Money at least. Not sure about control. I sure was disappointed to learn that the "food pyramid" I was taught in school was more the result of corporate lobbying than nutrition science.

 

Our commodity grain based society is a copy of models used since civilizations began to stabilize societies and centralize power. The thing that allowed civilization to exist has always been leveraged by government. The term “bread and circuses” wasn’t accidental. It’s not “rack of lamb and circuses” or “elk steak and eggs and circuses” for a reason.

The U.S. has perfected the scheme with fractionalization of commodity grains into highly processed, highly addictive simple carb foods and specifically targeted subsidization of production and processing. That allows more and more control from the healthcare end as well. People are dependent on government for the “drug” and the “treatment”.

 

I stay away from diets and science. Instead, I eat everything in moderation and let my body take care of the rest. Okay I also stay away from too many sweets, alcohol and drugs. But in point, I don't count calories or anything. I eat how I was raised. If it comes from a ranch, farm, or water, I will eat it.

Fascism often hides the government behind the facade of business interests. The US has perfected that as well. You see only the facade but not the structure behind the facade holding it up.
