years old; 56.6% of coronavirus patients suffered from hypertension; 41.7% whose body mass index (BMI) data could be found were obese and 33.8% were diabetic.

So according to the Journal of the American Medical Association the average person that died from COVID19 was an obese 63 year old with diabetes and high blood pressure. And according to the US Dept of Labor 40 million have lost their source of income and are hoping to God they’ll be able to feed and house their family next week, next month, next year.

The virus is the leading cause of death in the country.

It's the 9/11 attacks every two days.

No, I think the left wants badly to whine about something. They'll latch on to anything and the rest will follow along like lost little children.

This is a global pandemic that originated in China, and no one alive has seen before. For anyone to try to blame this on the POTUS and expect anyone to take them seriously is just reaching hard for political agenda. The left is losing. They know it and are getting desperate. Hence, this thread.

So the deaths are only upsetting to you if it's contagious. What a strange criteria you have, but you do you.

Correct, COVID19 is to blame for the death of every obese 63 year old with diabetes and high blood pressure. Now, if the average age of a COVID19 death was a healthy 38 year old then I would say we have a problem.

So, according to your post the US is still averaging its customary 7,000 people a day dying from other than COVID19 plus the 2,000 a day dying from COVID19 making the yearly US death toll well over 3 million. Lets just wait and see.

Some of the people I love most in this world are elderly or have pre-existing conditions. So dismissing the threat of this virus because you are willing to cast off the elderly is callous, at best.

And this virus is definitely still dangerous even if it does kill you - and it is much more likely to be dangerous and/or kill you, as compared to the seasonal flu.
    It is worse than that.

In every location around the world, the number of deaths taking place - regardless of cause - is significantly higher than the average for that same time period. Not only are people dying from the new number one cause of death (covid), but they are just dying more rapidly, in general.

It is not a matter of refusing to be upset by those other causes of death. It is a matter of those other causes of death not being something which is contagious and novel, and thus raising those other causes of death is just a weak effort to distract from this virus.

Yes, when strangers might infect me and make me very sick, it worries me more than becoming obese or starting to smoke.

Probably because in one case, I'm a victim and in the other, it's a lifestyle issue.

    Is that clearer?

    Deplorable....
